Abstract

Utilization of flora and fauna have been managed by various ethnic in kalimantan for the needs of their life. One of the original ethnic comunity in West Kalimantan is the Dayak Ella  located in Sungai Labuk Village, Ella Hilir Sub-District, Melawi Regency. The Dayak Ella community also has diversity in the utilization of fauna for food, medicines, traditional and supernatural ceremonies. The purpose of this research is to get data of the types of animals that are used for custom and mystical rituals and how to use them by Dayak Ella community. This research uses data collection method that is by field survey, interview and direct observation in the field while for data collection technique that is by snowball sampling technique that is by determining the key respondent to then determine other respondent based on information from previous respondent, so also for so on. The results showed that the number of animals used for custom or mystical rituals by the Ella Dayak community in Sungai Labuk Village Ella Hilir Sub-District Melawi District, which is 5 species of animals from 5 families, on average each family consists of only 1 species. The parts of animals used for this custom or mystical ritual are the whole body, head, blood, nails, fangs, liver, eggs, blood, and fur. Utilization of these animals use such a way of giving the whole body of both meat and blood of the animal for offerings on the spirits, there is also part of the animal such as fangs or nails that serve as a symbol or other sign.Keyword: Customary and Mystical Rituals, Dayak Ella, Ethnozoology

Abstract

Mangrove forests are one of the ecosystems that have important values in terms of physical, biological and economic. Increasing the quality of forests can increase the usefull of one of the biological benefits. This can be seen by many animals that use the forest as a shelter, spawning, foraging and so forth. One of the mangrove forest in Sungai Bakau Kecil`s Village, Mempawah, West Kalimantan. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of density and vegetation structure on the abundance of shellfish.The method used in this research was survey. Determination of starting point as the first line of observation was done purposively (placement deliberately), for the next path systematically with a distance of 100 m. Observation of mangrove vegetation was pathway technique. Each path was made of 3 plots of observation of mangrove vegetation and shellfish with each plot area of 10 m X 10 m. The plot was made perpendicular to the coastline, the first plot was near the beach then the second plot was made 50 m from the first plot and the third plot was made 50 m from the second plot. The samples was made of 3 quadran with 1m x 1m for shellfish samples .The highest density of vegetation with the highest shellfish was found in observation plots 3, 6 and 9 with each density of Vegetation in plot 3, 6, 9 were 7851/Ha, 13029/Ha and 5261/Ha respectively, and the range of 6-8 shellsfish. Vegetation structure at 3, 6 and 9 observation plots that can provide food, space and temperature that support for shellfish with tree density of 9-17/Ha, stakes 256-512/Ha and seedlings 5000-12500/Ha.Keywords: Mangrove, Shellfish, Vegetation

Abstract

The knowledge gained from experience is very valuable and cannot be retrieved instantly. Dayak Seberuang Sub Tempunak Regency Sintang have knowledge utilization of wildlife has been done based on experiences such as the utilization of animals for medicinal, mystical, and ritualistic consumption of art, value, sign and other so on. This knowledge must be documented considering the height of the opening activity of the community land will affect the animal population the area and it is feared will eliminate the knowledge society will be the utilization of wildlife. This research aims to record the type of animal, type of utilization of animal parts are utilized, as well as processing and usage on any kind of animals used by people in the village of Gurung Mali Tempunak Subdistrict Regency Sintang. The methods used in this research a survey method with interview techniques the taking of respondents with snowball sampling. Data retrieval or information made directly by research person selected respondents. The respondents obtained as many as 12 people. Based on the results of the interviews obtained 37 species of 32 the Dayak community exploited by Seberuang Gurung village of Mali. The family's average per family consists of only one species, except for the family, aciptridae, cervidae, felidae, Ungulates, each found 2 species. Unless species phasianidae 3 species. Utilization varied ranging from utilization of consumption, treatment, ritual, mystical, sign, and artistic value. Most utilization as the needs of consumption that is 43%. Parts of animals that utilized covers the entire body, flesh, bile, horns, feathers, skin, spines, scales, and. The meat is widely used that is 33%. The utilization of animals for drug processing more boiled and burned. The hunting technique performed tribal Power Gurung Mali still using simple tools, namely guns and snares.Key word: Dayak Seberuang, etnozoology, utilization, wildlife

Abstract

Bukit Sagu Community Forest, Sungai Sena Village, Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency is one of the forest with natural resources diversity richness. The wildlife that live and thrive in the indigenous forest is a kind of squirrel. Squirrel one of animal which important for the ecology function, so we need to do research on "Identification of the Squirrel species (Tupaia sp) In Indigenous Forest Region Bukit Sagu Sungai Sena village, Silat Hilir District of Kapuas Hulu Regency". The method used is a survey method, determining the location of the observations done purposive sampling by trapping. Identification the species of squirrel is done by means of measurement based on the Payne et. al, (1999). Method the number of squirrels have been found during the research in the area of ​​ Bukit Sagu Community Forest Sungai Sena, Village  Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, namely 92 individuals, consisting of three species of squirrels, the squirrel beautiful (Tupaia splendidula) as much as 42 individual, squirrel mountain (Tupaia montana ) 11 individual, and ground squirrels (Tupaia tana) were 39 individual. Abstract

Secondary forest is part of the tropical rain forest in West Kalimantan which has a fairly high biodiversity. Benefits to be derived from secondary forests include wood as building materials and firewood, rattan as the raw material crafts, vegetables, fruits and pharmaceuticals. A number of benefits that are owned by secondary forests, making this region can not be separated from the influence of human activity and hand mix, especially people around who generally take the benefits and results of the forest area. 2.2 ha total area of research. The method used is the method with path-shaped combination of lines and line terraced placed purposive sampling, Based on the results of research conducted on the Secondary Forest Tanjung Bunut District of Tayan Hilir Sangggau found 24 type vegetation ranging from seedlings, saplings, poles, and tree. Based on their research results visible to differences in the number of species and individuals who found. Number of species and individuals were found in five of these pathways, namely the seedling stage 96 species, with the number of 894 individuals, saplings 63 species, with the number of 725 people, found 57 species of small trees , the number of 595 people, and there are 51 kinds of tree with the number of individuals 441. the structure of secondary forest vegetation Tanjung Bunut still good because forest cover consisting of a wide variety of plant species with equitable conditions. Abstract

The Dayak Bakati tribe in Seluas village has knowledge in the use of animals that have been conducted based on experiences such as animal utilization for ritual, mystic, consumption, medication and artistic value. This knowledge should be documented given the high activity of land clearing by the community that will affect the wildlife population in the area and feared the disappearance of community’s knowledge about the utilization of the animals. This study aims to determine the types of animals that are used and the utilization of animals by the Dayak tribe community in Seluas village, Seluas sub districtBengkayang regency. The method used in this research is survey method and interview technique of taking respondents using snowball sampling. The number of respondents is 22 people. There are 41 families used by DayakBakati tribe. Species from 41 families on average have only 1 species, except for familysuidae, cervidae, trionychidae, gekkonidae, and cannidae, each of which has 2 species. Utilization varies from ritual and mystical use, consumption, treatment and artistic value. Utilization of the most as consumption needs 59%. The parts of animals used include the whole body, meat, bones, blood, skin, horns, egg fat, teeth, head, liver, shell, dirt and fur. Meat is the most widely used animal body parts as many as 38 species of animals from 45 species of animals used by villagers of Seluas village, Seluas subdistrict Bengkayang regency. Wildlife management by the community for consumption by way of cooked gravy, sautéed, roasted and fried. Abstract

Local people of  Kalimantan still use natural products such as animals, plants or fruits in the forest for their daily needs, whether for consumption, customs, needs for medication, and other needs. One of them is the Dayak Belangin Communities located in the village of Mu'un, Ngabang District, Landak Regency. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on what kinds of animals are used for medicines and obtain data of animal utilization for medicines by the Dayak Belangin in Mu'un Village, Ngabang Sub-district, Landak Regency. This research used survey and interview method as well as direct observation in the field and tools used for data collection in the form of kouesioner. Based on the results of research conducted on 20 respondents it is known that the number of animal species still used for medecine by the Dayak Belangin Mu'un Village as many as 10 species. Parts of the body used for medicine in the form of whole body, bile, intestine, geliga, fat, bones and honey. Processing as a medicine by burning, boiling or soaking the parts of the body used and how to use it by drinking, eaten and polished.Keyword: Dayak Belangin, etnozoological, medecine.

Abstract

The richness of flora and fauna in Kalimantan is part of the wealth of natural resources. People in Kalimantan, namely in the interior or known as the Dayak community, still use natural products in the form of animals, plants, fruits in the forest for their daily needs, both for consumption needs, customs needs, needs for treatment, can also be used as a symbol of art. The Kanayatn Dayak tribe is one of the hundreds of Dayak sub-tribes who inhabit the island of Borneo. The Kanayatn Dayak community in Pancaroba Village still uses forest products in the form of animals that are used for commercial purposes. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the types of animals used for trade, the parts used, and the selling price of the animals. The method used in this research is a survey method, the selection of respondents is done by snowball sampling technique and data collection using a questionnaire. This study obtained 19 selected respondents and obtained 17 species of animals from 15 families that are used for trade by the Kanayatn Dayak Community. Masyarakat di Kalimantan yakni di pedalaman atau yang dikenal dengan masyarakat Dayak masih memanfaatkan hasil alam yaitu berupa satwa, tumbuh-tumbuhan, buah-buahan yang ada di dalam hutan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari, baik untuk kebutuhan konsumsi, kebutuhan adat istiadat, kebutuhan untuk pengobatan, juga bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai simbol kesenian. Suku Dayak Kanayatn adalah salah satu dari sekian ratus subsuku Dayak yang mendiami Pulau Kalimantan. Masyarakat Dayak Kanayatn di Desa Pancaroba masih memanfaatkan hasil hutan berupa satwa yang dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan diperdagangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data jenis satwa yang dimanfaatkan untuk diperdagangkan, bagian yang digunakan dan harga jual dari satwa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei, pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan teknik snowball sampling dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner. Penelitian ini diperoleh 19 responden terpilih dan memperoleh 17 jenis satwa dari 15 famili yang dimanfaatkan untuk diperdagangkan oleh Masyarakat Dayak Kanayatn. Abstract

West Kalimantan is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has various types of tribes, one of the tribes in West Kalimantan is the Dayak. Dayak tribe is known for its unique culture in their daily life. One of the Dayak tribes in West Kalimantan is the Dayak Kerambai Atas tribe in Raut Muara Village, Sekayam District, Sanggau Regency. Dayak Kerambai Atas tribe has a relatively high dependence on forests, where natural resources in the forest are used to meet their daily needs. The Kerambai Atas Dayak community still uses forest products in the form of animals that are used for medicinal purposes. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the animals species, Processing, utilization and conservation status that used for Medecine by Dayak Kerambai Atas community. The method used in this study was a survey method, the selection of respondents was carried out using snowball sampling techniques and data collection using a questionnaire. This study obtained 10 selected respondents and obtained 28 species of animals from 19 families that were used for treatment by the Upper Dayak Kerambai Atas Community. The parts used are the whole body and flesh, blood, fat, feces, bile, tongue, fur, horns.Keywords: Ethnozoology, Medicine, Upper Kerambai DayakAbstrakKalimantan Barat merupakan salah satu Provinsi di Indonesia yang memiliki beragam jenis suku, salah satu suku yang ada di Kalimantan Barat adalah Suku Dayak. Suku Dayak terkenal memiliki keunikan budaya dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya. Salah satu Suku Dayak yang terdapat di Kalimantan Barat yaitu Suku Dayak Kerambai Atas di Desa Raut Muara Kecamatan Sekayam Kabupaten Sanggau. Suku Dayak Kerambai Atas memiliki ketergantungan yang relatif tinggi pada hutan, dimana sumber daya alam yang ada di hutan dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya. Masyarakat Dayak Kerambai Atas masih memanfaatkan hasil hutan berupa satwa yang dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendata jenis satwa yang dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan dan cara pemanfaatan serta proses pengolahan oleh suku Dayak Kerambai Atas di Desa Raut Muara Kabupaten sanggau. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei, pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan teknik snowball sampling dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner. Penelitian ini diperoleh 10 responden terpilih dan memperoleh 28 jenis satwa dari 19 famili yang dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan oleh Masyarakat Dayak Kerambai Atas. Bagian yang dimanfaatkan adalah seluruh badan dan daging, darah, lemak, kotoran (taik), empedu, lidah, bulu, tanduk.Kata kunci : Etnozoologi, Pengobatan, Dayak Kerambai Atas

Abstract

Hingga saat ini, pemerintah pusat dan daerah berupaya melakukan pengendalian dan pencegahan kebakaran. Namun usaha tersebut belum optimal karena rendahnya kesadaran dan partisipasi/peran masyarakat dalam pengendalian kebakaran tersebut. Oleh karena itu strategi pengendalian kebakaran difokuskan pada manajemen kebakaran berbasis masyarakat (community-based fire management) dimana kegiatan tersebut diarahkan untuk kegiatan pencegahan daripada usaha pemadaman kebakaran dengan melibatkan partisipasi/peran serta masyarakat lokal. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (PPM) dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi/peran serta masyarakat dalam pengendalian kebakaran lahan gambut hingga tercipta manajemen kebakaran berbasis masyarakat di Desa Pinang Dalam Kecamatan Kubu, Kabupaten Kubu Raya selama enam minggu. Adapun strategi yang dapat dijadikan acuan dalam proses pencegahan terjadinya kebakaran adalah pendekatan sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Strategi ini berupa peningkatan kemampuan masyarakat melalui kegiatan pelatihan ataupun penyuluhan tentang teknik-teknik pencegahan kebakaran/mengurangi penggunaan api dalam penyiapan lahan. Adanya rangsangan dan dorongan agar semakin mengugah emosi dan perasaan masyarakat untuk terlibat dalam pencegahan. Bimbingan dalam kegiatan pengendalian dan pencegahan kebakaran serta pemberian intensif agar masyarakat memperoleh manfaat dari partisipasi aktif dalam pencegahan kebakaran bagi kehidupan sosial ekonomi berupa pengembangan produk-produk alternatif (misalnya pembuatan kompos dari keripik pakis dari pemanfaatan bahan bakar pada areal penyiapan lahan).  Kata kunci: Strategi pengendalian kebakaran lahan, manajemen kebakaran berbasis masyarakat, partisipasi masyarakat, kuliah kerja nyata-pengabdian kepada masyarakat
