Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kemampuan siswa SMP se-Manggarai Raya dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subyek penelitian yang diambil terdiri dari 501 siswa yang tersebar di 10 SMP yang terdapat di Manggarai raya. Pemilihan subjek penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berbentuk instrumen tes uraian yang memuat indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara kuantitatif berdasarkan rubrik penilaian yang telah dibuat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, telah diperoleh bahwa dari 501 peserta didik yang tersebar di Manggarai Raya, sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori rendah dan sangat rendah. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematis siswa sebesar 4,80, dengan 43,7% siswa melakukan kesalahan menulis informasi yang relevan dalam pemecahan masalah serta 65,3% siswa tidak mampu menyelesaikan masalah yang tidak rutin. Temuan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini, dapat memberikan gambaran umum tentang profil kemampuan siswa SMP dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Hal ini dapat memberikan dorongan kepada guru untuk lebih memperhatikan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Selain itu, diharapkan agar dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran selanjutnya, guru lebih mengakrabkan siswa dengan latihan soal yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah.

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal how the Manggarai community used mathematical concepts in making the traditional house (Mbaru Niang) roof of Manggarai people and what were the mathematical concepts contained in it. This research used a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. The selection of subjects in this study used purposive sampling technique. Data obtained by interviewing, observing and documenting. The validity of the data is supported through theory and facts in the field and also through expert judgment. The results showed that in the stages of the process of making the traditional house roof of Manggarai there were 3 activities that had a mathematical nuance namely designing, numerating and measuring and the mathematical concepts contained in the traditional house roof were the concept of the shapes namely triangles, rectangles, trapezoid and circles, the concept of distance, the concept of parallel lines, and lines and the pyramid.

Abstract

Computer-based Mathematics Learning (CBML) has become global in the last decade, providing opportunities for more significant interaction between schools and their environment. Although CBML has been widely applied, few studies highlight its growth trajectory, especially high-quality studies and those in the Scopus document. This study identifies CBML-related research that can provide a global perspective on learning and the development of the further investigation. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis was conducted to identify 651 journal articles between 2010 and 2023 using the Scopus database. Data search uses the publish or perish application, and the VOS viewer program assists in analyzing theme linkages. This research addresses two issues: (i) reviewing the growth trajectory of CBML-related studies; and (ii) mapping between themes to identify gaps and the most important topics. The analysis results show that the study's trajectory appears fluid and is mediated by the impact of social restrictions due to Covid-19. The main topics and research gaps are discussed. Several implications are presented as helpful information for scientists and stakeholders.
