Abstract

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a peripheral nerve lesion because of the nontraumatic mechanism or a pressure or entrapment of the median nerve under the transverse ligament (flexor retinaculum). Hydrodisection is used for adhesiolysis to eliminate adhesion and release the median nerve from the retinaculum and connective tissue around it and avoid injury to the nerves. Objective: Compare the effectiveness of hydrodisection injection therapy using an ultrasound guide between normal saline and triamcinolone in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: Experimental study was carried out in the outpatient clinic of the hospital Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang from August 2018 to October 2018. A total of 30 patients. All study subjects were subjected to NPS, FSS, SSS scoring compared to before and 4 weeks after injection of hydrodisection and compared the effectiveness of injection agents. Results: NPS before and after triamcinolone injection (sig 0.000; p <0.05), FSS (sig 0.020; p <0.05), and SSS (sig 0.001; p <0.05). NPS before and after injection of normal saline 0.9% NaCl  (sig 0.001; p <0.05), FSS (sig 0.005; p <0.05), and SSS (sig 0,000; p <0.05). NPS between triamcinolone injection results and normal saline 0,9% NaCl  (sig 0.341; p <0.05), FSS (sig 0.425; p <0.05), SSS (sig 0.350; p <0.05).Conclusion: There no significant difference between injection of hydrodisection USG guiding with triamcinolone and normal saline 0,9% NaCl to reduce symptom CTS. Both of injection hydrodisection USG guiding has more or less the same effectiveness in treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Keywords: CTS, Hydrodisection, NPS, FSS, SSS

Abstract

Ease of access to health information services that are in accordance with community needs can increase awareness of the importance of health so that healthy habits and lifestyles are formed. However, obstacles can arise in obtaining the right information due to ignorance or lack of understanding of health information. One effort to minimize this is to provide health information to the public through social media, especially podcasts. Primary health care (Puskesmas) as health service providers have work areas and programs in the community, one of which is health promotion efforts. This program can be used to support health programs. The use of social media is considered important, because health topics are quite popular among netizens who use social media. This community service is in collaboration with 6 Puskesmas in Malang City. This activity has succeeded in creating three health podcast video contents together with Puskesmas.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Nocturia defined as an individual's complaint of having an urge to urinate during the night, followed by sleep. It is particularly happened in young adults who have a heavy workload. Clinical year students are among the populations with high levels of physical fatigue and stress, which may lead to sleep disorders that might impair the quality of one's sleep. Particularly recently, the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting many parts of people's life, such as the implementation of a lecture system and limitations on the number of hours that clinical year students in Indonesia can work. Aim: The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of nocturia, the quality of their sleep, and the correlation between those two in clinical year students in the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Brawijaya during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This is an analytic observational study with cross sectional design and purposive sampling method. This study was conducted in April and May of 2022. According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 78 clinical year students were selected as the participants in the study. Data analyzed with the Chi-square test for univariate and bivariate data analysis. Results: Among the 78 respondents, 39 (50%) reported having nocturia and 47 (60.30%) reported having poor sleep quality. The chi-square probability value for the test of the correlation between nocturia and sleep quality was 0.488 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Clinical year students frequently have poor sleep quality and nocturia symptoms. However there is no association between nocturia and sleep quality.
