Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of communication effectiveness and teamwork on employee performance within Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in Palopo City. The research examines the impact of two independent variables—communication effectiveness (X1) and teamwork (X2)—on the dependent variable, employee performance (Y). The analysis results indicate that communication effectiveness and teamwork, when considered simultaneously, have a significant influence on employee performance. These findings suggest that enhancing both the quality of communication and the ability to work collaboratively in teams can collectively improve employee performance in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. However, partial analysis yielded different results. The communication effectiveness variable (X1) showed a calculated t-value of -0.235, indicating that its influence on employee performance is not significant due to the value being both very low and negative. Conversely, the teamwork variable (X2) showed a calculated t-value of 8.698, demonstrating a positive and significant influence on employee performance. Thus, teamwork emerges as the more dominant factor in enhancing employee performance compared to communication effectiveness. Overall, this study concludes that employee performance success in Palopo City Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is driven more by the ability of organizational members to work together effectively in teams, although communication still serves as a supporting factor in achieving organizational goals.
