Abstract

Serat karbon adalah salah satu bagian dari sebuah material komposit. Dimana dalam suatu material yang dibuat dari dua atau lebih material penyusun yang saling memiliki perbedaan sifat fisik dan komposisi kimia, yang jika dikombinasikan akan menghasilkan material berkarakteristik berbeda dengan material-material penyusunnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variasi pemakanan feed rate dan kecepatan spindel dalam pengeboran material CFRP menggunakan endmill terhadap sirkularitas hasil pelubangan material CFRP. Metode yang digunakan adalah berdasarkan hasil sirkularitas yang didapatkan hasilnya akan di uji dengan metode ANOVA sehingga dari kontribusi hasil pengujian ANOVA tersebut akan kelihatan yang paling berpengaruh. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat memberitahukan bahwa dari berbagai variasi pemakanan dan kecepatan spindel yang diberikan, mana yang paling berpengaruh dalam proses pelubangan material CFRP. Analysis of the Effect of CNC Machining Process Using a Two flute Endmill on Circularity in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Materials. Carbon fiber is one part of a composite material a material made of two or more constituent materials with different physical properties and chemical composition, which when combined will produce a material with different characteristics from the constituent materials. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the variation of feed rate and spindle speed in drilling CFRP material using an endmill on the circularity of the perforated CFRP material. The method used is based on the circularity results obtained. The results will be tested with the ANOVA method so that the ANOVA test results' contribution will appear to be the most influential. The results of this study can tell that from the various infeed variations and spindle speeds given, which one has the most influence in the CFRP material perforation process. Abstract

Aluminum matrix composite reinforced CNT have been developed to improve the mechanical properties of aluminum. In this study, the melting of Aluminum 1100 reinforced Carbon Nanotube (1 wt.% CNT) with variations in the addition of Magnesium powder was carried out by the slurry-based method. The casting of the specimens is carried out using a metal mold. CNT powder was first mixed with magnesium powder at 60°C. Then the aluminum is melted to a temperature of 700°C until it melts, then the temperature is lowered to 500°C or the texture has changed to be like mush (slurry based) and then mixed with CNT powder and Magnesium powder are added. After that the alloy was raised again at 720°C for 30 minutes and the stirring process was carried out, after that it was poured into a metal mold with a mold temperature of around 400°C. The samples were then analyzed for mechanical properties and microstructure observations.  The results of the Vickers hardness test before the addition of Mg powder and CNT were 36.7 HV. While after the variation of adding 1wt.% Mg powder, the hardness of the specimen increased to 44.5 HV, the variation of adding 3% Mg powder was 45.3 HV, and the variation of adding 5% Mg powder reached a hardness value of 46 HV. The tensile test results on 3% Mg powder is 241.6 MPa. The wear test results show the wear rate value for the 1% Mg variation of 0.146 mg/s, the 3% Mg variation of 0.106 mg/s, and the 5% Mg variation with a wear rate value of 0.093 mg/s. The α-Al phase is the dominant phase formed, where the grain size and grain boundaries in the 3% Mg variation have a relatively small size and the spread of CNT is evenly distributed in the alloy, so the addition of Mg to the alloy can help spread CNT in Aluminum alloys.

Abstract

Turungan Bontojai Village is one of the areas in Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency (Pangkep) where the majority of the people work as fish farmers or shrimp farmers. Administratively, this area is Sibatua Village, Pangkajene District. This village is an area close to the sea where infrastructure does not receive much attention, especially the electricity network. The electrical energy crisis experienced by the people of this village area needs a solution. In this community service activity, renewable energy from solar cells have been planned and applied to light the residents' ponds in Turungan Bontojaidengan Village. Lighting application with solar panels that will be placed in one of the residents' ponds as a pilot project for the application of the renewable energy. The community also received training on how to care for the equipment so that the community could independently maintain the sustainability of the program in the future. A 100 wp solar cell with a 432 Wh battery is installed to power 4 unit 7 watt light bulb with an additional DC to AC inverter which can be used to power other electronic equipment. The lights are operated at night for 12 hours with a total power consumption of 336 watts per day. Electronic devices are operated during the day by utilizing direct solar energy which is converted from DC current from solar cells to AC current using a 300 watt inverter. On a daily basis, benefits are obtained in the form of free electricity of 400 watts per day to meet the pond needs of the residents of Turungan Bontojai village. This activity has succeeded in increasing citizens' understanding as seen from the results of data processing with SPSS in the Pre-test and Post-test which shows an increase in understanding with a Mean value of 5.35 (pre-test) to 14.55 (post-test). The success of the activity was measured by a questionnaire on participant satisfaction with the community service activities carried out and the results showed that 90% were satisfied with the implementation of the activity.

Abstract

The welding method combines two or more pieces of metal by melting the material to be joined. The joining of two or more base metals through melting or without melting the joint area is known as welding technology. Karang Taruna Desa Lanne is a village government program for youth empowerment. Currently, the youth organization has a program that still needs to be improved to increase the productivity of youth organization members. Therefore, the training program to improve welding skills initiated by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, is expected to positively impact partners. The activity was carried out by providing training material followed by welding practice activities to determine the ability of participants to apply the material provided previously. In addition, the pre-test and post-test questionnaires were given to the participants before and after the training to determine the program's success rate. Based on the quantitative analysis of measurements before training, it was found that 85% did not understand and 15% did not understand how to prepare for welding. After the training, it was found that 65% of the participants understood, 25% understood, and 10% understood very well when preparing for welding. This indicates that the activities carried out have a positive impact on partners.

Abstract

Pemuda milenial kurang tertarik dengan pertanian dan para petani didominasi kaum tua. Hal ini mengkhawatirkan pembangunan pertanian yang berkelanjutan. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan daya tarik pemuda millennial terhadap dunia  pertanian adalah teknologi yang memudahkan dalam bertani misalnya sistem penyiraman otomatis dengan memanfaatkan tenaga surya. Hal lain yang menjadi perhatian adalah rendahnya pemanfaatan pekarangan untuk pertanian di perkotaan, padahal besar potensinya untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan keluarga dan membantu ekonomi keluarga. Oleh karena itu sasaran pengabdian ini adalah para pemuda dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga untuk mendayagunakan pekarangan untuk pertanian terutama sayur-mayur dengan sistem pertanian modern yang efiesien dan ramah lingkungan. Pengabdian dilakukan di kota Pare-Pare Sulawesi Selatan, dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang pemanfaatan pekarangan untuk pertanian dan aplikasi tenaga surya untuk pertanian. Selain itu dilakukan demonstrasi penggunaan sistem penyiraman otomatis memanfaatkan pompa air tenaga surya. Hasil pemanfaatan pompa ialah penggunaan waktu dan energi yang lebih efisien, karena penyiraman tanaman tidak perlu dilakukan secara manual melainkan dapat dilakukan secara otomatis.

Abstract

Pangkajene Islands Regency is one of the centers producing fishery products such as shrimp and milkfish. Shrimp is one of Indonesia's main export commodities in the fisheries sector. However, the productivity of ponds in Pangkep Regency is still relatively low because they are still managed traditionally without aerators. The use of an aerator will increase the oxygen content in the pond so that productivity can be increased. Limited access to electricity for farmers who are far from settlements is one of the problems with the use of aerators which are still not widely used. Therefore, with the help of solar panels to supply electricity to the aerator wheels, farming can run more economically, efficiently and can increase productivity. The solar aerator system is assembled and tested for performance both in the laboratory and during implementation. Then socialization and demonstrations on the use of solar-based aerators were carried out.
