Abstract

ABSTRACTthe purpose of this research was to obtain the mixture performance of bioethanol and premium compared with Pertamax to power (P), torque (T), fuel consumption rate (mf), specific fuel consumption (sfc), and average effective pressure (mep) on a 9 HP gasoline engine and examined the blend performance of bioethanol-premium which is find out to gain or equivalent to Pertamax. This type of research is experimental research. The initial fuel used is P (Pure Pertamax), E-10 (10% Bioethanol and 90% Premium), E-30 (30% Bioethanol and 70% Premium), and E-50 (50% Bioethanol and 50% Premium). Data analysis used descriptive analysis, which describes the numerical data obtained from experimental testing and formula calculations. Results of this study showed that E30 was closest to Pertamax performance comparing to other fuels, and is even superior in terms of MF and SFC. Proved by stability torque from 2000-3500 rpm and more superior from Pertamax at 2000-2500 rpm, that difference value with in 0.655 and 0.065 Nm. The power of E30 was closest to Pertamax performance at 3500 rpm with in difference value of 0.11 KW. As well as had the lowest rate of fuel consumption rate (mf), most lowest specific fuel consumption (sfc), and the average effective pressure (mep) that closest to Pertamax performance at 2500 rpm, within difference of 57.69 kPa from all types of the fuel was examined.

Abstract

The Savonius U type wind turbine is a vertical axis turbine that can operate at low wind speeds. In general, the performance of this turbine is influenced by several factors, one of which is the shape of the turbine blade. This research aims to test the design results of a 6 blade Savonius turbine with a blade length of 50 cm made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) by varying the dimensions of the blade diameter. The variables that vary between blade length and blade diameter are D/L=0.10, D/L=0.13, D/L=0.18, and D/L=0.20. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of variations in the parameters above on turbine rotation and the electrical power produced in a direct current (DC) generator at each variation in wind speed. From the research results, it is known that the trend graph of the relationship between turbine rotation and wind speed has a linear correlation. In simple terms, this turbine can be applied to DC voltage loads such as lighting using light emitting diode (LED) lamps with a maximum power capacity of ± 16 watts, while the overall efficiency (OE) is 50.25%.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an innovative solution to reduce the problem of plastic waste by designing and optimizing an edible film formula using milkfish bone gelatin and red algae as edible film composite materials. Milkfish gelatin was chosen because it can form an elastic and strong film, while red algae provides softness and resistance to microorganism activity. This research consists of several stages, including gelatin extraction, carrageenan extraction from Eucheuma cottonii and formulating composite edible films. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the average yield of milkfish bone gelatin was 10.55% and the average yield of E.cottonii carrageenan extract was 20.62%. The thickness of composite edible film ranges from 0.15-0.25 mm, the highest tensile strength value is 6.3 MPa and the lowest is 3 MPa, and the highest percent elongation of edible film is 80% and the lowest is 36.67%. The values ??obtained are in accordance with the JIS 2-1707 (Japan Industrial Standard) (1946) standard.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of social support in reducing anxiety levels experienced by Generation Z in facing the future in the digital era of Tanjungbalai. Generation Z is the generation born between 1997 and 2012. Generation Z lives amidst the rapid development of digital technology that brings unique challenges, including economic uncertainty, social pressure, and fear of the future. Through a qualitative approach, this study used observation and interview methods with five informants from Tanjungbalai City. The results showed that Generation Z anxiety was triggered by academic pressure, social comparison, and global uncertainty related to the economy and the environment. Social media shows a dualistic impact on the one hand exacerbating anxiety through exposure to unrealistic standards of success and negative content, but on the other hand serves as a source of career information, inspiration, and the formation of a supportive community. In this context, social support, especially emotional support empathy, validation of feelings and instrumental concrete assistance, practical solutions from close friends and family proved to be a critical coping mechanism. Its effectiveness depends on the quality of the interaction, where non-empathetic support can actually increase anxiety.
