Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the implementation of halal as a competitive distinction for Islamic higher education in preparing the Muslim millennials at the State Islamic Institutes. This research employed both quantitative and qualitative (mixed method) by administering questionnaires to final semester students and conducting interviews with the campus program planners. The data were descriptively analyzed by using statistical computation before being interpreted. The finding showed that 72,9% of the students had studied halal concept, 83,3% of them had known halal products from MUI labels, and 45,8% of them understood the maqasid shariah. The results of interviews revealed that the institution is continuing to prepare the establishment of halal study center by collaborating with other institutions.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran IPA terintegrasi menggunakan Ms. Excel dan mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah yang harus disiapkan oleh mahasiswa calon guru maupun guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran IPA menggunakan Ms. Excel. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) model prosedural, yaitu model yang bersifat deskriptif, menunjukkan langkah-langkah yang harus diikuti untuk menghasilkan produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran IPA menggunakan Ms. Excel terdiri dari 2 (dua) langkah utama secara berurutan, yaitu tahap pengembangan media pembelajaran tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Tahap pengembangan media pembelajaran IPA terdiri dari 4 langkah, yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian produk. Tahap pelaksanaan pembelajaran dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi isyarat ilmiah pada QS. Al-A’raf ayat 54, penyampaian materi IPA, dan simulasi dengan Ms. Excel.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity of the Islamic and Indonesian-based contextual scientific literacy assessment instrument (ALSKII) using the Rasch model. This instrument was developed in the context of Covid-19 as a socio-scientific issue that is presented in a structured manner with a plural model, namely scientific and socio-scientific. The scientific model represents the content of science which is presented in three models, namely mechanistic, systematic, and mathematical. The socio-scientific model is a scientific context that is integrated with religion and nation. This instrument has five skills which are made into 25 question items. The sample of this research is 75 final-semester science education students who were selected purposively. The results showed that the Islamic and Indonesian-based contextual scientific literacy assessment instrument was valid and reliable with a person measure the value of 0.73, MNSQ person and item close to 0.0, person and ZSTD item close to 1.0, Cronbach alpha 0.67, person reliability 0.64 and item reliability 0.95. This instrument can be an alternative in the assessment of scientific literacy based on religion and the state. The instrument can also be further developed according to the context and socio-scientific issues that need to be solved in the community.

Abstract

Conventional drying of fish crackers (kerupuk tengiri) relies heavily on sunlight, posing a significant challenge during the rainy season, hindering production and potentially leading to economic losses due to product quality degradation. This research aims to develop and test an alternative drying method using infrared light exposure from incandescent lamps for fish crackers, as an innovative solution for the rainy season. The research method involves designing a simple drying apparatus in the form of a can-oven, equipped with an incandescent lamp, electrical plug, and cables as heat conductors. Fish crackers, as the research object, are dried using this apparatus, and the results are compared with conventional drying. The research emphasizes the effectiveness of infrared radiation heat generated by the incandescent lamp in reducing the moisture content of the crackers. The results of this study are expected to demonstrate that infrared light exposure from incandescent lamps is effective as an alternative drying method, ensuring production continuity and improving the quality of fish crackers in Indonesia during the rainy season.
