Abstract

Digital transformation requires teachers not only to use technology but also to integrate it pedagogically into assessment practices. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and initial competence in designing metaverse-based interactive assessments through ZEP Quiz training. The program was conducted at an integrated Islamic educational foundation in Ciamis Regency through orientation, demonstration, guided practice, quiz development, and evaluation. Of the 35 participating teachers, 24 provided complete paired pretest–posttest data, while 27 completed the post-training evaluation questionnaire. The knowledge test consisted of eight multiple-choice questions. The two datasets were analyzed separately using descriptive statistics, while normalized gain was calculated for the paired pretest–posttest scores. The mean knowledge score increased from 6.92 to 7.58 out of 8, with a normalized gain of 0.615, indicating moderate improvement. The questionnaire results showed that all 27 respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they could create interactive quizzes using ZEP Quiz. These findings indicate an improvement in teachers’ knowledge and perceived ability following the training, providing an initial foundation for designing metaverse-based interactive assessments. Further assessment of participants’ quiz products and classroom implementation is needed to more comprehensively evaluate their design competence.
