This study was motivated by students’ limited understanding of learning materials, as indicated by their inability to explain the materials in their own words, apply them in daily life, and solve problems. One effort to address this problem is the implementation of the Talking Stick type cooperative learning model, which uses a stick as a learning medium to encourage students to be ready to answer questions, thereby increasing their activeness, readiness, and responsibility in understanding the learning materials. This study aims to determine students’ learning outcomes before and after using the Talking Stick type cooperative learning model and to determine its effect on students’ learning outcomes in the Akidah Akhlak subject among seventh-grade students at MTsN 4 Padang. This research employed a quantitative experimental approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest Posttest Design. The population consisted of 379 seventh-grade students, while the sample comprised 62 students selected using purposive sampling, with class VII.2 as the control class and VII.5 as the experimental class. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and t-tests with SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average pre-test scores were 66.19 in the control class and 66.97 in the experimental class, while the average post-test scores were 82.97 and 91.87, respectively. Hypothesis testing produced a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the Talking Stick type cooperative learning model significantly affected students’ learning outcomes in Akidah Akhlak.
