Abstract

Formal education is not sufficient as a provision to find a job, it needs to be equipped with soft skills, such as the ability to communicate. This study aims to reveal the basic communication skills and soft skills of job seekers with low education and their readiness to enter the world of work. Respondents of this study are the younger generation who are looking for a job. They live in Rusunawa Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta. There are 37 respondents involved in this study. This study is descriptive quantitative with case studies. The data collection technique used a Likert scale questionnaire with five scales. The data analysis technique was carried out with descriptive statistics used SPSS 25. The results of this study indicate that the respondents are ready and confident enough to compete in the work world with their communication skills and other soft skills. The skill that the majority of respondents felt lacking was communication in English. This study suggested doing intervention by mentoring and training of communication and English for respondents, the younger generation of productive age with low education. Keywords: Formal Education; Communication; Hard Skill; Soft Skill; English Language AbstrakPendidikan formal belum cukup sebagai bekal untuk mencari pekerjaan, lulusan perlu dibekali dengan soft skill, seperti kemampuan berkomunikasi. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket skala likert dengan lima skala. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik deskriptif melalui bantuan SPSS 25. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa responden cukup siap dan percaya diri untuk bersaing di dunia kerja dengan kemampuan komunikasi dan soft skill lainnya. Keterampilan yang dirasakan sebagian besar responden kurang adalah komunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar dilakukan intervensi melalui pendampingan dan pelatihan komunikasi dan bahasa Inggris bagi mereka yang berpendidikan rendah, tetapi tergolong generasi muda yang produktif. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Formal; Komunikasi; Hard Skill; Soft Skill; bahasa Inggris

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the influence of Experiential Learning activities within the context of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) on the academic motivation of higher education students. Academic motivation is considered a crucial factor in shaping students' academic success, and MBKM's experiential learning is expected to boost learning enthusiasm, skill development, and enhancement of soft and hard skills. The research findings indicate that most students feel motivated and more enthusiastic in attending lectures, with a tendency to increase interest in seeking further knowledge. Additionally, the MBKM program is perceived to enhance the quality of education in higher education institutions, engaging students in academic projects and assignments that support developing soft and hard skills. However, some respondent’s express hesitancy regarding the encouragement to pursue academic ambitions.

Abstract

This research aims at reviewing whether company size, business diversification, and investment decision affect firm value by using capital structure as a mediator. Samples were collected from a population (all manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange within observation period of 2016-2020) using a purposive sampling method following specific criteria. Data were then analyzed using a quantitative approach and a multiple linear regression technique. Results show that company size and investment decision affect firm value positively and significantly. Meanwhile, business diversification negatively and significantly affects firm value. At the same time, capital structure variable makes the relationship between independent and dependent variables stronger.

Abstract

In the current digital era, financial literacy is crucial to support wise financial management and prevent the risk of fraud, especially among the younger generation. This article discusses the need for financial literacy, especially among high school students, to help them manage personal finances, understand investments, and become familiar with financial technology (fintech). Cases of fraud, such as several students caught in online loans, emphasize the importance of understanding financial literacy in financial decisions. From the evaluation results of the financial literacy workshop conducted at SoliDEO Christian High School, this activity positively impacted students' understanding of investment, financial literacy, and financial technology. A significant increase in students' interest scores regarding these various aspects was seen through surveys before and after the workshop. The highest increase occurred in understanding investment instruments, followed by the urgency of recognizing red flags when investing, financial literacy, use of financial technology, and investing in general. Even though there has been an increase, the importance scores for understanding and measuring investment profits and risks, managing personal finances, and making a priority scale for spending funds tend to be stable.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of leadership on the financial well-being of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs in Indonesia, with innovation diffusion as a moderating variable. Data were collected by surveying 400 MSME entrepreneurs who have been in business for at least six months. Data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the SEM-PLS program. The analysis results indicate that innovation adoption and leadership positively and significantly influence the financial well-being of MSME entrepreneurs. Additionally, innovation diffusion plays a significant moderating role in the relationship between leadership and financial well-being. The practical implication is that MSME entrepreneurs can enhance their financial well-being by adopting innovation and having effective leadership.

Abstract

This empirical study aims for examining the influence of liquidity risk on bank performance from the period 2010 to 2015 listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange. The measurement of liquidity risk will involve deposits or third-party fund, cash, and liquidity gap whereas the leverage will involve total debts to total assets as the independent variables. Meanwhile, the dependent variables of this study involve ROA and Tobin’s Q. This study was conducted under the purposive sampling method which involved 22 banks as samples. This study also used a panel data regression method and three testing models, including Common Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model, and Random Effect Model. The findings suggest a positive and significant influence of the third-party fund on ROA and Tobin’s Q. In contrast, the liquidity gap has a negative and significant influence on ROA and Tobin’s Q. Besides, the findings also suggest a positive and significant influence of cash on ROA and negatively significant on Tobin’s Q. The leverage has negative and significant influence on ROA and positively significant on Tobin’s Q.

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on almost all sectors, including education. School activities must be carried out online through distance learning. The problem faced by Kalam Kudus Christian Middle School and High School students as service partners during the Covid-19 pandemic is the decline in motivation to learn due to boredom and boredom with the routine of attending online school, students/students have so far not been able to manage their time well. more effective and unable to manage pocket money more wisely. The aim of carrying out this community service is to motivate students to study, especially online, increase students' knowledge about the importance of time management and pocket money management and their application in everyday life. Community service activities were carried out in the form of online training and involved 180 students of Kalam Kudus Christian Middle School and 133 students of Kalam Kudus Christian High School. The results of this community service activity concluded that this knowledge provision and training activity regarding online learning motivation, time management, and pocket money management was proven to be able to increase the knowledge and understanding of Kalam Kudus Christian Middle School and High School students. Abstract

Kesadaran keberlanjuan terhadap pelestarian lingkungan harus dibina sejak dini agar menjadi kebiasaan positif bagi tumbuh kembang generasi penerus bangsa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengembangkan E-modul bermuatan kesadaran keberlanjutan dan kreativitas (E-Ketantaas) pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation yang kemudian dirincikan menjadi tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap akhir. Setelah dilakukan penelitian dan pengembangan E-Ketantas didapatkan hasil berupa: tahap analisis, peserta didik mengalami pembelajaran yang monoton, belum mengenal konsep kesadaran keberlanjutan, dan belum mampu memunculkan kreativitas. Pada tahap desain E-Ketantas, dibuatkan desain yang mampu merancang pembelajaran yang tidak monoton dan mampu memunculkan konsep kesadaran keberlanjutan dan kreativitas serta disesuaikan dengan materi perubahan lingkungan. Pada tahap pengembangan, E-Ketantas layak diterapkan pada materi perubahan lingkungan dengan menyelaraskan pada konsep kesadaran keberlanjutan dan kreativitas. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, E-Ketantas dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran karena setelah dilakukan uji respon, peserta didik tidak merasa kesulitan dalam menggunakannya. Pada tahap evaluasi, E-Ketantas dapat memuat berbagai sumber belajar, termasuk video. E-Ketantas dapat diterapakan dengan optimal pada sekolah yang terbiasa menggunakan pendekatan student center, model Discovery Learning, metode belajar diskusi, dan media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif.
