Abstract

Gold mining carried out by local communities has a negative impact on environmental conditions, especially pollution in the Kahayan River basin. The purpose of this study was to describe the pollution control carried out by the government in the Rungan River basin which was polluted due to gold mining activities carried out by the community in Parempei Village, Central Kalimantan. The research method used in this study was the observation method. The use of mercury by local gold miners on a small scale is the main cause of pollution in the Rungan River basin, so that it exceeds the acceptable water quality standards. The findings of this study indicate that the efforts made by the government in overcoming pollution in the Rungan River basin are still lacking, which is also caused by several factors such as the lack of binding government affirmation regarding river pollution control, lack of public awareness in protecting the environment, and poor practices in imposing sanctions and law enforcement for miners.

Abstract

Penelitian di lakukan pada Sungai Katingan, khususnya Desa Garagu Kecamatan Pulau Malan Kabupaten Katingan Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas air pada Sungai Katingan yang diakibatkan oleh adanya aktivitas penambangan emas dan persepsi masyarakat terkait penggunaan air Sungai Katingan. Berdasarkan hasil uji laboratorium dan standar baku mutu air Sungai Katingan pada kelas I ada 6 paramater yang tidak sesuai dengan standar baku mutu adalah TSS,Fe, Mn, Cu, BOD, serta COD. Pada kelas II yaitu BOD dan Cu, Kelas III yaitu BOD dan Cu, dan kelas IV yaitu DO. Pengambilan persepsi masyarakat menggunakan kuesioner dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan tabel Isaac dan Michael dengan total 100 responden, dengan hasil sebagai berikut yaitu 62 jawaban untuk sarana transportasi air, 41 jawaban digunakan sebagai sarana budidaya ikan air tawar, peternakan serta mengairi tanaman, 13 jawaban untuk MCK dan 22 jawaban tidak menggunakan. Hal ini dapat di simpulkan bahwa kualitas air Sungai Katingan tercemar dengan adanya parameter yang tidak sesuai dengan standar baku mutu air akibat aktivitas penambangan emas serta tidak layak untuk di gunakan pada kelas I-III dan paling aman di gunakan untuk kelas IV (mengairi tanaman) berdasarkan standar baku mutu air. Persepsi masyarakat dengan jawaban terbanyak sebagai sarana transportasi air hal ini karena akses untuk menuju Desa Garagu hanya bisa di akses dengan ferry penyebrangan atau transportasi air. Abstract

This study was conducted at PT Satria Alam Manunggal Site TOP to analyze the effect of road geometry conditions on the performance of Scania P410-B6x4 transport equipment in overburden material transportation activities. The haul route from the front to the disposal site is 2.4 km long, with an average hauler productivity of 33 BCM/hour, while the company's target is set at 40 BCM/hour. This situation indicates an issue with the hauler's travel time when transporting overburden material from the front to the disposal site, resulting in the hauler's productivity not being achieved. The analysis was conducted by dividing the haul road into 29 segments, consisting of 27 straight segments and 7 curved segments. The minimum width of straight roads is 9.1 meters for two lanes and 5.2 meters for one lane, while for curves, the minimum width is 16.29 meters and 9.31 meters, with a maximum road gradient (grade) of 8%, as well as other elements such as curve radius, superelevation, cross slope, safety berm, and drainage channels, also affect operational comfort and safety. The objective of this study is to evaluate and provide recommendations for road geometry improvements to meet technical standards, thereby reducing travel time and increasing transportation vehicle productivity.
