However, we can still find diabetic patients who are able to improve their diet and control their blood sugar. Therefore, getting information from them, especially related to their experience in controlling their diet, is expected to provide hope and motivation for others. Hence, this study aims to find out and expolore the experience of diabetics with controlled blood sugar and dietMethods: This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive phenomenology approach. The selection of participants was carried out by using a purposive sampling technique. The number of participants in this study were 5 and data were processed through Colaizzi method.Result:.There are four themes obtained in this study namely: Self-commitment to discipline and dietary compliance, Fruit as an alternative appetite suppresant, Controlling hunger as a habit, and Channelling hunger to activities. Abstract

PYMS (Pediatric Yorkhill Malnutrition Score) is the most appropriate tool, efficient, feasible, easy to use, easy to integrate into clinical practice and requires a short time to detect nutritional status in toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PYMS (Paediatric Yorkhill Malnutrition Score) counseling on the knowledge of health workers at the Biaro Health Center, Agam Regency. The population in this study were health workers at the Biro Public Health Center with a total sampling of 27 health workers. This type of research uses a one group pre-test and post-test design without control. Data collection is carried out directly on the respondents by using a questionnaire. Data processing for bivariate analysis with Wilcoxon test. The results of the univariate analysis showed that before being given counseling, more than half had sufficient knowledge as many as 14 (51.9%), and after being given counseling that more than half had good knowledge were 14 (51.9%). The results of bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon test obtained p-value 0.000 or p <0.05, thus there is an influence of knowledge on counseling. With the understanding of health workers on the use of PYMS (Pediatric Yorkhill Malnutrition Score).

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a severe problem with a rapidly increasing incidence rate. DM can affect almost all segments of society worldwide. The number of individuals with DM continues to rise yearly due to the sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits prevalent in contemporary society. Objectives: This study aims to compare the effects of soymilk and red dragon fruit consumption on fasting blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: The research design employed in this study is quasi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test approach involving two treatment groups. The study subjects were 54 individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus from Bukittinggi. The participants were divided into three groups: an intervention group of 18 individuals who consumed red dragon fruit daily for seven days, a second intervention group of 18 individuals who consumed soymilk daily, and a control group of 18. Comparison analysis is done using the ANOVA test. Results: The research findings indicate that the p-value is 0.035, and the calculated t-value (2.198) is greater than the tabulated t-value (2.110. Furthermore, the consumption of red dragon fruit impacted fasting blood glucose levels and blood pressure, as evidenced by a p-value of 0.018 for fasting blood glucose and a calculated t-value of 2.198, which exceeds the tabulated t-value of 2.110. The ANOVA results indicate that the effectiveness of red dragon fruit consumption is superior, with an average decrease in blood glucose levels of 32.56, compared to the effectiveness of soymilk consumption, which resulted in an average decrease of 22.50. Conclusions: Red dragon fruit is more effective in reducing blood glucose and blood pressure levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Background: IDF reports that the number of people with Diabetes in 2019 was 463 million. This number will increase to 700 million in 2045. In, 2018 Riskesdas said that there was an increase in diabetes cases in Indonesia based on the results of blood glucose examinations from 6.9% in 2013 to 8.5% in 2018. The increase can be caused by the inability of the patient to carry out self-care optimally. This self-care ability can be assessed through the SDSCA instrument. The purpose of this study was to analyze self-care for people with diabetes in Bukittinggi.  Methods: Study was designed as descriptive analytic with survey. Data were collected using a Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities (SDSCA) questionnaire. Samples were taken by consecutive sampling for 155 respondents. Data were analysed by SPSS. Results: The results of this study indicate that self-care of people with diabetes are poor (16.1%), Averrage (66.5%), and good (17.4%). Conclusion: Primary health care is suggested to improve the health promotion programs, especially in terms of self-care for diabetes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The incidence of Diabetes Mellitus in Indonesia continues to increase each year. Nearly 75% of individuals with diabetes remain undiagnosed, posing a high risk of complications, disabilities, and premature death. Diabetes programs implemented in Primary Health Cares are divided into two categories: integrated within the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) control program and integrated within the Chronic Disease Management program (Prolanis). However, not all activities are fully realized, so it is necessary to identify the barriers to the implementation of diabetes programs in these health centers. This research aims to investigate and provide an in-depth understanding of the obstacles faced by healthcare workers involved in diabetes programs at Primary health cares. The study sample consisted of 13 individuals selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection employed semi-structured interviews, and data analysis utilized the Collaizi method. The research identified six themes as follows: the absence of a specific diabetes program, program interruption during the COVID pandemic, most program participants being elderly, inadequate capacity of exercise fields, a shortage of human resources, and the remote location of the health centers from the working area. Based on the findings of this research, it is expected that future primary health care will establish an integrated diabetes program and increase the number of healthcare workers involved in managing Diabetes to ensure the optimal implementation of the program. Keywords: Barriers, Diabetes programs, Primary Health Care
