Abstract

Each interacts with the environment and gives a different response, namely a positive response and even a negative response because he considers that changing conditions is a pressure that causes stress and encourages individuals to respond to coping. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of coping and stress management training in increasing the perception of stress in health levels before and after the intervention was given. The design used one group pre-post design. The population was 30 health cadres, and the sampling technique used total sampling. Before the activity, the respondents were given a questionnaire to determine stress levels, followed by training. The respondents applied stress management techniques within one month, after which a post-test was carried out. The instrument used the Perceived Stress Scale. The results showed that the mean stress adaptation of respondents before the intervention was 20.73, and the mean stress adaptation after the intervention was 7.83. Further analysis using a paired t-test showed a significant difference in stress adaptation between stress adaptations to health cadres before and after the intervention (p-value=0.001; α

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a method for restoring the function of the respiratory and circulatory systems in patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest or sudden cessation of breathing. CPR skills can be taught to anyone, including the general public, as cardiac arrest incidents can occur anytime and anywhere. The community service activities were carried out with a program providing education on CPR management on the knowledge level of students at Mojokerto City State 2 High School. Education was provided using a 2-method approach, namely the lecture method with material on the definition of CPR, indications for CPR, and CPR actions, and the CPR demonstration method using a mannequin. The sample for this community service activity consisted of 27 respondents, who were taken using total sampling techniques. The design used a pre-experimental and a one-group design pre-test-post-test approach. The instrument used a CPR knowledge questionnaire which was measured before and after education. The data analysis was the Wilcoxon test. The results of this community services activity showed that there was a significant difference before and after being given CPR education, knowledge in the CPR definition domain (p-value = 0.015; α <0.05), knowledge in the CPR indication domain (p-value = 0.000; α <0.05); knowledge in the CPR Action domain (p-value = 0.015; α <0.05). Education on cardiopulmonary resuscitation is essential, especially for the general public, as cardiac arrest can also occur outside of a hospital setting, thereby allowing individuals to assist.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Stroke remains a leading global cause of mortality and disability, necessitating effective tools for early risk stratification. This systematic review evaluates the prognostic performance of Early Warning Scores (EWS)—MEWS, NEWS, and NEWS2—in predicting in-hospital mortality among stroke patients. Five studies published between 2021 and 2025 were included, encompassing diverse stroke subtypes and care settings. Across studies, higher EWS values were consistently associated with increased mortality risk, with odds ratios ranging from 2.44 to 3.21 and AUROC values between 0.69 and 0.79. NEWS2 generally outperformed MEWS and NEWS. Importantly, models incorporating neurological assessments, particularly the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), significantly improved predictive accuracy (AUROC 0.87). While EWS are valuable for early detection of deterioration, their performance in stroke is enhanced by integrating neurological parameters. These findings support the development of combined scoring systems and digital integration to optimize early intervention strategies in acute stroke care across varied healthcare settings.
