Abstract

Mortar is material used in non-structural elements. The increasing of quality of the mortar can be obtained by adding other alternative materials to its constituent materials. The materials that have pozzolan characteristic can increase the compressive strength of the mortar. Fly ash has a pozzolan characteristic and contains silica so that it can be used as an additive to cement. This study aims to know the compressive strength of mortar by using fly ash as the additional material of cement with the ratio of cement to fine agregate were 1pc : 3ps on 14, 21, and 28 days. The sample of the mortar is a cuboid sized 50mm x 50mm x 50mm. The variations of fly ash used were 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% with 7 samples in each variations. The range of initial flow values was between 105%-115% (SNI 03-6882-2002). The biggest compressive strength value for normal mortar is 11.15 MPa and the biggest compressive strength for the variation of mortar is 14.43 MPa at 15% variation at 28 days. The percentage increase in the compressive strength of the mortar is 29,48% from normal mortar.

Abstract

Bangunan Gedung harus memenuhi persyaratan SNI. GOR seluma diuji kelayakannya berdasarkan permintaan dari KPK. Sampel beton diambil dengan cara core drill untuk diuji kuat tekannya, ternyata kuat tekan yang didapat kurang dari yang disyaratkan. Struktur di reanalisa dengan menggunakan properties material eksisting. Pemodelan struktur dilakukan untuk mengetahui gaya-gaya dalam yang terjadi pada elemen struktur serta perilaku struktur akibat beban yang bekerja. Hasil dari pemodelan struktur digunakan sebagai dasar untuk mendesain dimensi penampang elemen struktur beserta tulangan yang diperlukan. Hasil Analisa menunjukkan kondisi beberapa kolom K1, K2 dan K3 serta balok-balok BL2 dan BL3 dinyatakan tidak aman, yang memungkinkan munculnya potensi kegagalan struktur pada gedung ini pada kondisi ekstrim seperti gempa bumi dan kondisi pembebanan penuh. Pilihan metode rekayasa yang dapat dilakukan antara lain: melakukan uji beban untuk memastikan struktur yang terpasang telah memenuhi syarat, mengubah fungsi gedung sedemikian sehingga beban hidup yang harus ditanggung tereduksi dan memperkuat struktur yang terindikasi tidak aman.

Abstract

This study aims to compare structural modeling with the addition of wall elements and without walls with the help of SAP2000 software. The method used in this study is time history analysis using the San Fernando groundmotion data. Based on the modeling that has been done, the participation of the variance mass has reached 90% for structures with walls in mode 278 while without walls in mode 243. The addition of walls in this study resulted in a decrease in the drift value. The average percentage of settlement of each floor is 40.12% for the X direction and 30.26% for the Y direction. The addition of walls can also reduce the period value of the structure, where the structure with walls has a period value of 1.0804 seconds while the structure without walls is 1 ,2016 sec.   Keywords: Building Structure, Infill Wall, Drift, Time History Analysis

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using kaolin on the compressive strength of mortar compared to normal mortar, as well as to identify the optimum percentage of kaolin that yields the highest compressive strength. The research uses an experimental method with references from journals. The test specimens are made using cube molds with dimensions of 5 cm × 5 cm × 5 cm, totaling 100 specimens. Compressive strength tests will be conducted at the ages of 7, 14, 21, and 28 days.The cement replacement variations using kaolin are 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, and 50%. The highest compressive strength value occurred at the 10% kaolin variation on day 28, with an average strength of 23.8 MPa. Compared to normal mortar, which has a strength of 23.6 MPa, the increase in compressive strength with 10% kaolin is minimal. Meanwhile, mortar with more than 20% kaolin shows a decrease in compressive strength compared to normal mortar.

Abstract

Learning strategies are one of the key components in the teaching and learning process. Numerous studies have stated that the Teams Games Tournament (TGT), which is a part of cooperative learning strategies, has proven effective in improving student learning outcomes. However, its application in teaching Qira'ah Jahriyah (reading aloud) has not been widely explored. Therefore, researchers conducted a study at MTs.S Pondok Pesantren Al-Muttaqin Balai Belo Agam to determine the effectiveness of the TGT strategy in learning Qira'ah Jahriyah. The research employed a quantitative approach with experimental methods and utilized a Quasi-Experimental Design with purposive sampling. The sample consisted of 8th-grade students divided into two classes. Data collection was conducted using tests, and data analysis was performed using the t-test in SPSS 22. In the experimental class, the minimum posttest score was 75 and the maximum was 95, with a mean of 83.21. In the control class, the minimum score was 60 and the maximum was 85, with a mean of 73.57. The results showed that the t-test, Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant influence of the TGT cooperative learning strategy on the Qira'ah Jahriyah learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at MTs.S Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Balai Belo Agam.

Abstract

In Senior High School, Arabic language assessments mostly focus on memorizing grammar rules (tarkib) and recalling information in reading comprehension (Qira’ah). This assessment does not improve students’ abilities to analyze complex texts, evaluate arguments, or apply grammatical knowledge in new contexts. In Eleventh Grade, the Tasawwuq chapter of the Arabic textbook includes only 21% Higher-Order Thinking Skills questions, while 79% focus on Lower-Order Thinking Skills, such as remembering and understanding. This study aims to develop an Arabic assessment focused on tarkib and qiraah skills. The ADDIE model was used in five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study used a qualitative approach to collect data, including documantation and questionnaires. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. In the analysis stage, LOTS questions were identified more than HOTS questions. For the student needs analysis, a questionnaire was distributed to 60 respondents, resulting in an average score of 4.19. The design stage involved developing an outline and question matrix, creating HOTS-based questions, formulating a scoring system, and establishing a rubric. During the development stage, questions were constructed in accordance with HOTS criteria, incorporating eight specific HOTS indicators. Implementation was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 4 Agam in the eleventh grade. Evaluation results demonstrated that the Arabic assessment for Tarkib and Qira’ah, based on Higher Order Thinking Skills, effectively enhanced the critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade students at the state madrasah aliyah, as indicated by a significance value (2-tailed) of less than 0.05.

Abstract

The moral crisis in education has become a challenge for educators, society, and parents. This article discusses the research findings on students’ moral crises by analyzing articles related to morality in the Journal of Islamic Education in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in six stages: formulation of research questions, search for data, inclusion and exclusion criteria, quality assessment, data collection, and analysis. The primary data in this study consist of articles published in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) from 2021 to 2024, focusing on morality. These articles are written in either Indonesian or English. Relevant articles as primary data were found on the Garuda Kemendikbud website. Secondary data refers to data gathered from other relevant literature, such as books, theses, and documentation. According to the study results, over the past four years, the number of publications focused on morality has increased. Among these publications, the most common research approach is quantitative, with the research subjects primarily at the Senior High School level. The moral crisis among students is influenced by media, technology, and the family environment. Exposure to inappropriate content and destructive values from social media weakens students’ morals, while disharmony in the family has a negative impact on character development.
