Abstract

Background: The consumption rate of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) in Indonesia remains high. Lemon is an antioxidant and neutralizer of free radicals which contains vitamin C and phytochemicals to prevent the long-term effects of MSG to pyramida cells. This study aims to test the effect of oral administration of lemon juice (Citrus limon) to the number of pyramidal neuron cells.   Methodology: This experimental study employed 30 male white mice aged 2.5 to 3 months. Those mice were randomly divided into five control-groups: Normal Control (KN), Negative Control (K-) was treated with 4 mg/grBB MSG, Dose Group 1 (KD1) was treated with 3.33 ml/kgBB lemon juice, Dose Group 2 (KD2) was treated with 6.67 ml/kgBB lemon juice, and Dose Group 3 (KD3) was treated with 13.33 ml/kgBB lemon juice. Kruskal Wallis test was used to determine the difference in distribution between groups, followed with Post hoc Mann Whitney test.Results: After 28 days of treatment, the average number of pyramidal neuron cells in dose group 1 (637 cells) was higher than in negative control (589.5 cells) (p=0.078). The average number of pyramidal neuron cells in dose group 3 (482,5 cells) was lower than in the negative control (589.5 cells) (p=0.016). The statistical result shown that there were groups with a significant difference in pyramidal cells number. Mann-Whitney analysis of pyramidal cells number had shown that there was a significant difference between group KD3 and KD1, KD3 and K (-), KD3 and KD2.Conclusion: Lemon juice (Citrus limon) in precise dose has a beneficial effect to reduce the excitotoxic effect of MSG. Further studies is needed to validate the active compound and toxicity effect of lemon juice.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) merupakan suatu tanaman tradisional dengan memilki banyak kandungan kimia yang bermanfaat, Salah satunya sebagai analgetik. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan desain post test only design uji ANOVA. Sampel adalah 30 ekor mencit putih dengan kriteria tertentu, dibagi secara acak menjadi 6 kelompok. yaitu kelompok I untuk kontrol negatif yang hanya diberi aquadest, kelompok II untuk kontrol positif diberikan paracetamol 5%, Kelompok III yang hanya diberi asam asetat 5%, kelompok IV diberi perlakuan dengan ekstrak air herba pegagan dengan dosis 100 Mg/KgBB, kelompok V diberi perlakuan dengan ekstrak air herba pegagan dengan dosis 200 Mg/KgBB, dan kelompok VI diberi perlakuan dengan ekstrak air herba pegagan dengan dosis 300 Mg/KgBB yang sebelumnya telah diinduksikan asam asetat 5% dengan waktu pengamatan tiap 10 menit selama 60 menit setelah pemberian perlakuan, dengan pemberian secara oral Hasil: rata-rata geliat mencit kelompok I (80,4), kelompok II (18,6), kelompok III (81,2), kelompok IV (24,4), Kelompok V (27), kelompok VI (27,4), kemudian dihitung persen daya analgetik dengan hasil persen daya analgetik ekstrak air herba pegagan yaitu dosis 100 Mg/KgBB (69,64%), dosis 200 Mg/KgBB (66,15%), dosis 300 Mg/KgBB (65,9%) dan persen daya analgetik paracetamol yaitu 76,88%. Kesimpulan: Ekstrak air herba pegagan dengan dosis bertingkat terbukti mempunyai daya analgetik terhadap mencit putih jantan. Dan obat paracetamol daya analgetik nya lebih kuat dibandingkan ekstrak air herba pegagan.Kata kunci : Herba pegagan, Metampiron, Asam asetat,Analgetik.ABSTRACTBackground: Centella asiatica (L.) Urban is a traditional plant has many beneficial chemical constituents, one of them as an analgesic. Methode: This study is an experimental research design post test only design. The sample were 30 white mice, randomize in 6 groups. groups one for the negative control group who were given only distilled water, two for the positive control group given paracetamol 5%, three treatment groups were given acetic acid 5%, four treatment groups given the water extract Centella asiatica with a dose of 100 Mg/Kg BB, five treatment groups given the water extract Centella asiatica with a dose of 200 Mg/Kg BB, and six treatment groups given the water extract Centella asiatica with a dose of 300 Mg/Kg BB. Analgesics testing methods based on the number of movement of the mice which has induced acetic acid 5% the observation time every ten minutes for sixty minutes after the treatment, with oral administration. And test statistical tests use ANOVA test. Result: result obtained in the form of stretching the number of mice with an average of one group of mice writhing (80,4), group two (18,6), group three (81,2), group four (24,4), group five (27), group six (27,4), then the calculated percent power with the result of percent power analgesic herb gotu kola extract water that is dose 100 Mg/KgBB (69,64%), dose 200 Mg/KgBB (66,15%), dose 300 Mg/KgBB (65,9%) and percent power analgesic paracetamol is 76,88%. Conclusion: Water extract gotu kola herb with multilevel dose shown to have analgesic power of the white male mice. Abstract

Background: Head injury is a traumatic disturbance of brain function accompanied or without interstitial bleeding in the substance of the brain without interruption of brain continuity. The outcome of head injury is very important to know in order to prepare prevention measures, to prepare primary prevention strategies based on population size, and to prepare efficient and accurate treatment. Objective: To find out if there is a relationship between the degree of head injury and the postoperative results of neurosurgery patients at Waled Hospital in 2021-2022. Method: This type of research is qualitative research using an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The target population in this study were head injury patients who were treated at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021 – 2022. The sample size for this study was 50 people. Results: The degree of head injury in post-operative neurosurgery patients at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021-2022 has the most moderate head injuries (60%). The distribution of outcomes in postoperative neurosurgery patients at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021-2022 is mostly in the death category of 24 people (48%). The results of the Spearman correlation test showed that there is a p-value = 0.003, which means that there is a significant relationship between the degree of head injury and the postoperative outcome of neurosurgery patients at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021-2022. Then the results of the study found a value of r = 0.411, which means that there is a strong influence between the Degree of Head Injury and the Postoperative Results of Neurosurgery Patients at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021-2022. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the degree of head injury and the results of postoperative actions on Neurosurgery patients at Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency in 2021-2022 Keywords: head injury, outcome, surgery in neurosurgery patients.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Vaksinasi adalah salah satu cara untuk mencegah COVID-19. Tujuan vaksinasi adalah untuk mengurangi penyebaran dan kematian serta angka kesakitan dan kematian. Rendahnya tingkat vaksinasi COVID-19 di perdesaan karena beberapa alasan, salah satunya adalah kurangnya pengetahuan tentang vaksin. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat tentang booster vaksinasi COVID-19. Metode: Analitik observasional dengan desain cross-sectional Metode sampling kluster acak digunakan untuk memilih 367 responden. Analisis univariat dilakukan pada data yang diambil dari data primer. Hasil: Analisis Univariat menunjukkan bahwa 220 responden (60%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat yang tinggi, 142 responden (39%), dan 5 responden (1%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat yang rendah. Nilai rata-ratanya adalah 85,11 poin. Kesimpulan: secara keseluruhan, tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai vaksinasi booster cukup baik. Kata kunci: Vaksinasi, booster, COVID-19. ABSTRACT Background: Vaccination is one way to prevent COVID-19. The purpose of vaccination is to reduce the spread and mortality as well as the rates of illness and death. The low COVID-19 vaccination rates in rural areas are due to several reasons, one of which is the lack of knowledge about the vaccine. Objective: To identify the level of public knowledge about COVID-19 vaccination boosters. Method: Observational analytic with a cross-sectional design. A cluster random sampling method was used to select 367 respondents. Univariate analysis was conducted on data obtained from primary data. Results: The univariate analysis shows that 220 respondents (60%) have a high level of public knowledge, 142 respondents (39%), and 5 respondents (1%) have a low level of public knowledge. The average score is 85.11 points. Conclusion: In general, the level of public knowledge about booster vaccinations is quite good.
