Abstract

Pengetahuan tentang bencana merupakan alasan utama seseorang untuk melakukan kegiatan perlindungan atau upaya kesiapsiagaan. Oleh sebab itu perlu adanya upaya untuk mengurangi risiko bencana tersebut. Pengurangan risiko bencana merupakan langkah untuk mengurangi risiko yang ditimbulkan oleh bencana melalui berbagai cara yang maksimal dalam menghadapi bencana. Salah satu bencana yang yaitu banjir, banjir merupakan bahaya akibat air mengenai lahan yang rendah di sekitar sungai dikarenakan alur sungai sudah tidak bias menampung dan mengalirkan air sehingga air meluap mengenai daerah sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan mengenai pengurangan risiko bencana banjir di SMK Muhammadiyah Cawas. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan random sampling dengan 183 responden. Analisis pengetahuan menggunakan Uji T dengan prasyarat uji normalitas dan homogenitas yang kemudian dianalisis dengan mann whitney dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima variabel memiliki nilai yang berbeda-beda.

Abstract

Natural disaster that have occurred in several regions in Indonesia in recent years have increased public attention to disasters. In addition in disaster caused by endogenous energy, disaster in Indonesia are also caused by exogenous forces such as disasters related to hydrometeorological conditions, including tornadoes, drought, floods, and fires. Munggur Villaged in Andong District Boyolali Regency has the potential for drought, tornado, and fire disasters. However, information regarding these disasters is minimal received, so it is necessary to increase understanding of the concept of disaster and disaster mitigation to support disaster risk reduction. The aim of this activity was to increase the understanding about the concept of disaster and disaster mitigation. The method of implementation was by conducting disaster and mitigation socialization to residents of Munggur Village. Based on the result of this community service implementation, it was found that there was an increase in understanding of the concept of disaster and disaster mitigation. However, Further socialization or training is needed to strengthen the understanding and skills of the residents.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is a country with a high level of volcanic activity, including repeated eruptions of Mount Merapi, which have had an impact on the environment and surrounding communities. In this context, strengthening teacher capacity is essential to improve disaster literacy and adaptation in schools so that it can support student preparedness and resilience in facing disaster risks. The purpose of this community service activity is further to strengthen teachers' understanding of disaster adaptation and literacy. This community service activity further strengthens teachers' understanding of disaster adaptation and literacy skills. Methods: Community service activities use socialization and education methods related to disaster adaptation and literacy skills. In addition, the community service team encourages participants to understand the integration of disaster material in the learning process to encourage increased disaster adaptation and literacy skills. Results: The results of the community service show that after participating in this activity, participants began to understand the importance of integrating disaster material into the learning process because it will be related to 21st-century skills. Participants also realized that through this integration, lifelong learning can be achieved. Conclusion: Disaster material is still very limited in its integration into learning; it is necessary to have an understanding and readiness from each teacher in the field of science to understand and integrate it into every learning activity.
