Abstract

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been widely used as an effective and efficient therapeutic strategy for managing various mental disorders in both developed and developing countries. However, each modification of CBT counseling services provided to families, particularly those with marital conflicts, will inevitably have varying levels of effectiveness. Therefore, a scientific study is needed to provide an overview of how effective CBT counseling is for families, even with various modifications. The purpose of this study is to systematically review and analyze the effects of CBT on families with marital conflicts, considering modifications in the content and duration of the sessions provided. The research method involves a literature review by collecting sources from databases such as TOJDAC, SCI, International Journal of Medical Research & Health Sciences, IJHCS, and the Iranian Journal of Educational Sociology, while establishing inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study results, derived from the analysis of four pieces of literature on cognitive behavioral therapy, indicate that families or couples who receive CBT counseling are generally better at managing and resolving family conflicts, particularly marital conflicts, compared to those who do not receive therapy.

Abstract

Bullying is a form of violent behavior characterized by psychological or physical coercion against an individual or a group of individuals who are perceived as "weaker" by another individual or group. Behavioral therapy is an approach to counseling and psychotherapy that focuses on changing behavior. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in addressing psychological issues in adolescents affected by bullying, the steps involved in CBT, and the characteristics of the sample taken. The sources for this literature review were obtained through "Google Scholar." The writing method used is a journal-based literature review, which involves several stages: determining a broad topic, screening journals, and identifying themes from the references obtained. The results of the literature review indicate that the application of CBT is effective in addressing psychological issues in adolescents affected by bullying, leading to increased self-esteem and confidence in bullying victims, reduced anxiety in facing bullying behavior, and a decrease in aggressive behavior among bullying perpetrators.

Abstract

The World Health Organization states that there are approximately 23 million people with schizophrenia worldwide. The positive and negative symptoms experienced by patients with schizophrenia can significantly affect their ability to engage in activities, build relationships, and live independently. Art therapy, as part of a therapeutic modality, serves as a therapeutic intervention and can be used as a tool to provide psychological insights and promote emotional maturity. Painting or drawing can visualize symbols that emerge from the subconscious as expressions of the patients. The research method involved electronic searches using databases such as PubMed Health, ScienceDirect, and CrossRef, with the keyword "art therapy." The search for journals was further narrowed by adding keywords such as "psychiatric, schizophrenia, drawing, and painting," with a publication range between 2013 and 2018, and utilizing research methods including randomized control trials and quasi-experimental studies. The results of the research indicate that the management of art therapy through painting and drawing in patients with schizophrenia can enhance motivation, improve interpersonal relationships, increase medication adherence, improve sleep patterns, reduce both positive and negative symptoms, and decrease levels of anxiety, depression, and anger. Based on a literature review of four journals, it was found that painting therapy is effective in improving the condition of patients with schizophrenia.

Abstract

Generation Z, as a group born between the mid-1990s and early 2010s, faces complex mental health challenges amidst rapid social, economic and technological changes. This study aimed to explore the mental health characteristics of Generation Z, with the majority of respondents aged 20-21 years old. The instrument used was the SRQ-29. The results showed a high prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (57.0%), neurotic symptoms (39.0%), and psychotic symptoms (30.5%), with a very low rate of drug use (0.1%). This suggests that Generation Z was vulnerable to mental health, hence, primary and secondary prevention efforts related to PTSD as well as psychotic and neurotic disorders specific to Gen Z need to be initiated.
