Abstract

This study analyzes the role of UN Women in creating gender equality in Afghanistan. Afghan women have experienced a lot of discrimination, such as not being allowed to leave the house without the assistance of a muhrim or a brother, being restricted from getting an education, and not being allowed to work. Therefore, UN Women is present in Afghanistan to help women regain their rights by carrying out various strategic programs and activities that have been designed by UN Women. This study uses qualitative methods, with data collection techniques using library research methods by collecting data sources from journals, books, and websites. This study uses the perspective of Pluralism and uses the theory of the role of International Organizations. Based on these data, this study succeeded in finding that the role of UN Women in Afghanistan has a role as an Instrument, Arena and Independent Actor. These roles have made a difference in creating gender equality for Afghan women, although there are still problems left behind. Keywords: UN Women, Gender Equality, Afghanistan.

Abstract

This research analyzed how the influence of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as the international organization on Afghanistan illicit drug problem that occurred during the 2017-2020 period. Afghanistan suffer loss from illicit drug that exists in this country as increase of death rate, drugs addict, etc. The Afghan government has made efforts to reduce the number of drug distributions in their country, but these efforts are still not enough. Therefore, government began cooperation with UNODC that can increase the effectiveness of its performance in fighting drug crime in Afghanistan. This study used a qualitative method, with data collection techniques through literature study sourced from several books, journals, articles, and websites. This study uses the perspective of Pluralism and the theory of the Role of International Organizations. The focus theory of this discussion is UNODC roled as an actor described in Clive Archer's theory. The study shared that UNODC as an actor has important role in fighting against drug crime in Afghanistan with contributed through Afghanistan cooperation with its programs such as; regional programmes, country programmes and monitoring programmes. The program included new alternative planning, campaign to raise public awareness, and other activities. Keywords: Transnational crime, Illicit drugs, International Organizations.

Abstract

This study will see how the role of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in animal problems that is implemented through its programs in the Riau Province towards increasing the population of endemic endangered animals in the regions. To answer the research problem, the author conducted a qualitative research that aims to describe what WWF has done in Riau Province in dealing with animal conservation problems by using data collection techniques through library research data-documents, books, and information from the internet. This study uses the theory of Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which analyzes the causes and impacts of the presence of NGOs in an area. The results of this study indicate that WWF has performed its role as an International Organization/NGO. This is shown by the implementation of several conservation programs carried out by WWF. However, when viewed from the increase in population, WWF has not succeeded in creating a trend of increasing the population of endemic animals that are threatened with extinction in Riau Province. Abstract

This study analyzes how Japan's cultural diplomacy through Anime Festival Asia utilizes the power of soft power. Japan, which experienced defeat after World War II, changed the image of their country, which no longer uses hard power but rather uses soft power to build relations with other countries through the spread of popular culture. The purpose of this study is to see how Japan's efforts to carry out cultural diplomacy through the Anime Festival Asia event in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques through literature study sourced from several books, journals, articles, websites. This research uses Constructivism perspective and Cultural Diplomacy theory. The results of this paper indicate that Japan as a country has succeeded in building better cooperation using Soft Diplomacy in a cultural context, through the spread of Japanese pop culture which is in demand by teenagers in Indonesia. This success can be seen at the Anime Festival Asia Indonesia (AFAID) which is the largest Japanese pop culture event in Indonesia, this activity shows success and benefits for both countries. Abstract

IOM is part of the United Nations (UN) system as an intergovernmental organization engaged in migration. IOM is dedicated to advancing humane and orderly migration. IOM works to promote international cooperation on migration issues, help find practical solutions to migration problems, and provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need. The aim of the researchers was to find out the role of IOM in implementing the right to education for child refugees in Pekanbaru City. This research is based on the theory of the role of international organizations according to Andre H. Pareira, which contains international organizations as initiators, facilitators, and mediators. Data was collected using qualitative methodology and interviews as a source of information, most of the data was published on IOM's official website, books, journals, official documents relating to the implementation of the right to education for child refugees. The results showed that IOM played a role in providing educational assistance to child refugees in Pekanbaru. IOM as a facilitator, namely IOM provides teachers in refugee ccommodation, IOM provides learning facilities for child refugees. In addition, IOM also produces an annual report on refugee education. Abstract

The importance of NPK fertilizer for plants makes testing NPK fertilizer important to know the quality of fertilizer sold in the market. CV. Scorlest produces NPK fertilizers with doses of 20-14- 13 and labeled Lodrin. This fertilizer also needs to be tested its effectiveness on the resulting coffee seedlings. The use of NPK fertilizer is expected to affect the index of the readiness of seeds in coffee plants. Based on this research, this study aims to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of Lodrin fertilizer 20-14-13 on the growth of coffee seedlings. This experiment was conducted in the village of Kemiri, Jabung District, Malang Regency, conducted from August 2016 until December 2016. The experiment used a complete randomized block design with three replications. The clones used are BP 308 age 7 months. Based on the results of experiments conducted Lodrin Fertilizer 20-14-13 have the best quality seed index at a minimum dose of 3.5g per plant plus 0.75g urea per plant technically this fertilizer passed as equal to standard fertilization and higher than the control. Lodrin fertilizer 20-14-13 gives R / C ratio of 3.14 so that economically fertilizer is feasible for use in coffee cultivation business.

Abstract

Desa Banjar Seminai, Kabupaten Siak, saat ini menghadapi tantangan sosial yang signifikan akibat maraknya praktik judi online di kalangan remaja. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital dan kesadaran hukum remaja serta orang tua terhadap bahaya sistemik perjudian daring di wilayah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah edukasi partisipatif selama satu hari yang melibatkan 42 peserta, dengan instrumen evaluasi berupa pre-test and post-test. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan, di mana skor rata-rata (mean) meningkat dari 45 pada tahap pre-test menjadi 82 pada tahap post-test. Meskipun secara kolektif meningkat, terdapat 12 peserta (28,5%) yang masih berada pada kategori pemahaman “Cukup” karena kompleksitas istilah hukum teknis. Temuan lapangan menegaskan bahwa lemahnya pengawasan orang tua dan tekanan teman sebaya (peer pressure) menjadi faktor pendorong utama. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa edukasi hukum dan penguatan peran keluarga sangat krusial dalam membangun ketahanan sosial remaja terhadap ancaman judi online di era digital.
