Abstract

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a method for restoring the function of the respiratory and circulatory systems in patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest or sudden cessation of breathing. CPR skills can be taught to anyone, including the general public, as cardiac arrest incidents can occur anytime and anywhere. The community service activities were carried out with a program providing education on CPR management on the knowledge level of students at Mojokerto City State 2 High School. Education was provided using a 2-method approach, namely the lecture method with material on the definition of CPR, indications for CPR, and CPR actions, and the CPR demonstration method using a mannequin. The sample for this community service activity consisted of 27 respondents, who were taken using total sampling techniques. The design used a pre-experimental and a one-group design pre-test-post-test approach. The instrument used a CPR knowledge questionnaire which was measured before and after education. The data analysis was the Wilcoxon test. The results of this community services activity showed that there was a significant difference before and after being given CPR education, knowledge in the CPR definition domain (p-value = 0.015; α <0.05), knowledge in the CPR indication domain (p-value = 0.000; α <0.05); knowledge in the CPR Action domain (p-value = 0.015; α <0.05). Education on cardiopulmonary resuscitation is essential, especially for the general public, as cardiac arrest can also occur outside of a hospital setting, thereby allowing individuals to assist.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a common cancer in women with an estimated 570,000 new cases in 2018 and represents 6.6% of all cancers in women. About 90% of cervical cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. High mortality rates from cervical cancer globally can be reduced through a comprehensive approach that includes prevention, early diagnosis, effective screening and treatment programs. Cervical cancer can be prevented with primary prevention. Primary prevention is to prevent the occurrence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection with the advantage of not causing side effects, easy and effective. This prevention can be done using screening methods that are easy and inexpensive to do, such as Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid (IVA), which is visual inspection with acetic acid. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer, symptoms at an early and late stage in Cinere Depok District. The assessment of understanding can be seen from the results of the pre-test and post-test. The results of this activity show that people in Cinere Depok District have understood the socialization of early detection of cervical cancer and recognize the symptoms of early and late stages of cervical cancer with an increase in the average value of post-test, which is 90% of the pre-test score.

Abstract

Introduction: Sleep quality, organizational activities, and commuting distance may influence students' academic performance. Poor sleep reduces concentration, organizational involvement consumes study time, and long commuting distances increase fatigue, all of which can ultimately affect students' academic achievement.  Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between sleep quality, organizational activities, commuting distance, and the Grade Point Average (GPA) of the 2021 cohort of medical students at UPN Veteran Jakarta.  Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 118 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire, along with information on organizational participation, commuting distance, and GPA. Data was analyzed using the Spearman test. Results: Most respondents had good sleep quality (82.2%), participated in 1–2 organizations (71.2%), lived within 1 km commuting distance (55.1%), and achieved a GPA categorized as very satisfactory (65.3%). There is no significant relationship between sleep quality and GPA (p=0.727) or between organizational activities and GPA (p=0.316). However, a significant relationship was found between commuting distance and GPA (p = 0.039; r = -0.191), with students living farther away tending to have lower GPAs. Conclusion: The results emphasize the importance of effective time management and residential location in enhancing students' academic success
