Abstract

Abstract

The increasing population is followed by a rise in waste production, both organic and inorganic. A preliminary survey showed that households generate a large amount of organic waste that has not been properly processed. The community tends to dispose of waste at landfills and then burn it. The aim of this activity is to implement the Eco-Friendly Project by converting organic waste into eco-enzyme in Kemuning Lor Village, Jember Regency. The target participants of this community service activity are members of the PKK, health cadres, youth groups, and village officials. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding, and they were able to independently produce eco-enzyme from organic waste. It is recommended that continuous activities be conducted to provide health education to the community, and that the results of this community service activity be disseminated widely to the public.

Abstract

Manual management of medical records at the Polije Polyclinic causes long data retrieval time, misfiling, and requiring a lot of spaces for storage, thus hampering health services. Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are one type of medical record management that can be used to solve the issue. EMR is built based on Software as a Service (SaaS) which enables it to be used by all healthcare providers with minimal infrastructure and optimal data integration. The application used a single identity number for each patient, and it caused less redundancy in patient registration data. Developed using the Waterfall method, it was processed at several stages: analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The EMR system had some features: recording history, diagnosis, and therapy. In the diagnosis section, the system had a disease code related to ICD-10. It can be concluded that the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is ready to be implemented in the POLIJE polyclinic. The implementation of EMR is important to reinforce the Regulation of the Indonesian Minister of Health Number 24 of 2022 concerning Medical Records.

Abstract

Manual patient registration at the Polyclinic of Politeknik Negeri Jember (POLIJE) offers ineffectiveness in the patient services. Long waiting time and uninformed service hours at the polyclinic are two problems that need to solve. This study aimed to design a website-based registration system for the POLIJE Polyclinic. The researcher used the FAST (Framework for the Application of System Thinking) method. This method has detailed stages and is capable of producing more efficient, effective, accurate and timely data and information management. The application was built using PHP programming language with Laravel Framework. The registration system was implemented using RFId on patient cards to make the process of reading and registering patient data faster. The web-based registration system with RFId patient cards functions well with features: new patient registration, registration of patient visits with RFId cards, patient queues, verification of patients who register online, as well as patient, doctor and clinic data management.

Abstract

The Health Department has nineteen laboratories that serve various important purposes, including practicums and learning, supporting clinical research, clinical case simulations, research and system development, professional training, and health services. Despite their significance, these laboratories face challenges in presenting their profiles effectively to the public and stakeholders. This research aims to develop an Information System designed specifically for these laboratories to improve visibility and access to information regarding their services, technology, achievements, and advantages. The research follows a prototyping method to develop the system, which is chosen due to its flexibility, the complexity of the laboratories' needs, and the iterative nature of system development. The research was conducted over a period of six months, and the main steps involved included: early prototype development, rapid design and system testing. The web-based Laboratory Information System has been successfully developed and deployed, effectively addressing the challenges of information presentation, and supporting the growth and development of the laboratories.

Abstract

The rate of late returns of outpatient medical records at the Ajung Jember Health Center increased from 5.36% in July 2022–April 2023 to 20.07% in January–February 2024. Several factors are believed to contribute to these delays, including inadequate staff qualifications, the absence of rewards and punishments, suboptimal training, and ineffective implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs). This study analyzes these delay factors using McCormick and Tiffin's performance theory, which considers both individual and situational factors. A qualitative research method was applied, with research subjects including the head of the puskesmas, registration officers, and other medical personnel. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and brainstorming sessions, and analyzed using data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicated that individual factors included the educational background of medical record officers and suboptimal application of punishment. Situational factors included a lack of training, inadequate SOP implementation, and ineffective expedition forms. It is expected that Puskesmas Ajung will conduct socialization with the officers involved in the return process, optimize the application of punishment, provide training related to medical record management (especially for staff involved in the return process), review the SOP, and add a borrowing date column as a monitoring tool.
