Abstract

The learning process in the classroom is currently still using sources from textbooks books that make students bored so that students learning interest is reduced and does not arouse students' curiosity in the learning process, the availability of learning support books is needed, one of them is by developing modules. Module specifications were developed based on the results of Invertebrate exploration. The purpose of this study is, (1) to explain the types of Invertebrates found to compile modules, (2) to find the characteristics of modules (3) to test the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Invertebrate module based in PjBL. This research is an R & D conducted in SMA N 1 Sungai Raya, class X in the 2018/2019 school year. The results showed as many as 20 types of several Invertebrate phylum found on Lemukutan Island and Kakap Estuary Coast. The results of the module validation from the material experts 89.80 and 98.38 media experts with very valid criteria. The practicality results of students 86.46 with very practical criteria, and effectiveness seen from the cognitive results with classical completeness of 97%, and the psychomotor value of students amounted to 91.53 with very good criteria. The conclusion from this study is that the Invertebrate module in PjBL-based is valid, practical, and effective in the learning process.

Abstract

Teacher-centered learning makes students feel unmotivated to learning without the latest innovations in learning. Especially during Covid-19 virus pandemic that makes educational institutions have to dismiss students and make teachers need innovation with new online learning. There needs to be change in the learning process that can arouse student’s motivation. Motivation can affect students' critical thinking abilities. The purpose of this study is to analyze differences and enhancement of motivation and critical thinking abilities between group of students who apply of news based online learning compared with not as the control group. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quantitative approach. The sample of this research are taken through randomize sampling. The results of the t-test showed significant different (sig. 0.01) of motivation between the classes that applied news based online learning with control classes. T-test results also showed significant different in critical thinking (sig. 0.00). N-Gain of motivation for the experimental group was 0.31 while the control group was 0.12. Meanwhile, N-Gain of critical thinking in the experimental group was 0.67, while the control group was 0.33. The results indicate that the application of the news-based online learning can increase students' motivation and critical thinking. Students who were taught with news-based online learning are more active in expressing their opinions and they are eager to participate in learning activities.

Abstract

The learning of integrated science should be supported by several things including the existence of Learning Media. The reality is that at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo, there are not many interesting learning media found. Even though the learning media is very important for the realization of student interest and learning outcomes. Therefore, it is necessary to develop Pop Up Book as a Learning Media. The purpose of this research is to develop Pop Up Book as learning media material on the interaction of living things with the environment, its validity and effectiveness as a learning media, and to find out how much student interest in using of Pop Up Books as a learning media. The method of research is use Research and Development (R&D). The validity test was carried out by media experts and material experts using a questionnaire. The effectiveness of learning media was measured based on the N-Gain value indicator from the pretest-posttest results, as well as the teacher and student response questionnaire scores. Student learning interest is measured based on the questionnaire score of student learning interest. The test of the effectiveness of learning media was carried out at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo, Tawangharjo District, Grobogan Regency, in grade VII. The results showed that the validation score of the media expert reached 88.19%, while the validation score of the material expert validation reached 90.69% with an average of 89.44%, which means that the learning media could be elassified valid. The results of the analysis of the effectiveness of the media based on the N-Gain value were 0.8, which means that the increase in the pretest posttest could be classified as high criteria. The scores for the questionnaire responses from teachers and students were 92.50% and 86.46%, both of which were very effective. The percentage of interest in learning reached 90.09% with very good criteria. Based on these indicators, it can be concluded that the Pop Up Book as a Learning Media is declared valid by media and material experts, is effectively used in learning and is able to generate interest in learning at MTs Putera Sunniyyah Selo in the very good category.
