Abstract

This paper highlighted the social change of peasant in the process of facing any struggling movement. Applying a qualitative method and case study approach, the data in this research were collected by observation, interview, and document study. The data were analyzed using the theory of “Social-Economic Morality”. By analyzing the data using this theory this article revealed the changing society in terms of peasant political attitude. This research found three important aspects. Firstly, compromise is a kind of strategy applied by peasants in their movement. Because there are no supporting factors for peasants to avoid the state’s hegemony and exploitation, so the only strategy to deal with the expansive tendency of capitalism is by changing the political attitude of peasants. Secondly, the organizational consolidation is claiming peasant’s rights. Thirdly, capacity development through the empowerment process is a form of compromise way of peasants’ movement. These three compromise models are the ways to avoid conflict to escalate.

Result  -  Music in Islamic da'wah is not just a means of conveying messages but a transformative force capable of stirring emotions, building deep spiritual bonds, and challenging the traditional boundaries of da'wah. With its ability to trigger emotional feelings, compassion, and spiritual reflection, music can make religious messages more alive and relevant amidst the dynamics of the modern world. Implication – The use of music in conveying Islamic messages through da'wah must consider ethics, content regulations, and understanding of different cultures. In facing this challenge, intercultural collaboration, education, and awareness of the impact of music in a religious context are needed. Originality/Value - Music is not just a medium but a tool capable of helping individuals internalize religious values, facilitating more profound understanding, and stimulating deep spiritual reflection in humans.*** Tujuan - Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran penting musik dalam implikasi praktis untuk konteks dakwah Islam modern. Abstract

Research on the involvement of the Madurese diaspora in West Kalimantan in establishing pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) and their contributions to peace resilience remains limited. This study aims to investigate why and how the Madurese diaspora engages in peace resilience through the establishment of pesantren. Data were gathered through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analyses using a multiple-case study approach. The results suggest that pesantren have played a vital role in promoting harmony and peace among different ethnic groups through re-education, community empowerment, and interfaith dialogues. This has significant implications for social harmony, cooperation (Handep), social cohesion, solidarity, and the mitigation of ethnic-based provocations. The involvement of pesantren presents a novel perspective on reconstructing strategies for addressing interethnic conflicts, thereby introducing a new cultural construction approach as a framework for future conflict resolution mechanisms.

Abstract

The relationship between local traditions and Islamic family law primarily revolves around marriage, kinship, inheritance, and female’s roles within the family. However, this focus tends to emphasize gender roles, family authority, and individual rights, overlooking the intricate negotiations of values between Islamic traditions and local norms. This raises important questions about how these negotiations occur, the points of convergence, and the challenges faced in establishing a unique local Islamic family identity and legal framework. This study, which examines cases in Negeri Morella, Central Moluccas, aims to address these questions. The findings indicate that the negotiation process has been ongoing for a significant period, heavily influenced by the maternal-oriented Austronesian culture, which has contributed to a distinct Islamic identity within the community. This development has been shaped by the Sufism movement, which emphasizes human excellence (ihsān) at the family level. The negotiations occur at the intersection of customary values and Islamic marriage norms, significantly influenced by the clan (soa), which plays a crucial role as both a customary and religious authority. Although there is apparent harmony, the Morella community faces significant challenges, including tensions between orthodoxy and heterodoxy of religiosity, socio-cultural conflicts, the marginalization of women’s roles during spiritual transitions, and the predominance of Islamic law practices over customary law. This research provides valuable insights into the discussion surrounding the hybridity debate of Islamic family law, particularly regarding the perspectives of puritanical Muslims who often decline indigenous practices of Islamic law.

Abstract

This article attempts to identify the role of communities in transforming economics in the digital age. A case study approach was selected in Yogyakarta City to understand the changing roles of local people in technological advancements. The findings of this research illustrate that the government initiative program, known as “Gage” (Gandeng-Gendong), has evolved into a new space of mediatization for developing entrepreneurial activities through a digital platform. The stakeholder initiation also contributes to the solidity of community bonding by engaging local businesses in developing the incubator entrepreneur, leading to more effective product adaptation to meet consumer needs. It is important that the involvement of three key stakeholder roles, such as Academicians, Businesses, and Government (ABG), be actively integrated into developing digital platform users. This study has evaluated the conflict between human roles and technological advancements. If our understanding of human beings fails to adapt to digital media and illiteracy persists, it could lead to alienation. However, effectively managing enterprise platforms through e-commerce and collaborative pathways can be viewed as a new asset in fostering community development on a larger scale.

Abstract

This article will examine how progressive Islam’s reasoning can be a reference to free human beings from the exploitation and domination of social class? So what social movements can we do in the midst of crush the nation’s problems related to the exploitation of natural resources that increasingly vine? From this point on, I hope to get a meta-theory regulation that can be implied entirely for the benefit of society, in order to be free from exploitation and domination. To answer this important position, the discourse of social movements can be mapped into two, namely old social movement and new social movement. While Islam as a universal religion, there is no need to discuss theological-transcendental issues, but how the theology should create a new, more applicable avenue of dialectics to answer the question the rulers of powers domination. In the hope of a progressive, inclusive, open-minded, and pluralist theological doctrine. The results of this study may contribute to the development of science and the movement that became a turning point and reference in social change.
