Abstract

The rapid development of digital financial services and online transactions has increased the need for financial literacy and digital consumer protection, particularly among educators who play an important role in shaping students’ financial behavior. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers’ understanding of financial management, safe digital transactions, consumer protection, and personal data security in the digital era. The program was conducted for 55 teachers and educational staff at Yayasan Daarul Hijrah Al-Amin Samarinda through a participatory and educational approach. The implementation consisted of needs identification, preparation of educational materials, socialization, financial literacy training, digital consumer protection training, case studies and simulations, discussion and reflection, evaluation, and follow-up activities. The training emphasized practical understanding of financial planning, responsible digital transactions, recognition of potential fraud, protection of personal information, and critical decision-making when using digital financial services. The results indicated increased awareness among participants regarding the importance of managing personal finances and applying safe practices in online transactions. The program also encouraged teachers to act as agents of financial and digital literacy by transferring relevant knowledge and preventive practices to students and the wider school community. The activity implies that participatory, practical, and context-based financial literacy education can support the development of more responsible and secure digital financial behavior among educators.
