Abstract

Children with special needs are children who have abnormalities in him, thus causing the individual has a need to be tailored to their specific characteristics. Abnormalities of children with special needs, impact on the immediate environment of children, namely family. Many cases of divorce in parents who have children with special needs. The cause may be possible because of negative parents' perceptions of children, low acceptance and resilience in parents with special needs children. Divorced parents have a negative impact on the education of children with special needs, because they lose the ability to fully play a parent in fulfilling the rights of the child. One solution in dealing with divorce that occurs in parents who have children with special needs is to use family counseling and divorce therapy. Handling is expected to minimize the negative impact of divorce parents of children with special needs and prevent the occurrence of divorce cases in other families who have children with special needs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of extraordinary schools in improving social skills competence as an effort to prepare for careers of children with special needs. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. This research was conducted at SLB N Sukoharjo, SLB N Surakarta and SLB N Colomadu. Subjects in this study were six teachers and three principals in the Special School which were used as research sites. Research data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis technique in this study uses descriptive analysis. The results showed that efforts to improve social skills competencies to prepare for careers of children with special needs in extraordinary schools were carried out through the learning of social science. The social skill material taught is adapted to the child's ability. Barriers that occur in efforts to improve social skills are lack of parental support and a less inclusive social environment. The solution, schools can socialize with parents to teach social skills at home and socialization to the community environment to become an inclusive society.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pelaksanaan konseling individu untuk menumbuhkan kepercayaan diri orang tua yang memiliki anak autis di SLB Autis Mitra Ananda Colomadu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang mana peneliti menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan hasil temuan. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua anak autis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, dan observasi, metode analisis data yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis interaktif dan keabsahan data menggunakan metode trianggulasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konseling individu menggunakan teknik REBT dapat membuat orang tua sadar bahwa anaknya membutuhkan dukungan dari orang tuanya. Karena salah satu keberhasilan terapi untuk anak autis adalah dukungan dari orang tuanya. Dengan teknik logotherapy klien mulai memberikan nilai pada keadaan yang dia punya serta klien sadar akan karunia Tuhan yang diberikan kepadanya, dan dengan teknik humanistik, klien mulai mampu menerima kondisi anaknya. Hal tersebut membuat klien memiliki kepercayaan diri sebagai orang tua yang memiliki anak autis.The purpose of this study is to know how the process of individual counseling implementation to foster self-confidence of parents who have children with autism in SLB Autis Mitra Ananda Colomadu. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in which the researcher describes and describes the findings. Subjects in this study were parents of children with autism. Data collection techniques using interviews, and observation, data analysis methods used in this study is interactive analysis and data validity using data triangulation method. The results of this study indicate that individual counseling using REBT techniques can make parents aware that their children need support from their parents. Because one of the successes of therapy for children with autism is support from their parents. With the logotherapy technique the client begins to give value to the circumstances that he has as well as the client is conscious of God's gift given to him, and by humanistic techniques, the client begins to be able to accept his child's condition. This makes the client has confidence as parents who have children with autism.

Abstract

Mathematics is an important subject to be learned by all children. Visually impaired children experience obstacles in following the process of mathematics learning caused by abnormalities. Visually impaired students experience obstacles in the process of thinking at the disequilibrium stage and low understanding of concepts when studying mathematics. It caused them to experience difficulties when doing math problems. Assistive technology is a technology created specifically to improve or maintain the functional ability of children with special needs in order to accomplish tasks that hard for them to do. Assistive technology for visually impaired children is made by maximizing the abilities that the children still possess and helping them to get a clearer mathematical concept. This article is a literary study which aims to provide information about the difficulty for the visually impaired students in mathematics learning and assistive technologies that have been developed to support the learning. This article can be used as the basis for developing new assistive technology in mathematics learning. Assistive technology is needed to help children with visual impairment in following the learning of mathematics and to optimize the ability of the children in learning mathematics.
