Abstract

Telah diselenggarakan kegiatan pelatihan IoT untuk guru dan siswa sekolah tingkat menengah (MA, SMK, dan SMA) di Kabupaten Purwakarta, Jawa Barat pada 14 Agustus 2019. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan IoT kepada siswa/i, sehingga mereka memiliki bekal pengetahuan serta skill pada era industri 4.0 seperti dewasa ini. Kegiatan diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Sistem Telekomunikasi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia kampus daerah di Purwakarta, Jawa Barat. Sistem IoT yang diusung adalah mesin kehadiran berbasis radio frequency identification (RFID) yang terhubung ke Internet. Peserta juga berasal dari Guru, dengan harapan alat hasil pelatihan dapat lebih cepat untuk diimplementasikan di Sekolah asal karena sejauh ini sistem kehadiran masih manual (sebagian sekolah tertentu). Sebanyak 24 peserta hadir dalam kegiatan ini, yakni 12 sekolah dengan komposisi satu guru satu siswa/i. Metode pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah pemaparan teori, praktik (perakitan mesin kehadiran), dan evaluasi dengan cara memberikan angket pada setiap peserta. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta puas akan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini. Tujuan lain dari PkM ini adalah dalam rangka memperkenalkan Prodi baru (Sistem Telekomunikasi) yang tahun 2019 ini baru saja dibuka. Dengan demikian, dalam jangka panjang dapat terjalin suatu link antara sekolah menengah tingkat atas di Purwakarta dengan Prodi Sistel melalui program pelatihan lainnya.

Abstract

Software-defined networking (SDN) technology is one key technology in telecommunications networks that are currently widely studied. In SDN-based networks, the controller holds the key to the reliability of a network because all control functions are held by the controller as one of the open-source controllers, the Open Network Operating System (ONOS) has two forwarding mechanisms, namely reactive forwarding, and proactive forwarding. This study compares performance between reactive forwarding and proactive forwarding on ONOS with VM migration as traffic. The parameter measured is the total migration time using simple network topology. From the test results, the proactive forwarding scenario can optimize the fastest potential of the topology tested by using the path that has the largest bandwidth available on the network topology. In comparison, reactive forwarding can only pass through the smallest hops of the tested topology. From the measurement results, the average migration time performance using a proactive forwarding scenario is 36.16% faster than the reactive forwarding scenario.

Abstract

Nowadays, opensource-based technology has begun spreaded into telecommunications field. It can be seen by the number of distributed opensource-based software tools at telecommunications field. The use of opensource based software has a huge impact both on the speed of innovation and for any individual that involved in opensource based projects. The Sistem Telekomunikasi Study Program from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Purwakarta Regional Campus has held an opensource introduction activity in the field of telecommunications for high school students (SMA, MA, SMK) in Purwakarta at August 29, 2020. This activity aims to introduce the opensource paradigm to grow their interest and attraction of participants to start looking at source code, trying to use it thus they can contribute to opensource projects. Activities are held offline according to the Covid-19 protocol using blended learning method. The results of the activity showed that the participants were very satisfied with the event and interested in further learning about opensource based tools.

Abstract

ABSTRACTInternet of Things (IoT)  is one of the technological paradigms developed in the industrial revolution 4.0. The concept of IoT is an object can transfer data over a network without interaction from human-to-human or from human-to-computer. One of the IoT implementations in the education sector is the attendance system using IoT-based Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).  The attendance machines such as fingerprints and face recognition have a relatively high-cost compared to RFID machines. Hence, if the number of attendance machines within the School is limited, it will be less efficient for a large number of students and vulnerable to queuing. The RFID implementation in the Education sector was socialized through a Workshop with students and teachers of the secondary schools in Purwakarta, West Java, as the participants. To provide additional insight and expertise about the RFID-IoT concept to the workshop participants, this community service activity needs to be done. Several benefits will be obtained through this workshop, including saving paper use and efficiency, because the RFID-based IoT can reduce the teachers’ workload in processing the student attendance lists. Teachers are also invited to this workshop so they can guide their students and pass on the additional skills. Moreover, the invited teacher will teach new knowledge related to workshop material to other students in the School.Keywords: Internet-of-things, RFID, Mesin Kehadiran, Workshop, Purwakarta ABSTRAKInternet of Things (IoT) merupakan salah satu paradigma teknologi yang dikembangkan dalam revolusi industri 4.0. Konsep IoT adalah suatau objek dapat mentransfer data lewat jaringan tanpa adanya interaksi dari manusia ke manusia ataupun dari manusia ke perangkat komputer. Salah satu implementasinya pada bidang pendidikan yaitu sistem kehadiran menggunakan  Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) berbasis teknologi IoT. Mesin kehadiran seperti fingerprint dan face recognition memiliki harga yang relatif mahal dibandingkan mesin RFID. Sementara, jika jumlah mesin kehadiran yang ada di sekolah terbatas, hal ini sedikit kurang efisien untuk jumlah siswa yang sangat banyak dan rentan menimbulkan antrian. Implementasi RFID di bidang Pendidikan ini disosialisasikan melalui sebuah Workshop dengan siswa dan Guru dari sekolah menengah di Purwakarta, Jawa Barat sebagai peserta. Untuk dapat memberikan tambahan wawasan dan keterampilan mengenai mesin kehadiran RFID dengan konsep IoT kepada peserta Workshop, maka pengabdian masyarakat ini perlu dilakukan. Beberapa manfaat akan didapat memalui workshop ini, termasuk menghemat penggunaan kertas dan efisiensi karena RFID berbasis IoT mengurangi beban kerja guru dalam mengolah data kehadiran siswa. Guru turut diundang dalam workshop ini agar mereka dapat membimbing siswanya dan menularkan tambahan keterampilan dan wawasan yang didapat dari kegiatan PKM ini kepada siswa lainnya di sekolah..Kata Kunci: Internet-of-things, RFID, Workshop, Purwakarta

Abstract

Utilization of educational media using Augmented Reality (AR) technology can stimulate students’ mindset in thinking critically about problems and events that exist in everyday life. The use of educational media with augmented reality directly can helps students learn wherever and whenever they want. In order to facilitate knowledge sharing, a community service activity was carried out by the UPI Telecommunication Systems Study Program, Purwakarta Campus, to introduce AR technology and train teachers to be able to create interactive technology-based learning media. The results obtained show that 1) participants are very satisfied with the content of the material with a percentage of 90.3% which means good; 2) the method of delivery of the workshop material by the presenters is considered good with a percentage of 89% and 3) according to the participants the activity of making the AR program is very useful with a response percentage of 93%.

Abstract

Persediaan dalam kegiatan operasional perusahaan sangatlah penting perananya, oleh sebab itu diperlukan manajamen dan metode yang tepat dalam perhitungan persediaan. Sehingga penentuan kebijakan untuk memilih salah satu metode akuntansi yang tepat bagi perusahaan sangat diperlukan dalam proses pengendalian persediaan. Kepentingan yang terdapat pada manajemen, pemilik perusahaan dan pemerintah dalam penentuan metode akuntansi persediaan akan menimbulkan konflik karena masing-masing metode memiliki hasil ekonomi yang berbeda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa saja faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan metode akuntansi persediaan yaitu ukuran perusahaan, variabilitas persediaan, variabilitas harga pokok penjualan dan laba sebelum pajak. Penelitian ini mengambil populasi dari perusahaan yang terdatar di Bursa Efek Indonesia di sub sektor perdagangan besar dan perdagangan eceran pada periode 2016-2019. Sampel penelitian diambil sebanyak 43 perusahaan dengan metode purposive sampling. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu regresi logistik untuk analisis pengaruh antara variabel independen dengan dependen. Hasil dari penelitian secara simultan variable independen mempengaruhi variable dependen. Secara parsial ukuran perusahan dan laba sebelum pajak tidak berpengaruh terhadap pemilihan metode akuntansi persediaan. Sedangkan variabilitas persediaan dan variabilitas harga pokok penjualan secara parsial berpengaruh signifikan.

Abstract

Cataract, a condition characterized by clouding of the eye's lens, leads to decreased vision and potentially blindness. In Indonesia, it is the predominant cause of blindness, accounting for 81.2% of cases. Given the rising life expectancy, the incidence of degenerative diseases like cataracts is expected to increase. This research aims to develop a cataract detection system capable of classifying eye images as either indicative of cataracts or normal. Utilizing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and RGB-based image processing—including edge detection techniques such as Canny and Prewitt—the system identifies eye contours. This facilitates image segmentation to ascertain the eye's condition. Therefore, image collection and processing models play a crucial role in this study. The research findings indicate that the system functions effectively, with a 98% success rate in accurately processing normal eye images through the CNN model without detecting cataracts. When tested using grayscale imaging, cataract-afflicted eyes—characterized by red spots in the images—were also successfully identified by the CNN model. These test results demonstrate that the designed cataract detection system can accurately classify images into normal or cataract-afflicted eyes with high precision. This system shows promise for use in early cataract detection, potentially helping to reduce the prevalence of cataract-related blindness in Indonesia.

Abstract

Cloud infrastructure providers such as GCP provide various computing services to deploy applications such as machine learning models, namely server-based and serverless. However, the two services each have different characteristics and advantages so that this becomes a difficulty factor for users in choosing cloud services. This research was conducted to compare server-based and serverless services with the aim of knowing the best service resulting from the analysis of performance measurements, namely CPU and memory utilization, latency, pricing, and developer experiences. The application of machine learning models is carried out on Compute Engine and Vertex AI services and will be tested for performance through requests to endpoints 100 times using JMeter for 30 minutes. The findings show that Vertex AI performance is better than Compute Engine with CPU utilization of 0.10%, memory utilization of 0.94%, and latency of 17.34ms but the cost efficiency is owned by the Compute Engine.
