Abstract

Election of village heads (pilkades) through the e-voting mechanism is a new thing in Indonesia, only held since 2013 and so far only covers 526 villages out of 70 thousand villages throughout Indonesia. The introduction of advanced technology in this pilkades has also raised several new aspects, one of which is the response and participation of the community, an important topic because it is directly related to the ongoing democratization process. This paper wants to reveal a description of the responses, interests and community participation in the village head elections in Biyuku village, Soak Tapeh sub-district and villages of Sukaraja Baru and Terentang, Bayuasin III sub-district, all in South Sumatra Province, which was held on November 16, 2017. Data for qualitative research on this topic was collected through in-depth interviews with relevant parties (village officials, electoral committees, community members) and literature review. The results of data analysis showed that the general public welcomed with enthusiasm the use of e-voting mechanisms in the organization of this pilkades. In line with this, the level of voter participation in voting has also increased sharply, for the village of Biyuku reaching 77% compared to only about 60% in pilkades with conventional mechanisms. It's just that it hasn't been revealed yet, the use of e-voting in this pilkades has increased community political participation in a substantive way. Thus, the Government through the Ministry of Communication and Information as well as the Village Community Development Agency / Agency at the regional government level need to broaden the scope and strengthen the quality of the use of e-voting mechanisms in the pilkades in this country, in accordance with the expectations of the community. Pemilihan kepala desa (pilkades) melalui mekanisme e-voting merupakan hal yang baru di Indonesia, baru dilaksanakan sejak tahun 2013 dan sejauh ini baru mencakup 526 desa dari 70 ribu desa di seluruh Indonesia. Pengenalan teknologi maju dalam pilkades ini juga telah memunculkan beberapa aspek baru yang salah satu di antaranya adalah tanggapan dan partisipasi masyarakat, satu topik penting karena terkait langsung dengan proses demokratisasi yang sedang berlangsung. Tulisan ini ingin mengungkapkan gambaran tentang tanggapan, minat dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pilkades di desa Biyuku, Kecamatan Soak Tapeh dan desa-desa Sukaraja Baru dan Terentang, Kecamatan Bayuasin III, semuanya di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, yang dilaksanakan tanggal 16 November 2017 yang lalu. Data untuk penelitian kualitatif tentang topik ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pihak-pihak terkait (perangkat desa, panitia pemilihan, anggota masyarakat) serta kajian kepustakaan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan, masyarakat secara umum menyambut dengan antusias penggunaan mekanisme e-voting dalam penyelenggaraan pilkades ini. Seturut dengan ini, tingkat partisipasi pemilih dalam pemberian suara juga meningkat tajam, untuk desa Biyuku mencapai 77% berbanding dengan hanya sekitar 60% dalam pilkades dengan mekanisme konvensional. Hanya saja memang belum terungkap, penggunaan e-voting dalam pilkades ini telah meningkatkan partisipasi politik masyarakat secara substantif. Dengan demikian, Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informasi serta Dinas/Badan Pembangunan Masyarakat Desa di tingkat pemerintahan daerah perlu memperluas cakupan dan lebih memantapkan kualitas penggunaan mekanisme e-voting dalam pilkades di negeri ini, sesuai dengan harapan masyarakat.

Abstract

Konflik tanah merupakan salah satu bentuk konflik terkait dengan kepemilikan tanah terutama lahan perkebunan. Konflik tanah banyak terjadi di Propinsi Sumatera Selatan, khususnya di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI). Penelitian ini membahas tentang beberapa kasus terkait dengan kepemilikan lahan di Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), serta upaya yang dilakukan dalam penyelesaian konflik tersebut. Strategi penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus, dimana dalam penelitian ini lebih menekankan pada proses, karena menjelaskan tentang proses penyelesaian konflik tanah perkebunan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara mendalam, serta dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) Pada tahun 2021 hingga 2022 terdapat 22 kasus terkait dengan kepemilikan tanah perkebunan, namun yang dapat diselesaikan melalui mediasi hanya 7 kasus; 2) Upaya penyelesaikan kasus tersebut yaitu dengan menggunakan mediasi dengan melibatkan pihak ketiga yang disebut sebagai ”mediator”. Pihak ketiga dalam kasus ini adalah perwakilan dari Dinsas Pertanahan Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), aparat desa setempat, serta aparat penegak hukum. Namun upaya mediasi juga dianggap selesai meskipun kasus tersebut tidak dapat diselesaikan melalui musyawarah mufakat, lalu dapat dilanjutkan melalui jalur hukum.

All the problems and issues that currently no longer recognize national borders have caused international communication tools or languages to become one of the basic needs of the world community, especially in forming the character and leadership skills of the younger generation who are ready to be involved globally in the future, so that the aim of the activity This is to provide an understanding of how to build global leadership character and the importance of mastering a foreign language as a tool of international communication and an instrument in understanding global issues, and can be done using fun methods, the method used is a mentoring activity which consists of 2 activity session, namely the delivery of several materials and foreign language learning using the game method. Abstract

Generasi muda Indonesia menghadapi krisis identitas dan memudarnya nilai kebangsaan akibat pengaruh globalisasi dan budaya asing. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, Tim Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Sriwijaya bersama Karang Taruna Desa Sungai Rengas I melaksanakan kegiatan pemutaran dan diskusi film bertema kepahlawanan, dengan fokus pada film “Jenderal Soedirman.” Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran kebangsaan pemuda melalui pemutaran dan diskusi film Jenderal Soedirman. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup empat tahapan, yaitu pre-test, bedah film, penyampaian materi dan diskusi, dan post-test. Peserta sebanyak 30 pemuda Karang Taruna Desa Rengas I. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari 71% menjadi 100%. Dampak kegiatan terlihat dari meningkatnya pemahaman dan partisipasi generasi muda dalam kegiatan kebangsaan.

Abstract

Women's empowerment is a good step to develop and improve women's competencies, especially for ‎housewives. This research examines the process of community empowerment in recycled waste ‎management in Kelurahan II Ilir, with a focus on the Kebumen Gemilang Sejahtera (KGS) Waste Bank. ‎There are five main processes observed, namely enabling, strengthening, protecting, supporting, and ‎maintaining which are used to create a supportive climate, increase knowledge and skills, and encourage ‎community independence and innovation in waste management for housewives. The method used is ‎analytic descriptive qualitative method. The qualitative research method is considered capable of describing ‎the process of empowering housewives by the KGS Waste Bank. As a result, the community, especially ‎housewives, managed to develop skills in waste management, become independent and innovative, and can ‎spread their knowledge to other parties. This empowerment program has succeeded in creating a positive ‎impact in protecting the environment and improving the welfare of the community.

Abstract

This study discusses the movements of the Instagram community @toleransi.id in promoting religious moderation through nonviolent campaigns during online radicalism and religious extremism. Instagram is used as a tool to achieve religious harmony. However, the community faces challenges such as digital repression and restrictions on the freedom of religious expression. The research method involves qualitative descriptive content analysis. Furthermore, digital ethnography is used to holistically understand the cultural and social experiences of @toleransi.id community activities in the digital world of Instagram. Data were collected through observation and documentation of digital content published by @toleransi.id from 2019 to 2023. Data analysis involved symbol classification, determination of analysis criteria, and analysis using the theoretical and conceptual frameworks of nonviolent campaigns, networked social movements, and religious moderation. The results show that this community faces semantic and behavioral barriers due to the open autonomy space of the internet. They use tactics such as creative and inclusive digital content, dialogue spaces, intellectual discourse, and Instagram as a campaign platform to influence public opinion and build networks. The findings contribute to the study of social movements and religious moderation by showing how @toleransi.id initiated a religious moderation movement with a nonviolent campaign initiated by the Internet autonomy space
