Abstract

AbstractIntolerance and extremism have recently increased in the academic atmosphere or among students. The purpose of this study was to discover the origins of intolerance and radicalism among students, identify the core cause of educational problems, and examine the role of cultural education in building the character of Indonesian students. The Delphi approach was used to assess data gathered from a variety of expert informants. The study's findings revealed four significant causes of intolerance and radicalization: personal factors, education, economic-social-political-cultural issues, and a lack of religious comprehension. The study also found that religious education is less in-depth, with less reading, weak persuasive logic, and a focus on binary truth. Cultural education begins with establishing superior national identity through the Pancasila character ("gotong-royong" or cooperation, empathy, and good critical-thinking abilities); fosters the habit of reading texts critically and comprehensively. Both serve as the foundation for pupils' capacity to solve complex challenges. This study makes recommendations for promoting pupils' religious belief in God and tolerance values. How to Cite: Cardinale, P., Rofi’I, M. S., Samputra, P. L., Achdiawan,  R. (2021). Abstract

Background: The tourism sector is most vulnerable to economic risk due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Bali. As a continuation of the discourse on a particular digital nomad visa in 2022, the Remote Worker Visa is designed to mitigate economic risk. This study aims to analyze the impact of the Indonesian Remote Workers Visa on regional economic resilience in the tourism sector. Methods: This study uses a Delphi analysis approach consisting of two stages: a qualitative method with expert interview techniques and a quantitative method with a questionnaire technique. Findings: The results of the analysis are based on the results of the consensus of expert sources with standard deviation parameters (<1.5) and Interquartile (<2.5). Seven expert sources were from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and academics. The study results show that the tourism sector in Bali has not fully recovered even though there is a remote worker visa, and regional economic resilience has not been able to pass the recovery phase. Conclusion: The tourism sector is said to be able to avoid losses (vulnerability, resilience, and resilience) from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic with the support of remote worker visas. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study provides a novel analysis of the Indonesian Remote Worker Visa’s impact on Bali’s tourism resilience, using Delphi analysis to assess its effectiveness in mitigating post-pandemic economic risks.

Abstract

Local knowledge plays a crucial role in strengthening village resilience amidst the challenges of modernization and environmental change. This study examines the contribution of local knowledge to village resilience through four main aspects: ecology, social, economic, and institutional, with a focus on Hanjeli Tourism Village, Sukabumi, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and literature review methods, this research analyzes how local practices support village sustainability. The findings indicate that in terms of ecology, hanjeli-based agricultural practices contribute to biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resource management. From a social perspective, strong social capital and intergenerational knowledge transfer play a crucial role in preserving traditional practices. In the economic aspect, the diversification of hanjeli-based enterprises, including educational tourism and derivative products, enhances the community’s economic resilience. Meanwhile, the institutional aspect is reflected in the community’s role in resource management and the village’s recognition as part of the UNESCO Global Geopark. This study recommends policies that strengthen the documentation of local knowledge, enhance community participation in resource governance, and encourage the integration of traditional practices into sustainable village development strategies.

Abstract

This study examines the resilience of women in Indonesia’s Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (INTRAC/PPATK) amid gender mainstreaming policies while managing dual roles as employees and mothers (double burden). Resilience is assessed through four components: Overcoming, Steering Through, Bouncing Back, and Reaching Out. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, a survey was conducted with 32 purposively selected respondents—female employees with children aged 0-7 years. Overcoming increased by Leave Flexibility and Work Environment (93.8% of respondents) and decreased by Workload (78% of respondents). Steering Through increased by Leave Flexibility and Work Environment (93.8% of respondents) but were hindered by Workload (78% of respondents). Bouncing Back improved with Office Facilities and Work Environment (96.9% of respondents) and Leave Flexibility (87.6% of respondents). Reaching Out benefited from Leave flexibility and the work environment (96.9% of respondents) and flexible working hours (78.1%) but declined due to workload (78.1% of respondents). Office facilities also contributed to overcoming, steering through, and reaching out. Key challenges included children’s health and development, workload, finances, and childcare. Additional obstacles were time management, childcare, workload, and maternal health. Strategies to cope involved collaboration, communication, quality time with children, effective time management, and enhancing emotional and spiritual intelligence.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the types of human rights violations that have occurred in the Papua region and to analyze the government’s strategies for addressing each violation. The increase in conflicts related to human rights violations in Papua, particularly by separatist groups, has been marked by acts of discrimination against human rights activists and security task forces. These dynamics have further impeded national economic growth and infrastructure development. The purpose of this research is to understand the nature of human rights violations in the Papua region and to examine the government’s response to these violations amid evolving political developments in Papua. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, analyzing 24 previous scientific articles published in reputable national and international journals from 2018 to 2025. Data were collected through searches on Google Scholar using the keyword Human Rights. The research concludes that addressing human rights issues in Papua requires deliberative dialogue conducted by the central government with all parties involved in the conflict, like the approach taken by the Indonesian government in resolving the GAM conflict.

Abstract

Background: With the potential market share as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, the existence of Indonesian Sharia Bank/Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Indonesia has indeed increased the development of Islamic banking, but has not been able to keep up with the prevalence of conventional bank market share so that both external and internal marketing strategies are needed with the utilization of marketing intelligence. This study aims to identify the characteristics of BSI customers by analyzing processes and performance, including comparing strengths and weaknesses with conventional banks so as to obtain marketing strategies to increase BSI market share. Methods This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach to the data obtained from interviews, documentation, and analysis of research subjects. Findings: The results show that the characteristics of BSI customers are young urban people with higher education and middle to upper economic levels. In BSI's marketing process and performance, the utilization of marketing intelligence is likened to an intelligence cycle, although it is not optimal because it still depends on data from external research companies. BSI has also not optimally implemented Blue Ocean Strategy that utilizes product uniqueness and tends to conduct Red Ocean Strategy to dominate the conventional bank market in increasing market share. Conclusion: The recommended marketing strategies include utilizing product uniqueness to create new markets, developing user-friendly transaction technology and digital platforms, strengthening positioning and brand awareness through Islamic ecosystem-based marketing, and intensifying digital marketing as a brand presence that increases public trust. Novelty/Originality of this article: The novelty aspect refers to the new or innovative elements in a research study that distinguish it from previous work. It includes unique contributions, new methods, or findings that have not been explored before in the field.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia ranks third globally in the number of smokers, despite government efforts to reduce cigarette consumption. The continued rise in smoking is linked to the circulation of illegal cigarettes, which threaten public health, state revenue, and the national tobacco industry. This study aims to examine the distribution dynamics of illicit cigarettes and analyze stakeholder strategies to combat the issue. Methods: A qualitative approach was used, involving interviews, document analysis, and literature review. Data were analyzed thematically to explore patterns in stakeholder roles and motivations. Findings: Economic incentives drive the illegal cigarette trade, which disrupts legal markets and undermines tax revenue. Stakeholder participation varies by institutional interest and authority, influencing enforcement outcomes. Weak coordination and limited use of economic intelligence were identified as key challenges. Conclusion: Addressing illegal cigarette distribution requires stronger stakeholder collaboration and strategic use of economic intelligence. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study provides new insights into the role of economic intelligence and stakeholder dynamics in tackling illicit cigarette trade in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have established close ties, including cooperation in the defense sector. The development of global trends has made national security issues the axis of interest in every country. National security is not only related to military threats, but includes various aspects such as economic, political, social and cultural. Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are two countries that have close relations by collaborating in various fields, one of which is in the defense sector. Based on Buzan's securitization theory, identity conflict, regional hegemony, and the threat of terrorism are included as threats to the components of national security, namely the idea of the state, the physical basis of the state, and the institutional expression of the state. Researchers use systematic reviews as a method in research which is also used to determine research gaps. This study uses search engines such as Taylor & Francis Online, JSTOR, Tandfonline, ProQuest, and Google Scholar to search for various credible sources in the form of journals, articles, and empirical studies. The author finds that identity conflict, regional hegemony, and the threat of terrorism are threat factors that influence national security. So, the change in the status of defense industry cooperation from Business-to-Business (B2B) to Government-to-Government (G2G) appears as an interesting issue to analyze the factors and impacts.

Abstract

The KONI Grant Fund Bribery corruption case at the Ministry of Youth and Sports violated the integrity pact, which decreased public trust. This research aims to analyze the types of image restoration strategies implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and which strategies most influence public trust or can restore the image of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The research uses a mixed sequential exploratory approach (starting from the qualitative method stage and continuing to the quantitative method). The research results show that the Ministry of Youth and Sports implements six image restoration strategies to increase the level of public trust, namely: reducing offensiveness strategy, mortification strategy, denial strategy, evading of responsibility strategy, and corrective action strategy. A new strategy, the professional imaging strategy, was discovered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The results of the causality analysis show that the evading of responsibility and mortification strategies have the most significant influence in increasing public trust. On the other hand, the Ministry of Youth and Sports needs to avoid professional imaging strategies because, statistically, it negatively and significantly decreases public trust. Recommendations from the Ministry of Youth and Sports need to convince the public that the KPK OTT case of KONI Grant bribery does not represent the agency and that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to controlling employee performance by prioritizing integrity.
