Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure of the RELIGI curriculum with an approach of integrating religion with science-technology research at MBS Al-Amin Bojonegoro. The scientific integration curriculum approach is an effort by Islamic boarding schools to adapt to the development of the times. This qualitative approach with a case study type uses two main data sources, namely documentation and interviews. The main documentation was obtained from the MBS Al-Amin Bojonegoro Islamic Boarding School Development Master Plan, while interviews were conducted with two main sources, namely the Boarding School Advisory Board for education and the Mudir of MBS Al-Amin Bojonegoro. Five stages of data analysis were used, namely data collection, data arrangement into codes, data re-arrangement, data interpretation, and reporting of research results. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the intracurricular content at MBS Al-Amin is an integration of general subjects taken from the National Curriculum, religious subjects from the LP2M curriculum, and the Islamic boarding school curriculum with an emphasis on foreign subjects, especially Arabic. (2) The co-curricular content at MBS Al-Amin is in the form of a Special Curriculum oriented towards the research process carried out by students. This research activity is carried out in a program called the “Religi Project” and is managed by the Expert Council Team. (3) The extracurricular content at MBS Al-Amin consists of mandatory and elective extracurricular activities. The findings of this study have an impact on the preparation of an integrative curriculum structure at Islamic boarding schools and the importance of co-curricular and extracurricular activities in achieving the goals of Islamic boarding schools.
