Abstract

Penelitian quasi-eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi gambar-gambar kontekstual terhadap pengembangan kemampuan menulis siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Buko. Populasi ini diambil untuk sampel penelitian. Penelitian ini melibatkan 22 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 23 siswa pada kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen utama yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data penelitian adalah test. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan t-test analisis untuk membandingkan skor rata-rata dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata 81.8 dari kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada skor rata-rata 73,5 dari kelas kontrol. Data penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus t-test. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-hitung adalah 4.234. Dengan menerapkan tingkat signifikansi 0.05 dan derajat kebebasan (df) 43, nilai t-table adalah 1.681. Dengan demikian, maka Haditerima karena nilai t-counted 4.234lebih besar dari nilai t-tabel 1.681. Ini berarti bahwa ada pengembangan kemampuan menulis pada siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan aplikasi gambar kontekstual. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan gambar-gambar kontekstual sangat efektif untuk digunakan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menulis siswa.

Abstract

The state and condition of Indonesian teachers have graduallychanged to a better nuance due to the compensation of teacher certificationprogram (TCP). The program has conceivably raised the status of theteachers in social and economic lives. However, the impact of the programon the improvement of overall teacher‘s quality—teaching performance asmandated by Teacher and Lecturer Law remains questionable, and the bigquestion is what and how teachers perceive and act in response to theobjective of the program. The program aims not only to increase theteachers‘ salary, but also to improve the quality of their teachingperformance based on the teacher standard competence, that is pedagogical,personality, social, and professional competences. Therefore, the studyexplore and describe certified EFL teachers‘ perceptions concerning benefitsof the program on thier social and economic lives, improvement and qualityof their teaching practices; perceptions on the ways management ran theprogram; and expectations for better services of the TCP management.

Abstract

This Community Service aims at training students in using English Verbs. They hopefully can increasevocabulary especially their English verbs so that they can make sentences and communicate in that foreign language. They are motivated to master English verbs used in their daily activities to be able to communicate inthat international language practically. Its speciic target is students having spirits to add English Verbsso thatthey can use them sustainably and influence their friends in using the English vocabulary in sentences. They easilycommunicate in the global language if have many its vocabularies. They also can be global learners.Communicative method is used to reach the objective. It is applied in interaction with the students. Its result isthe Training of English Verbs for the students has been gone on well. Practical Ways of Learning English wereexplained to them who were also trained to increase the vocabulary and use them in sentences so that they canpractice them even though have not veen fluent in making and expressing them. They hopefully master the EnglishVerbs since all English sentences must have verbs.
