Abstract

The objective of research is to determine the effect of welding current on the hardness, tensile strength, and microstructure from GTAW welding with ER70S2. This research used ST 41 low alloy steel material containing C = 0,16 %, Si = 0,23 %, Mn = 0,69 %, S = 0,031 %, P=0,019 %, yield point 40 kg/mm2, tensile strength 52 kg/mm2, dan elongation 32 %. ST 41 steel welding is carried out with current variations of 90 A, 110 A and 130 A with GTAW welding methode. Types of variation of the notch use are ][, V and X. The specimens was subjected to hardness, tensile strength, and metallography. Based on the result of hardness test with the factor elimination method in obtaining the angle ][ notch with current 90 A, V notch with current 90 A, and X notch with current 110 A. Tensile test results of the three materials, the highest tensile strength at the X notch with current 110 A is 416,8 N/mm2. The lowest tensile strength is obtained at welds with ][ notch is 360.73 N/mm2. From result of metallograph that we get if X notch with current 110 A is more stable, than ][ notch with current 90 A and V notch with current 90 A.

Abstract

The amount of rubber seed waste in Indonesia is highly yielded as a side product from a large amount of rubber trees plantation. The rubber seed was not processed become the usefull application yet,  thus it becomes a high volume of waste in each year. An initiative should be done to turn it as a practical material. The rubber seed is potential for natural composite along with the increasing attention toward natural composite application.This work aims to produce natural fibre composite based on rubber seed and characterize it's mechanical properties. In this work, the rubber seed natural composite produced by using the hand lay-up method. Polyester resin YUCALAC BQTN-157 was used as the matrix with the addition of 1% MEKP (Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone- Peroxide) as the catalyst. Mechanical properties of the composite were examined by using a tensile and bending test. Additionally, the water absorption test was performed according to the ASTM D 570. The result showed that the tensile and bending strength decrease with increasing the filler composition, which is added in the composite. The composite, which has the filler composition of 40% was generate the highest tensile strength. In contrast, the lowest tensile strength appeared at the composite with a filler of 60%. The bending strength trend also behaves similarly with the tensile strength as the filler composition increased. Water absorption ability of composites displays the acceptable value as it shows within the range of 2.22-2.96%.

Abstract

In the world of work, the quality of employees is very concerned about supporting smooth work. Companies definitely choose prospective employees who have the qualities that the company expects. because of this, universities are required to develop soft skills that are balanced with hard skills. In addition to the quality of graduates, universities must also know the needs of companies and adjust to DUDI (world of work and industry). This will have an impact on graduates who will enter the world of work. The better the name of the college, the greater the opportunity for college graduates to join the company. In this study will be analyzed the satisfaction and needs of users passed by the Kalimantan Institute of Technology based on user satisfaction surveys with the target company or where alumni work. This research uses the Rating Scale method which is a systematic and structured observation method in reporting evaluation results, where each indicator used will be weighted according to the satisfaction survey data obtained.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang sebuah reservoir benih padi yang dapat mengatur jarak tanam secara presisi. Mengingat varietas padi memiliki kebutuhan jarak tanam yang berbeda, penelitian ini akan mengadopsi konsep jajar legowo. Jarak dalam barisan bervariasi, seperti 100 mm dan 125 mm. Karena profil penampang berbentuk lingkaran, jarak tanam dalam barisan ditentukan dengan menggunakan keliling lingkaran.  Selain itu, reservoir benih dianalisis dengan menggunakan Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Simulasi FEA menggunakan ANSYS dengan tahapan berupa pre processing, processing, dan post processing. Pre processing mendefinisikan geometri dari model sebelum dilakukannya proses simulasi FEA berupa pemodelan dan pengaturan mechanical properties pada Material yang digunakan. Material yang direncanakan adalah PLA.  Pada processing, tahapan yang dilakukan adalah meshing, fix geometry, dan pemberian beban. Pemberian beban pada reservoir didistribusikan merata pada resrvoir benih padi. beban untuk reservoir 100 mm sebesar 3,056 kg, sedangkan reservoir 125 mm memiliki beban sebesar  3,668 kg. Tahap post processing menghasilkan deformasi, tegangan, dan juga safety factor.  Perancangan reservoir menghasilkan diameter penampang yang sesuai dengan jarak tanam antar baris  pada reservoir 100 mm dan 125 mm masing-masing adalah 95,5 mm dan 99,6 mm. Analisis struktur menggunakan Finite Element Analysis (FEA) menghasilkan deformasi, tegangan, dan safety factor.  Berdasarkan hasil simulasi,  besarnya deformasi, tegangan dan safety factor pada  reservoir 100 mm adalah 0,0054 mm, 0,599 MPa, dan  13,356. Sedangkan untuk reservoir 125 mm, besarnya besarnya deformasi, tegangan dan safety factor pada  reservoir 100 mm adalah 0,0064 mm, 0,726 MPa, dan  11,019. dari kedua reservoir, safety factor dapat dikategorikan aman.

Abstract

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are common in Indonesia; this is also true in Karang Jati, Balikpapan, and East Borneo. Despite this, the villagers have little knowledge about prevention, despite being aware of the grave consequences that diseases can have on their well-being and social standing. This exercise aims to raise villagers' understanding of the need to prevent non-communicable diseases. Using NCD screening with information distribution, this activity has encouraged the villagers to become more aware of the condition and motivated them to take preventative action. Most of the villagers are at high risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), specifically hypertension, according to the screening results. These data have effectively supported the villagers in establishing NCD screening and management in their neighborhood through Pos Pembinaan Terpadu (Posbindu) PTM, a community-based NCD prevention and management activity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of current variations on the V seam with a seam angle of 37.5° on the testing of mechanical properties and the appropriate welding method as a connector for two API 5L X52 materials using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) welding method. The current variation used is (70, 100, 115 A) in Sample A, the current variation is (70, 120, 130 A) in Sample B, and the current variation is (70, 125, 130 A) in Sample C. After the welding process is carried out, the samples are then tested for tensile, bending, observing macro structures, and microstructures. The test results obtained the highest value of tensile testing on current variations (70, 125, 130 A) with a value of 715.4 MPa, while the lowest value on current variations (70, 100, 115 A) with a value of 596.66 MPa. The results of the bending test show that the highest value is obtained in the current variation (70, 125, 130 A) with a value of 1417.93 MPa, while the lowest value is obtained in the current variation (70, 100, 115 A) with a value of 1289.01 MPa. The results of metallographic testing showed that the microstructure data on variations in the welding current strength of (70, 100, 115 A), (70, 120, 130 A), and (70, 125, 130 A) resulted in a phase that composed of ferrite and pearlite. The microstructure formed is influenced by the magnitude of the welding current used. The results of macro observations obtained porosity in the weld metal area.

Abstract

DAMIU is a microenterprise that has had significant growth in East Balikpapan, particularly in the Lamaru region. The necessity of water is paramount for humans, as it is a vital component of the body, supports essential activities, and is crucial for general health. Socialization occurs in person in the Lamaru Balikpapan Timur Health Center auditorium. Customers requiring water refills predominantly consist of stalls, private residences, and projects, with a general preference for delivery over self-collection at the depot. The distribution process employs a pick-up vehicle with a capacity of 60-70 gallons each trip. The survey results indicated a production of 3,800 liters per day for one vehicle. Among the 10 depots, 3 DAMIUs utilize one vehicle, while 7 DAMIUs employ 2 to 3 vehicles. The water supply utilized comprises 80% PDAM from 10 DAMIUs. Customers who are frequently disoriented and negligent impede the delivery procedure. Map Marker accurately identifies the client's location by interfacing with Google Maps and allows the input of images of residences, stalls, or locations, as well as customer telephone numbers. Participants from the socialization group rated it 6 out of 10, exhibiting complete curiosity about utilizing the application. DAMIU owners in the East Balikpapan area have achieved income stability and mitigated staff fraud through the utilization of the Map Marker application, presenting a significant advantage for them.
