Abstract

This study used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with a two-cycle design and involved 31 students in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Cipunagara. The purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. Research data were collected using observation instruments, interviews, documentation, and formative tests. The results showed that in the pre-cycle, the average student learning outcomes were 69.12 with the level of achievement of Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) 58.06%. After the application of the Role Playing method, there was a significant increase in cycle I, with a teacher activity score of 84, student activity of 75, and KKTP achievement increased to 64.51%. In cycle II, student learning outcomes increased more significantly with an average score of 89.19 and KKTP achievement of 90.32%. The teacher activity score also increased to 88.89, while student activity reached 87.50. This success is due to the active interaction of students, group discussions, and roles in learning scenarios that help students understand the material more deeply and applicatively. The conclusion in this study is that the Role Playing method is an effective learning strategy to improve PAI learning outcomes and instill character values.

Abstract

Literacy serves as a crucial foundation for students' academic success and personal development, particularly at the elementary education level. This study aims to analyze the role of the library at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 1 Surabaya in supporting student literacy development. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this research examines literacy programs, resource availability, and perceptions of students and teachers regarding the library's function as a literacy center. The findings indicate that the MIN 1 Surabaya library implements various strategic initiatives, such as providing diverse reading collections, the "Read 15 Minutes" program, and digital literacy introductions, which significantly enhance students' reading interest and literacy skills. However, challenges related to the optimal utilization of information technology, collection updates, and limited human resources still need to be addressed to maximize the library's role. This research provides practical recommendations for developing the library as an effective literacy center in madrasahs.

Abstract

This reserch is motivated by the importace of implementing differentiated learning to meet the diverse leraning needs of students in grade 5B at MIN 2 Sidoarjo. The issue was further discussed using Dreikurs’ theory to identify the underlying factors. The main problem in this study concerns the difficulties faced by teachers due to age, time constraints, and the complexity of implementing differentiated instruction. This research aims to describe the strategies used by teachers in applying differentiated learning and to identify the challenges and their impact on students’ learning motivation in Grade 5B. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through teacher interviews and classroom observations, adapted from the Designer 9 Model of Teaching and Learning. The findings reveal that teachers have implemented CIS and CIP strategies by engaging students in groups categorized as high, middle, and low achievers, which positively influenced students’ motivation and participation, particularly among kinesthetic and visual learners. However, the implementation of COP and CSI remains suboptimal. The study concludes by recommending improved teacher preparation and stronger institutional support to enhance the effectiveness of differentiated learning practices in elementary madrasah settings.
