Methods: The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling through a cross sectional approach. Respondents in this study were riders aged 17 years and over as many as 373 riders who met the exclusion and inclusion criteria. Work position was measured using REBA, Work Duration was measured using a work duration questionnaire, while Suspect carpal tunnel syndrome complaints were measured using Phalen's Test. Results: The Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test shows a significance value (p) of 0.000, meaning that the data is not normally distributed (p <0.05). Then the correlation test between the two variables using the Spearman's rho test (p), namely the work position with complaints of suspected carpal tunnel syndrome obtained results (p=0.025; r=0.116 *) which means there is a significant relationship between the two variables and for the duration of work with complaints of suspected carpal tunnel syndrome obtained results (p=0.448; r=0.39) which means there is no relationship between the two variables. Conclusions: The distribution of maxim online motorcycle taxi drivers' work positions in the city of Makassar is dominated by respondents who experience the high risk category and category of work duration are more than 8 hours/day. Abstract

Aging is a natural process in the human life cycle. The increase in life expectancy has a positive impact on quality of life, but it also brings various consequences, one of which is the decline in physical and cognitive functions. As they age, the elderly become more susceptible to musculoskeletal disorders, which in turn increase the risk of falling. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding and awareness of the elderly regarding the importance of preventing falls and musculoskeletal disorders through ergonomic education and posture screening. The activity, themed "Ergonomics for Elderly Safety," was organized by the Physiotherapy Study Program, Faculty of Nursing, Hasanuddin University, on December 15, 2023, at the Tamalanrea Health Center, involving 30 elderly participants from the Prolanis program. The series of events included ergonomic counseling, demonstrations of ergonomic exercises, and posture screening using the Functional Reach Test and the Apley Scratch Test. The results of the Functional Reach Test showed an average reach of 26,88 cm, indicating a low risk of falling. Meanwhile, the Apley Scratch Test results revealed an average reach of 9,82 cm for the right arm and 16,95 cm for the left arm, reflecting the presence of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly in the left upper extremity. These findings highlight the importance of continuing ergonomic education and posture screening programs as part of preventive efforts to reduce the risk of falls and musculoskeletal disorders in the elderly.

Abstract

Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara berat beban dan posisi angkat beban dengan keluhan neck pain pada buruh angkut di Pelabuhan Soekarno-Hatta Kota Makassar Kata kunci : Berat beban, Nyeri leher, Posisi angkat   Ports have a strategic role in loading and unloading activities and inter-island trade, with porters as the main workforce in the process of moving goods. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between load weight and load lifting position with neck pain complaints in porters at Soekarno-Hatta Port, Makassar City. This study is a quantitative study with a descriptive analytical design and uses a cross-sectional study design which aims to determine the relationship between load weight and load lifting position with neck pain complaints in porters at Soekarno-Hatta Port, Makassar City. The results of this study showed that port porters with heavy load categories were 36 people (48%), medium load categories were 39 people (52%) and there were no porters with light load categories. For lifting positions, the moderate risk category is 4 people (5.3%), high risk 34 people (45.3%), very high risk 37 people (49.3%) and there are no porters with low risk lifting positions. For neck pain complaints, respondents with moderate neck pain complaints are 4 people (5.3%), high complaints 39 people (52%), very high complaints 32 people (42.7%). Based on the results of the Spearman-rho test, a significant relationship was found between load weight and neck pain complaints (p = 0.003) and a relationship was found between lifting positions and neck pain complaints (p = <0.001). T`he conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between load weight and lifting position with neck pain complaints in porters at Soekarno-Hatta Port, Makassar City Keywords : Weight of Load, Lifting Position, Neck Pain
