Abstract

Abstract

PT. Aneka Tambang Tbk, Geomin unit is part of PT. ANTAM is in charge of exploration issues in the Gee island area, which is then carried out by PT. Minerina Bhakti is carried out with an open mining system. The level of validity of exploration data will be proven after mining activities are carried out, but in reality there is often a difference between the exploration data and the realization of mining, so this study will analyze the causes of differences in exploration results with mining realization, as well as the causes of differences these levels. The drill points mined in June are 19 drill points with exploration Ni content of 2.20% and mining levels 2.27% while July is 16 drill points with an average Ni content of 2.23% and average mining levels 2.20%. Ni difference between exploration and mining realization in June was 0.07% and in July it was 0.04%. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the causes of differences in Ni content between the results of exploration and production are: distribution of uneven deposits, contamination and loss of ore during mining, sampling method, rainwater, and human error.

Abstract

This research was undertaken to study the effect of adding silver nitrate (AgNO3) during leaching of gold ore for Aurecovery. Its focus is to obtain the weight of Au in feed and concentrate, the effect of AgNO3 on Au recovery, theconcentration of AgNO3 that led to optimum recovery, and the weight of bullion and Au content in bullion. This research was conducted using quantitative descriptive method with experimental technique and the research stepsinclude the following: 1) rock and treatment plant preparation, 2) tests with variable AgNO3 concentrations, 3) analysis feed and concentrate samples using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), 4) measurement of concentrate density, 5) burning of activated carbon to get the bullion, and 6) weighing bullion and Au content. There was increase Au recovery from 12.57% to 36.15%. On addition of 0 to 4 gram of AgNO3, whereby highest recovery was obtained on the additionof 4 g of AgNO3 concentration to 150 kg of feed.

Abstract

Quartz sand plays a vital role in various industries due to its unique properties and practical applications. Sukamara Regency is one of the regions with widespread quartz sand distribution. This research was conducted in Teluk Madang, Padang Sub-district, Sukamara District, Sukamara Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. The objectives of this study are to determine the distribution and thickness of quartz sand in the study area and to estimate its resource potential. The research method involved direct field observation, which was then processed into spatial data and resource calculation using the polygon method. Based on the regional geological map of the Pangkalan Bun sheet, the area comprises three geological formations: the Dahor Formation (TQd), Alluvial Deposits (Qa), and Mud Deposits (Qs), all of which show potential for quartz sand accumulation. Geomorphological observations identified three landform units: alluvial plains (51%), swampy lowlands (20%), and undulating terrain (29%). A total of 96 hand-drilled boreholes were carried out across the study area, which covers 4.62 hectares. The thickest quartz sand layer recorded was 3.6–4 meters, while the thinnest was 0.4 meters. The average thickness ranged from 1.3 to 1.8 meters. Using the polygon method, the estimated volume of quartz sand resources is 12,225 m³. With a density of 2.6 g/cm³, the total estimated tonnage of silica sand in the 4.62-hectare study area is approximately 31,785 tons. Keywords: Quartz sand, Sukamara Regency, resource estimation, polygon method, geological formation, geomorphology.
