Abstract

Garbage is an important issue in everyday life, especially in boarding schools occupied by approximately 2500 students. The amount of waste that many every day cause many problems. In this community service is accompanied by recycling training of plastic waste to reduce the impact on earth. Assistance is carried out for 22 days with the activity is the provision of materials about waste, providing training reuse of plastic waste. Practice making various handicrafts from plastic waste. Evaluate the consolidation of results. From the evaluation results obtained the conclusion that this assistance received a positive response with all activities followed until the end. Participants produce works that can be reused such as bags, wallets and shopping bags. For the results that have been achieved in bag making obtained an average of 80 which means in terms of material variation, design and harmony of products with the category of being. Itmeans that there is still a need for future facilitation to be able to make better crafts

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out the differences of parenting styles in rural and urban society toward with adolescent’s involvement in family decision making. This research using a cross sectional survey method and embracing the theories of Montessori, Steinberg and Santrock about adolescent development, and Yusuf in parenting styles. The instrument used was adapted from the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire. It was consisted of 13 questions they were independency, responsibility, honesty, self-acceptance, receiving mistakes, trust, protection, freedom, involvement, and discipline. The result of rural society was the highest maximum value on the acceptance question (59%), namely admitting mistakes. For urban society data showed that the highest score of the questionnaire is about the parenting style of acceptance with a value of 62%. This meant that the result of the parenting style the child receives was the permissiveness style of care. The conclusion based on the area the urban society is more democratic in parenting. It makes teenagers more independent, confident and open minded

Abstract

Literacy is vital in understanding pupils' knowledge of learning content. However, learners have encountered several learning challenges, including vocabulary mastering and reading comprehension. The purpose of this study was to see if there was a link between students' literacy practice, world knowledge proficiency, and text skimming in senior high school. This study's data was analyzed using quantitative methodologies and a correlation design. There were 141 tenth grade students from SMAN 4 Kota Kediri who took part. They completed the vocabulary and reading comprehension tests by multiple-choice questions and items for the reading habits questionnaire. The researcher utilized Pearson Product Moment Coefficient and using SPSS ver 26.0 for Windows to assess the correlation. Following data analysis, it was discovered that all variables have a significant (sig.) value of 0.00. while coefficient The correlation between reading literacy and vocabulary mastery was 0.504, whereas the correlation between reading literacy and text skimming was 0.257 and the correlation between vocabulary mastery and text skimming was 0.441. Based on the above results, there was a substantial connection between all variables, therefore Ho is rejected but Ha should be approved. When pupils have a high degree of reading literacy, it can be argued that they have a greater skill in vocabulary mastery and text skimming. The higher the degree of students' reading literacy and vocabulary knowledge, the better the students' reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

Students in the 21st century are emphasized to master digital skills to support their education. Students majoring in English education besides mastering English, they must also be able to teach on a digital platform The problem of this research is how to strengthen digital competence in IAIN Kediri students through Project Based Learning. This research aims to improve the digital competence skills of English study program students through the Project Based Learning method. Strengthening was carried out in the Teaching English for Young Learners class using Classroom Action Research in 6 meetings. With the strengthening of the class, focused on digital competence namely Google Site, Canva Poster, Quizzis and White Board Animation. The projects are designing Learning Englsih Website for Elementary Students using Google Site and Canva Poster, Developing Listening material and exercises using Quizziz and Canva, constructing speaking material using White board Animation, speaking exercises using Quizziz and Canva, Designing writing material using Quizziz and Canva speaking exercises using Quizzis and Canva, Designing writing material using Quizzis, White Board Animation and Canva Poster.
