Abstract

At the beginning of its life, breast milk is the best food for babies because breast milk contains all the nutrients that can be used for optimal growth and development of the baby. Therefore, the government has promoted exclusive breastfeeding programs for infants 0-4 months or up to 6 months if possible. However, the current phenomenon especially among working mothers, there are regulatory difficulties in giving milk to children. Breast milk can still be given by a working mother the pumping method and stored first. To facilitate the storage of breast milk, three types of containers are widely used, namely plastic clips, plastic bottles, and glass bottles. In the period of storage, it must be ensured that breast milk can be maintained with good quality and integrity. This study aims to compare the total number of bacteria that can grow in breast milk after being stored in three different types of containers. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling. The treatment in this study was by placing breast milk in three different containers, namely plastic bottles (A), glass bottles (B), and plastic bags for storing breast milk (C) stored at room temperature (16-260C) with three replications. Breast milk is obtained from volunteers who have been predetermined and then accommodated in sterile containers. Statistical test results showed that the variation of the container did not affect the total bacterial colony with a p-value of 0.246 (P> 0.05) with the highest number of bacteria in plastic bag storage with an average of 5.4x103 CFU/ml.

Abstract

Rice is one of the staple foods which is the main source nutrition such as carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, protein, fat and fiber. The various rice cultivars that have been developed have different nutritional variations so that they provide choices according to the wishes of the community. This study aims to compare the profile of the compound content of Baroma rice in different cooking methods. Baroma rice was chosen in the study because the test for the content of compounds had never been carried out considering that the rice cultivar is a new type. The nutrients such as total protein, total fat, total sugar, starch, and calories were measured in the cooking method using stove and magic com with a completely randomized design and repeated 3 times. The results were analyzed using unpaired t-test analysis for the effect of different cooking methods. The result showed that magic com cooking increases fat and protein content while stove cooking elevates calories, starch, and total sugar.

Abstract

Quality assurance is one of the benchmarks that can be seen in assessing the quality of a university. All efforts that can be made related to the quality assurance process must be carried out starting from the level of study programs to tertiary institutions and a thorough evaluation not only related to the learning curriculum but also the human resources involved in it. One of the essential human resources involved in the learning process is educators. The optimal performance of educators will affect the whole teaching and learning process, and the implementation of these educators is strongly influenced by satisfaction with campus services. So, this study aims to analyze the satisfaction of education personnel with the services provided by the campus. Surveying educators carried out the data search process in the UIN Walisongo Semarang. Nine aspects are analyzed by the level of satisfaction by educators, namely 1) Recruitment and Selection, 2) Employee Orientation and Placement, 3) Training, Learning and Development Tasks, 4) Job Evaluation 5) Career Paths 6) Welfare 7) Attendance and Assignment System, 8) Termination and 9) Campus Facilities. The results of the analysis obtained are that the satisfaction of education personnel is at a moderate to a very high level with the aspect that shows the highest satisfaction in the achievement and assignment system variable (3.50) and the element that is at the lowest level of satisfaction is the welfare variable (3.14).

Abstract

Perairan Indonesia merupakan daerah migrasi dari jenis-jenis mamalia air. Perairan laut Indonesia yang luas memiliki potensi sumberdaya hayati yang beranekaragam. Salah satu sumberdaya tersebut adalah mamalia laut, dimana semua anggota mamalia laut merupakan hewan yang langka dan di lindungi di seluruh dunia. Tujuan dengan adanya penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui tingkah laku mamalia didasar laut dan dipermukaan laut yang belum diketahui oleh banyak orang. Spesies yang diamati antara lain ikan paus (Cetacea), lumba-lumba (Delphinidae), anjing laut (Pinnipedia), dan dugong (Dugong dugon). Tingkah laku mamalia laut yang teridentifikasi selama pengamatan adalah berburu mangsa, melompat ke atas permukaan air, habitat yang disukai dan berenang menuju arah tertentu. Abstract

Cancer is a condition where the body's cells continue to divide without control. Often, this cancer is detected when it has entered an advanced stage, making it difficult to treat. Rice is a staple food widely used by more than half of Indonesia's population. The position of rice, which is a staple food, can be used as a prospective treatment to overcome the increasing number of cancer cases, especially in cases of colon cancer. Rice is reported to have many beneficial chemical contents. In cytotoxicity testing using WiDr colon cancer cells, the IC50 of the ethanolic extract of baroma rice is 316.01µg/ml. Stovetop cooked baroma rice showed an IC50 value of 672 µg/ml, while magic com cooked rice showed an IC50 value of 1232 µg/ml. Raw and stove-cooked baroma rice extracts are not strong enough to trigger apoptosis in cancer cells and can arrest the cell cycle at the G1 stage. This research shows that baroma rice extract has cytotoxic properties against WiDr colon cancer cells and various other evidence regarding the advantages of baroma rice. It is hoped that this rice can become a food that can prevent colon cancer.

Abstract

University as an education provider unit always makes changes to adapt to the times. Lecturers are professional educators and scientists with the main task of transforming, developing, and disseminating science and technology through education, research, and community service. To support the tri dharma task of the lecturer, an assessment and evaluation of the campus's services must be conducted. This study used a survey method with lecturers as the research population. The results of this study showed that lecturer satisfaction in the three aspects tested, namely aspects of education, research, and community service, obtained very high satisfaction index scores.

Abstract

Anemia defisiensi besi merupakan masalah kesehatan yang umum di kalangan ibu hamil danmenimbulkan risiko serius bagi kesehatan ibu dan perkembangan janin. Penelitian inibertujuan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan efektivitas suplemen zat besi danmakanan alami dalam meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin pada ibu hamil melalui tinjauanpustaka terhadap 10 artikel ilmiah. Analisis tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa suplemen zatbesi meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin rata-rata 1,59 g/dL dalam 30 hari, sementaraintervensi makanan alami seperti pisang Ambon, ekstrak kurma, jus tomat, madu, dan ubijalar menghasilkan peningkatan rata-rata 1,63 g/dL hanya dalam 10–14 hari. Peningkatantertinggi diamati dengan konsumsi pisang Ambon, mencapai 2,37 g/dL. Kehadiran vitaminC, asam folat, dan vitamin B kompleks dalam bahan makanan alami diyakini dapatmeningkatkan penyerapan zat besi non-heme dan mendukung hematopoiesis. Suplemen zatbesi tetap penting untuk mengobati anemia berat, sementara makanan alami lebih efektifuntuk pencegahan jangka panjang karena tolerabilitas dan kepatuhan yang lebih baik.Kombinasi kedua pendekatan tersebut dapat menawarkan strategi optimal untuk mengatasianemia defisiensi besi selama kehamilan.

Abstract

Terminalia catappa merupakan tanaman yang mengandung berbagai zat seperti antibakteri dan antikanker. Melalui studi literatur, artikel ini membahas kandungan dan fungsi tanaman Terminalia catappa. Pada tanaman ini ditemukan alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan saponin yang merupakan senyawa antibakteri. Dalam penelitian pada ikan, ekstrak Terminalia catappa juga dapat menghentikan laju infeksi bakteri dan mengobatinya. Selain itu, dalam penelitian yang dilakukan pada tikus, diketahui bahwa mereka memiliki sifat antiinflamasi dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan mikrofita usus halus. Peningkatan jumlah leukosit ini meningkatkan kemampuan tubuh untuk melawan infeksi bakteri, karena leukosit memainkan peran kunci dalam mengidentifikasi dan menghancurkan patogen berbahaya. Oleh karena itu, ekstrak ketapang tidak hanya bertindak langsung terhadap bakteri tetapi juga mendukung pertahanan imun bawaan tubuh, menjadikannya kandidat yang menjanjikan untuk terapi antibakteri alternatif.
