Abstract

This research seeks to bridge the gap in religious understanding among teenagers through a community service program. The program's focus is on teenagers in Dusun Bukit, Paya Bujuk Seulemak Village, Langsa City, who often face difficulties in comprehending religious and ethical values. The program aims to enhance their understanding of religion, tajwid (Quranic recitation rules), and foster good Islamic character. Over a span of three months, the training program is structured into four phases: introducing the Quran and its virtues, teaching tajwid, imparting religious knowledge, and nurturing Islamic ethics. The results of this community service initiative indicate that the teenagers have experienced improvements in their understanding of the Quran, tajwid, and religious knowledge. They have also displayed developments in their character and Islamic ethics, such as empathy, honesty, patience, and social concern. Despite encountering various challenges, such as conflicting schedules with work or education, the majority of teenagers have remained consistent in their participation. This research demonstrates the significance of community service programs in addressing the lack of religious understanding among teenagers. A strong religious understanding can assist teenagers in facing everyday challenges and in shaping good character. Furthermore, the program highlights the positive impact of involving parents in program activities in terms of increased support and teenage participation.

Abstract

This article explores the philosophy of stoicism, widely embraced and studied by millennials as a means to address life challenges. The primary aim of this study was to examine the relationship between stoicism and the concept of qana’ah in Islamic teachings, as reflected in the Hadiths of the Kutub Al-Sittah. The analysis focused on Hadiths transmitted by Bukhari on the wealth of the heart, Tirmidhi on qana’ah, and Ibn Majah on the virtues of wara' and asceticism. The findings reveal that both qana'ah and stoicism emphasize self-control in responding to negative emotions and psychological disturbances. They also underscore the distinction between what can be controlled and what cannot, urging individuals to refrain from dwelling on uncontrollable factors. Additionally, both philosophies advocate gratitude, positive assumptions (husnudzan), and sincere acceptance of circumstances, whether favorable or not. Despite their similarities, stoicism primarily centers on self-control, whereas qana’ah consistently incorporates divine values into every aspect of life events. In conclusion, stoic teachings bear a significant resemblance to qana’ah teachings found in the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad. This piece offers novel perspectives on the evolution of spiritual thought in the intricate context of modernity.

Abstract

This research was conducted on clothing manufacturers located in Bandung and Bekasi, as well as on one distributor in Medan. The "hit & run" phenomenon in e-Commerce transactions with the Pre-Order (PO) system has a significant impact on the existence of sales and the operational business of manufacturers. In the Pre-Order model, buyers place orders for products but often fail to make payments or disappear after the goods are sewn. This phenomenon results in stock accumulation, disruption of financial flows, and financial losses for manufacturers. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of the "hit & run" phenomenon on clothing manufacturers and to find solutions to address this issue. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive phenomenological type. Data was collected through interviews with eight clothing manufacturers experienced in PO transactions, using WhatsApp chats and Zoom Meetings. The research findings show that the "hit & run" phenomenon harms manufacturers and causes uncertainty in their business operations. The implications of this study highlight the importance of developing more cautious policies in accepting orders and implementing effective communication strategies to minimize the risk of losses. This research provides an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of e-Commerce transactions with the PO system and valuable insights for manufacturers in managing risks and improving their business continuity in a competitive market.
