Abstract

Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan akumulasi kalkulus supragingiva pada pasien dengan Penyakit Jantung Koroner(PJK) terbentuk lebih cepat dan lebih banyak dibandingkan pasien non PJK. Streptococcus sanguinis dikenal bukan sajadalam hubungannya dengan pembentukan karang gigi, tetapi juga dengan endokarditis bakterial yang dapat menimbulkankematian. Penelitian awal ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi S.sanguinis yang berasal dari plak gigi dan saliva pasienPJK. Sampel berasal dari plak gigi dan saliva 17 pasien PJK yang disebar pada plat Agar Mitis Salivarius dan diinkubasidalam suasana mikroaerofilik. Total sampel adalah 50,35 berasal plak gigi, 15 dari saliva, yang diasumsikan sebagai S.sanguinis atas`dasar morfologi koloninya yang jelas, lekat, berbentuk bintang, diambil dan dikonfirmasi dengan caramenumbuhkan setiap koloni kedalam agar darah bernutrisi. Bacterial chromosomal DNA diekstraksi dan dikonformasisebagai S. sanguinis dengan menggunakan primer PCR amplifikasi spesifik regio intergenik (475-bp) dan strain standardS. sanguinis ATCC 10556. Diversiti genotip diobservasi menggunakan primer OPA2. Didapatkan 4 dari 50 isolat (8%), 1koloni dari saliva, dan 3 koloni dari plak gigi dikonformasi sebagai S. sanguinis. Sebagai kesimpulan, morfologi koloni S.sanguinis jelas, lekat, berbentuk bintang, didapatkan 4 keragaman genotip S. sanguinis di dalam plak gigi dan salivapasien PJK.

Abstract

Oral care product produced primarily to benefit oral and dental health. Throughits role in the prevention and treatment ofgingival and periodontal disease, there is the potential for benefits of oral hygiene p roduct in the prevention of systemicdisease and conditions. All agents, drug and devices designed to maintain and improve human well being, there is thepossibility of harmful side effects occurring as a result of the use of oral hygiene products. This re view is to debate thepotential for oral hygiene products, when used as recommended, to cause oral and dental harm to the user. Mouth rinseswould appear to ha ve potential risks/ side effects originally from three sources such as the physico chemical proper ties,the active in the product and other ingredients. Any physical trauma to the gingival, particularly if inflamed, can produce abacteremia. The importance of mouth rinses to the periodontal patient must be far outweigh the potential harm in use toden t al hard tissues or the gingiva In conclusion, the use of mouth rinses properly based on regulat ed pack and followeddentist in gestoon would not cause side effects of oral cavity realth.

Abstract

Sekolah adalah tempat berlangsungnya proses belajar mengajar. Salah satu faktor untuk mencapai kondisi lingkungan belajar yang baik adalah terhindar dari masalah kebisingan. Sekolah yang berada dekat dengan jalan rayadapat mengganggu aktivitas siswa yang berlangsung. Gangguan yang sering ditemui di sekolah-sekolah adalah gangguan kebisingan yang berasal dari sektor transportasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat kebisingan dan menggambar pemetaan di SD Negeri 1 Beringin Raya. Alat yang digunakan untuk menentukan kebisingan dalam penelitian ini adalah Sound Level Meter, pemetaan menggunakan softwere Surfer 16, dan perhitungan kebisingan menggunakan rumus pada Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No: KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan cara mencatat setiap 5 detik selama 10 menit diperoleh tingkat kebisingan rata–rata pada titik 1 (pinggir jalan) sebesar 76 dB, pada titik 2 (depan kelas 5) sebesar 68,5 dB, pada titik 3 (depan kelas 1) sebesar 62,5 dB, pada titik 4 (depan kelas 4) sebesar 58,0 dB, pada titik 5 (depan kelas 6) sebesar 57,1 dB. Berdasarkan hasil Analisa tingkat kebisingan rata-rata di SD Negeri 1 Beringin Raya belum memenuhi standar yang telah ditentukan yaitu 55 dB. Tingkat kebisingan dari hasil perhitungan selanjutnya dilakukan pemetaan dengan Surfer 16 dan didapatkan alternatif pengendalian antaralain pelarangan membunyikan klakson, dilarang berhenti bagi kendaraan bermotor, membuat zona selamat sekolah di jalan raya, pembangunan noise barrier (dinding peredam suara) berupa pagar tembok pada halaman sekolah setinggi 2,8 m, dan penanaman tumbuhan tanaman kembang sepatu (hibiscus rosa sinensis L) di depan pagar sekolah.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) and periodontitis are the most prevalent human diseases. Diabetes worsens the periodontal condition, but periodontitis also hampers glycemic control in diabetic patients. Based on staging and grading, the latest periodontitis classification puts DM as one of the grade modifiers. Periodic periodontal maintenance prevents reinfection and could help people with diabetes maintain effective glycemic control. Dental health education and periodontal disease awareness are crucially needed for diabetic patients, especially during the pandemic. Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationship between levels of awareness and knowledge of periodontitis in diabetic patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A closed-ended questionnaire was distributed to new patients referred to the Periodontology Clinic of the Dental Hospital of Universitas Indonesia. Patients' data were collected during the COVID-19 pandemic from January to June 2021. Results: Eighty-four patients participated, of which 34.5 % were diabetic patients with periodontitis. Statistically, significant differences (P < 0.05) were found between levels of awareness and knowledge of periodontitis among diabetic patients and nondiabetic patients (both groups are suffering periodontitis). Awareness and knowledge of periodontitis are inversely correlated with their current clinical periodontal status, therefore patients with less awareness and knowledge have more severe periodontitis. Conclusion: Lack of awareness and knowledge of periodontitis was found among both nondiabetic and diabetic periodontitis patients. Dental health education is required to improve understanding and awareness of the relationship between periodontitis and DM.

Abstract

Abstract: Composting is an environmentally friendly method of processing organic waste that can produce high-value organic fertilizer. Organic wastes such as pineapple peels and rabbit manure have potential as compost raw materials due to their high organic carbon and nitrogen content. In this study, a ratio of pineapple peel and rabbit manure of 1:1 (wet weight) was used to obtain an appropriate initial C/N ratio. However, an unbalanced C/N ratio requires special treatment to optimize the decomposition process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the windrow method with the addition of Effective Microorganisms 4 (EM4) and Green Phoskko activators on C-organic content, total nitrogen, and the resulting compost C/N ratio. The research was conducted using an experimental method with a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of three treatments, namely: no activator (control), addition of EM4, and addition of Green Phoskko. The compost material was arranged in the form of an elongated pile (windrow), turned periodically, and measured temperature, pH, C-organic content, total nitrogen, and C/N ratio every week for 28 days (4 weeks) of the composting process. Laboratory analysis was conducted at Lampung State Polytechnic Laboratory. The results showed that treatment with EM4 produced C-organic content of 17.26%, total nitrogen of 1.63%, and C/N ratio of 10.59, while Green Phoskko produced C-organic content of 16.22%, total nitrogen of 1.45%, and C/N ratio of 11.18, and the control produced C-organic content of 15.64%, total nitrogen of 1.30%, and C/N ratio of 12.03. the compost treated with EM4 and Green Phoskko has met the standards of good compost quality.

Abstract

Stationary source emissions are one of the main contributors to air pollution from the industrial sector. This internship aims to assess the application of emission control technology in boiler, dryer, and generator units at PT. X and to determine its effectiveness in meeting emission quality standards according to national regulations. The methods used include field observations, production process studies, and qualitative descriptive analysis of emission monitoring results. The results of the observations indicate that PT. X has implemented control technologies such as Dust Collectors in boilers, Cyclone Dust Exchangers in dryers, and Air Filters and Silencers in generators. In addition, the company also utilizes Green Open Spaces (GOS) to support air quality management. The application of these technologies is able to reduce the potential for pollutants before they are released into the atmosphere and the presence of GOS helps maintain air quality in the surrounding environment. The overall evaluation shows that emission parameters are in the category of meeting quality standards, so that the efforts made by PT. X are effective in maintaining air quality and supporting the company's compliance with applicable regulations.
