Abstract

Bearing clearance adalah jumlah dari free ball bearing yang bergerak sebelum instalasi. Bearing clearance sangat berpengaruh terhadap nilai rolling resistance. Semakin besar nilai clearance, semakin kecil nilai rolling resistance-nya. Rolling bearing tahan terhadap ball bearing yang telah dan akan terguling karena gesekan. Pada penelitian ini, tipe bearing yang digunakan adalah 6301 ZZ C3 dan 6301 ZZ C4 dengan kecepatan rotasi sebesar 29 rpm, 310 rpm, 330 rpm, dan diberikan gaya 165 N, 175 N, dan 200 N. Uji tes bearing dilakukan secara eksperimen menggunakan peralatan rolling resistance test. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa bearing dengan tipe 6301 ZZ C4 mempunyai nilai rolling resistance yang lebih kecil sebesar 0.22 N daripada bearing tipe 6301 ZZ C3. Nilai rolling resistane bearing 6301 ZZ C3 adalah sebesar 1.15 N dan nilai rolling resistance 6301 ZZ C4 adalah 0.93 N.

Abstract

The research used an experimental method by comparing the use of condenser separation with addition subcooler and condenser 10 U. In the same process condensation was done with the same condenser length with varying refrigerant discharge of 114x10-6 m3/s, 131x10-6 m3/s and 148x10-6 m3/s. The study used a refrigerant LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) with a composition of 50% butane and propane 50%. The objective of study was to analyze heat release rate values ​​of both condensers on the coefficient of machine / COP (Coefficient of Performance) value of the refrigerator. Research on the 114x10-6 m3/s refrigerant discharge resulted in average of heat release rate separation condenser with addition subcooler higher than 10 U condenser with value of 0.000455727 kW. Refrigerant discharge test 131x10-6 m3/s, the average of heat release rate separation condenser with addition subcooler is higher than the condenser 10 U of 0.000297211 kW. Refrigerant discharge test 148x10-6 m3/s, condenser 10 U yields average of heat release rate value higher than separation condenser with addition subcooler amount of 0,014013777 kW. The average value of heat release rate by the condenser 10 U will have the same trend value of COP, while at the separation condenser with addition subcooler yielding a value which is inversely proportional to the COP yield, the lower of heat release rate the resulting COP value will increase.

Abstract

Rolling resistance is the resistance of a wheel that will roll or rotate due to friction between the outer surface of the wheel and the track surface. This study aims to determine the effect of tread patterns on the coefficient of rolling resistance. The tires that will be used in this study are hard compounds with a ratio pattern and tread pattern raised by 2 mm with a tire hardness of 79.5 Ha, and using pressure variations at 30 Psi, 40 Psi, and 50 Psi. Coefficient value rolling resistance is 1.39% with a rolling resistance of 8.05 N. These results are produced by a hard compound with a tread pattern of 2 mm at a pressure of 50 Psi. Meanwhile, the rolling is 2.04% with a rolling resistance of 11.82 N. These results are produced by hard compound tires with a pattern at a tire pressure of 30 Psi.Keywords: compound, tread pattern, rolling resistance

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe presence of biofouling has an impact on the ship’s performance, which is reduced to require more fuel, in the end, it contributes significantly to cost increases. Biofilms provide a suitable substrate for the growth of microorganisms. Ship hull as a substrate for biofilms has many kinds of material. Steel, wood, laminated bamboo, and fiber are often used for ship hulls. Different material makes different characteristics of substrate for biofilms. The aim of this research is to determine the growth rate of biofouling in each shipbuilding material and to find out which vessel material is suitable for use in the Bali Strait. The experiment was located in Boom Marina, Banyuwangi. The materials used in this research are wood, laminated bamboo, and fiber. The daily growth rate (DGR) is calculated every week of observation. Wood had the most biofouling with a DGR of 2,646 g/day. Laminated bamboo had the least biofouling in this research after 2 months of immersion with a DGR of 0,086 g/day. Abstract

To improve the performance of the WEDM process, it is necessary to adjust the WEDM parameter settings to optimize the material removal rate (MRR) by decreasing the electrode wire wear (TWR) value. Using SKD 61 steel as the material, the impact of peak current, voltage open, and wire tension on material removal rate and tool wear ratio is used to estimate the ideal level parameters. The study's findings should be able to offer suitable parameter settings for WEDM work. Peak current (Ip) of 63.7%, wire tension of 31.4%, and open voltage of up to 1.9% are the machining parameters that impact the material removal rate (MRR) in the wire cut electrical discharge machine process sequentially. Open voltage, which contributes 54.4%, the wire tension parameter, which contributes 36.5%, and the peak current (Ip) parameter, which contributes 7.8%, are the machining parameters that have the most significant cumulative influence on the tool wear ratio (TWR). Peak current parameter at level 3 (9A), open voltage parameter at level 1 (5V), and wire tension parameter at level 2 (8N) are the ideal settings for MRR and TWR, resulting in MRR values of 9.861 mm3/min and TWR as high as 0.078. The study's findings usually show that higher wire tension and peak currents enhance material removal rates because the jumps of sparks produce tremendous energy. In contrast to how to open voltage and wire tension affect the wear value of the wire, thicker wires erode more quickly because more tremendous energy is generated, necessitating ideal conditions for both responses. The results of the optimization of the two responses are produced by raising the maximum peak current, lowering the minimum open voltage, and figuring out the ideal wire tension. Abstract

The research aims to analyze and reveal combustion characteristics in a Cylindrical Meso Scale (CMS) Combustor with a wire mesh flame holder as a reference for designing a compact, efficient, and high-density energy source for future vehicles. This experiment analyzes the combustion ’s of a butane gas (C4H10)-air mixture in a cylindrical meso-scale (CMS) combustor with the addition of wire mesh flame holder on the stability of the combustion flame, as initiation of future vehicle energy source. The diameter of the CMS combustor with wire mesh flame holder is varied to give an idea of the effect of heat loss on the combustion flame's characteristics. The results show that the wire mesh as a flame holder is essential in the combustion stabilization mechanism. A stable flame can be stabilized in a CMS combustor with wire mesh. Variations in the diameter of the CMS combustor will result in variations in the surface-to-volume ratio, heat loss, and contact area of the wire mesh flame holder. At a large diameter, it produces the characteristics of a combustion flame with a more stable flame stability limit than a smaller diameter, a dimmer flame visualization than a smaller diameter at the same air and fuel discharge, a more distributed flame mode map area than the smaller diameter, lower flame temperature and combustor wall temperature than the smaller diameter, and relatively higher energy output than the smaller diameter.

Abstract

The development of technology and industry is currently being followed by increasing demand from the industry for mining or mineral materials, one of which is tin. Indonesia as the second largest tin producing country in the world plays a very important role in the development of technology and industry in the world. In Indonesia, tin mining is carried out by several companies, one of which is PT Timah (Persero) Tbk. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the KIP 17 dredger system is 77% and the critical components obtained are the shaft and joint on the pump. The results of the analysis using Fishbone diagrams show that the quality of bolts and nuts and sealsused is not good. With the results of the study, it is recommended to increase personnel, especially in maintenance activities, and to improve the quality of nuts, bolts, and seals so as not to cause water to enter which can damage core components. Keywords—Mining, FMEA, Dredger
