Abstract

Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya guru Matematika SMP/MTs mengembangkan soal berbasis local environment dalam pembelajaran matematika. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan soal matematika berbasis local environment. Metode pengabdian masyarakat yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR). Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei hingga Agustus tahun 2022. Sasaran pengabdian adalah guru-guru dari wilayah Kabupaten Semarang, Kota Semarang, dan Kota Salatiga yang berjumlah 20 orang. Spesifikasi peserta merupakan guru matematika yang mengajar di tingkat SMP/MTs yang relevan dengan pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi MathCityMap. Kegiatan pengabdian Pelatihan Pengembangan Soal Berbasis Local environment untuk Guru SMP/MTs telah dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu pendefinisian masalah dalam pengembangan soal berbasis local environment, perencanaan pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, observasi pelaksanaan, refleksi, perencanaan berdasarkan hasil refleksi, dan perencanaan kegiatan (perbaikan). Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian yaitu 100% peserta memahami materi pelatihan dan sebagian telah mampu menyusun soal matematika berbasis local environment menggunakan aplikasi MathCityMap. Adapun 95% peserta merasa senang mengikuti pelatihan. Hal tersebut juga didukung dengan antusiasme peserta mengikuti materi dan melaksanakan praktik menyusun soal matematika berbasis local environment menggunakan aplikasi MathCityMap.The background for this dedication is that SMP/MTs Mathematics teachers are not used to developing questions based on the local environment in learning mathematics. This service is carried out to improve teachers' abilities in developing local environment-based math problems. The community service method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR). This community service was carried out from May to August 2022. The target of the community service was teachers from the Semarang Regency, Semarang City, and Salatiga City areas, totaling 20 people. The specifications of the participants are mathematics teachers who teach at the SMP/MTs level which are relevant to learning using the MathCityMap application. Community-Based Question Development Training activities for SMP/MTs teachers have been carried out through several stages, namely defining problems in developing local environment-based questions, planning training for developing questions based on local environment, conducting training on developing questions based on local environment, observing the implementation of question-based development training local environment, reflection on the implementation of local environment-based question development training, planning based on the results of reflection, and activity planning (improvement). The result of the service activity is that the service target can develop questions using the local environment, especially using the MathCityMap application.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan baca tulis Al-Qur’an pada anak-anak di TPQ Nurussalam Dusun Gamol, Salatiga, melalui kegiatan pendampingan belajar dengan menggunakan metode PAR. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui tahap survei awal, observasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang diterapkan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) UIN Salatiga terfokus terhadap pendampingan Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ). Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 40 hari mulai tanggal 2 Agustus-10 September 2024 dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif dari pengajar TPQ dan anak-anak. Pendampingan ini fokus pada pembelajaran dengan membagi dua kelas, yaitu kelas Iqra’ serta kelas Juz Amma dan Al-Qur’an menggunakan model yang variatif seperti belajar menulis huruf hijaiyyah, do’a harian, tajwid dasar, menulis ayat, membaca surat bersama-sama, fasholatan, session game, dan lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perkembangan yang bertahap dalam peningkatan kemampuan baca tulis Al-Qur’an. Pendekatan yang interaktif dapat menciptakan suasana belajar yang positif dan menyenangkan, sehingga anak-anak lebih termotivasi untuk menambah kepercayaan dirinya saat mengikuti kelas. Kegiatan pendampingan ini terbukti efektif untuk dijadikan sebagai model pengembangan pendidikan agama di TPQ. Pendampingan semacam ini dapat membina kemampuan teknis di satu sisi, dan dapat membentuk karakter anak-anak disisi lain. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi agar kegiatan pendampingan senantiasa dilanjutkan guna mendukung pembelajaran yang berkelanjutan di TPQ.

Abstract

The problem in this research is that the validity aspect of open-ended-based mathematics learning tools that is oriented towards Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in quadratic equation material is unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine the validity aspects of open-ended-based mathematics learning tools oriented to HOTS quadratic equation material for class IX. This research includes content analysis research. The subject of the research is an open-ended-based mathematics learning tool that is oriented to HOTS on the quadratic equation material for class IX including the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheet (LKPD) and open questions that measure HOTS. The data were taken by three validators using the RPP validity questionnaire, LKPD validity questionnaire, question validity questionnaire and the advice documentation sheet from the validator. Data were analyzed descriptively and converted in a qualitative scale. The results showed that the validity of the open-ended RPP based on the HOTS orientation was in the very good category, the validity of the open-ended LKPD based on the HOTS orientation was in the very good category, the validity of the open-ended which measured HOTS was in the very good category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the open-ended-based mathematics learning tool oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on quadratic equation material has very good validity.

Abstract

The demands of 21st-century pedagogical competencies necessitate that Prospective Mathematics Teachers (PMTs) be proficient in the integrated application of technology and differentiation. This study aims to assess the competence of PMTs in implementing technology-enhanced differentiated instruction within an inductive learning framework, evaluated through seven key elements referencing the frameworks of Prince & Felder and Tomlinson. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, this study analyzed in-depth peer teaching video recordings from the entire cohort of 15 students in a mathematics education program. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the integrated operationalization of these three complex pedagogical elements. Data analysis was conducted rigorously using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, supported by source triangulation to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that PMTs achieved high competence in inductive learning and differentiation (implemented by 93%–100% of PMTs). However, the implementation of technology-enhanced learning showed significant variance, being adequately achieved by only 67% of PMTs. It is concluded that while PMT training is robust in instructional design and differentiation strategies, the integration of technological tools requires further optimization and focused development to meet the demands of 21st-century skills.

Abstract

The shift in learning paradigm from passive to active requires prospective teachers to design meaningful learning experiences, one of which is through a technology-assisted inductive approach. This study aims to analyze the content of lesson plans developed by prospective mathematics teachers to implement technology-supported inductive learning. Using a qualitative content analysis method, this study involved 15 prospective mathematics teacher students from the State Islamic University of Salatiga who had taken courses related to lesson planning. The data sources for this study were lesson plan documents based on inductive learning, including Problem-Based Learning and Discovery Learning. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify hidden patterns and themes. The results show that prospective teachers have integrated technology into each indicator of inductive learning, where the learning stages clearly begin from specific cases or problems to the generalization of concepts. This study contributes to providing an in-depth understanding of how prospective mathematics teachers translate inductive learning theory into lesson planning practices in the digital era, while also identifying aspects that need improvement in teacher training. Future research should investigate the relationship between the quality of lesson plan design and classroom teaching performance. Furthermore, comparative studies involving different technology platforms are needed to identify which tools best facilitate the conceptual discovery phase of inductive learning.
