Abstract

Since 2007, the Amil Zakat Harapan Duafa Institute (LAZ Harfa) has actively initiated a healthy life movement campaign in the Pandeglang Regency, especially to people who are still practicing open defecation (BABS), due to either the lack of latrines or other factors. “Jamban” in English means latrine. Using the Community Lead Total Sanitation (CLTS) method, this healthy living campaign is focused on the latrine ownership program through the arisan system. An Arisan is a form of rotating savings in Indonesian culture. From the results of research using case studies, this healthy living movement campaign has brought significant results. Through a persuasive communication process as part of the approach to the community strategy, the results were obtained that by the end of 2019 as many as 29 assisted villages in 8 sub-districts in Pandeglang District had been free from the practice of open defecation. This fact shows that the persuasive communication carried out in this healthy living campaign is quite effective and brings the expected results.

Abstract

This study discusses the phenomenon of the use of religious attributes in campaign posters that occurred during the general elections (elections) in 2019, especially in the selection of legislative candidates in Banten Province who were the subject of research, which we know that religious attributes are often used by Muslim communities in Banten in conducting worship or religious activities, but the political elite using religious attributes as a political message in this campaign poster makes a shift in meaning and the motives used. To examine the identification of the problem the researcher used Max Weber's Social Action Theory and Husserl's phenomenological method, interpretative paradigms and qualitative approaches to look for explanations about events and interpret phenomena that occur, in collecting data researchers conducted observations, in-depth interviews, documentation and literature presentations. The results of this study indicate that the motives carried out by legislative candidates in using religious attributes in the campaign poster are because of the disclosure of identity, habits, image formation and culture. For symbolic meaning in daily life and politics used to worship and religious activities, respect religious people and attend formal activities. Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of beauty constructed in the Collagena advertisement with the tagline “No Wrinkles No Pores” starring Song Hye Kyo using the framework of Jean Baudrillard’s semiotic method to examine the concept of hyperreality that shapes contemporary beauty standards. The Collagena advertisement was analyzed using semiotics with a qualitative approach in 11 scenes in the advertisement that lasted 31 seconds. From the results of the research that the researcher analyzed, it shows that the Collagena advertisement constructs an ideal beauty narrative centered on wrinkle-free skin and strong bones at the age of 25 and above for women, and implies that a woman’s value depends on physical perfection even though she is no longer young. The representation of Song Hye Kyo who appears youthful and seems unaffected by the natural process of aging represents a hyperreal beauty that is difficult to achieve for the majority of Indonesian women. The construction of pseudo-reality depicted in the Collagena advertisement covers up the facts about the biology of the aging process and promotes a consumer ideology, where beauty is commodified and standardized following Korean popular culture. This reveals that this advertisement reinforces unrealistic expectations. It gives rise to consumer behavior, and normalizes media actions to beautify themselves according to Korean beauty standards among Indonesian women who try to adapt to these beauty standards.
