Abstract

Today the growth of home industries increase rapidly indeed it is very competitive. One of the strategies to gain competitive advantage is to continuously improve the quality of its products. This conditions have to be supported by the implementation of a quality control on the process in order to later be able to produce a product that has high competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to analyze the production process of snacks at home industry whether they are already under statistical control or not and analyze whether the production process meets the specified design or not. The data are used in this study are both secondary and primary data. Primary data was obtained through direct observation and interviews, while the secondary data obtained from the internet, literature, and journals. Here, we use Statistical Process Control as the analytical tool by making X and R control charts and process capability analysis. The results showed that the control of the production process snacks still not reliable production process. This is an indication that the process is in out of control or it is still experiencing irregularities. Process capability ratio, indicating that the process is said to be worth (not capable) and it must be improved. Process capability index, indicating that the accuracy of the process is less, which means that the process can still be improved. Keywords: Statistical Process Control, Control Chart, Process Capability

Abstract

In each design do have to consider the strength of the material. The force that must be considered regarding the dimensions, materials, and the structure of the workpiece. This research will be discussed on the analysis of stress concentration crash test specimen doors and bumpers electric car with the finite element method. The finite element method is a numerical method used to solve technical problems and physical symptoms metematis which include stress, strain, force, and vibration analysis. The finite element method is to compare between calculation using CATIA software and use manual calculation. In this case the finite element method to be used is the finite element method 2D triangular elements with 3 nodes. From this study, the largest and smallest stress to the crash test door electric car is8.65 x 106 N/m2 and 1.71 x 105 N/m2. while stress for the largest and smallest electric car bumper crash test are: 4.69 x 107 N/m2 and 1.01 x 106 N/m2. Abstract

Masyarakat nelayan merupakan salah satu bagian masyarakat Indonesia yang hidup dengan mengelola potensi sumberdaya perikanan. Salah satu pemukiman masyarakat nelayan dengan populasi tinggi berada di Kecamatan Puger, Kabupaten Jember. Berdasarkan hasil survey lapangan pada 24 Juli 2020 diketahui bahwa penghasilan nelayan tradisional di Desa Puger Wetan rata-rata hanya cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan harian dan bahkan cenderung sulit saat menghadapi masa paceklik ikan atau cuaca buruk. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya nyata dalam meningkatkan hasil tangkapan nelayan kecil dengan memanfaatkan teknologi modern seperti fish finder. Fish finder adalah alat pendeteksi sehingga memudahkan nelayan mengetahui lokasi kerumunan ikan. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan antara lain, survey lapangan kemudian sosialisasi dan pelatihan penggunaan fish finder. Setelah itu, tim melakukan monitoring penggunaan fish finder selama 3 bulan yang dimuali dari Desember 2020 hingga Februari 2021. Sayangnya pengambilan data kurang maksimal dikarenakan nelayan tidak rutin melaut akibat cuaca buruk. Hasil tangkapan nelayan menggunakan fish finder mengalami peningkatan jika dibandingkan dengan hasil tangkapan tahun sebelumnya. Presentase peningkatan hasil tangkapan pada periode bulan I (Desember 2020) adalah 24%, periode bulan II (Januari 2021) adalah 27% dan periode bulan III (Februari 2021) adalah 32%. Peningkatan hasil tangkapan berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan pendapatan nelayan yang mana pada periode I terjadi peningkatan pendapatan sebesar Rp. 552.000, periode II sebesar Rp. 496.000 dan periode III sebesar Rp. 876.000.

Abstract

Metal Matrix Composites (MMC) merupakan jenis komposit diantara banyaknya jenis komposit. Komposit logam sendiri merupakan kombinasi dari dua material atau lebih yang dimana logam sebagai matrik dan keramik sebagai penguatnya. Kombinasi tersebut bertujuan untuk mendapatkan material baru yang mempunyai sifat mekanis yang lebih baik daripada bahan dasarnya.Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Mg dan penambahan fraksi volume SiC terhadap sifat mekanik komposit Al6061-SiC menggunakan metode stir casting. Partikel SiC digunakan sebagai penguat dikarenakan sifatnya yang mampu menaikkan sifat mekanik dari komposit itu sendiri, sedangkan serbuk Magnesium (Mg) ditambahkan sebagai wetting agent agar mampu membasahi daripada matrix serta memperkecil batas butir pada komposit Al6061/SiC. Pada pengujian kekerasan yang dilakukan didapatkan hasil terbaik pada penambahan 8% SiC yaitu senilai 62,5 HRB. Pengujian tarik menunjukkan nilai kekuatan tarik tertinggi pada spesimen penambahan 8% SiC senilai 151,3 MPa.

Abstract

Dinamika gaya longitudinal kereta api merupakan sebuah sistem persamaan diferensial dengan mengabaikan gerakan lateral atau vertikal dari gerbong pada persamaan, pemodelan, dan simulasi longitudinal kereta api. Penelitian dilakukan pada sebelas rangkaian kereta api menggunakan perangkat lunak Universal Mechanism dengan memodelkan sebuah lokomotif tipe CC300 yang dirangkaian pada sepuluh buah gerbong barang tipe KKBW. Tujuan dari simulasi untuk mengetahui letak gaya coupler maksimum (FCoupler) yang terjadi pada perangkat koneksi rangkaian gerbong barang ketika melalui lintasan berbentuk S, radius 300m dengan kemiringan 0‰ dan 6‰. Penelitian selanjutnya perlu menganalisa simulasi dengan menggunakan model Train 3D pada posisi rangkaian kereta yang memiliki gaya coupler maksimum dengan memperhitungkan gaya vertikal dan lateral yang dialami. Pembuatan spesifikasi teknis kereta berangkaian yang didapatkan dari hasil simulasi dan pengujian lapangan dianggap perlu dalam menentukan jumlah dan panjang rangkaian kereta sesuai spesifikasi lintasan di Indonesia.

Abstract

The use of composites has touched various fields, for example in land, sea and air transportation and household appliances. The coffee pulp particle composite panel produces new properties that are unique and affect the characteristics of mechanical strength, especially tensile strength and bending strength [7]. The standard for making good coffee pulp composite panels and producing optimal strength needs to be done [4]. To reduce the air bubbles created, a degasification process needs to be done [5]. In making composites using the hand lay-up method has several main parameters for its tensile strength, where the main parameters used are stirring speed 515 rpm, 915 rpm, 1430 rpm; duration of degasification 7.5 minutes, 10 minutes, 12.5 minutes; degasification pressure -30 kPa, -60 kPa, -90 kPa. The optimal results obtained were 24.88 MPa with an increase of 23.18% from previous studies using the initial combination.

Abstract

One of the recent developments in carbon fiber is using nano zinc oxide (ZnO) as a coating on carbon fiber to create piezoelectric materials. Piezoelectric materials can generate electricity when subjected to mechanical pressure or strain, and vice versa. ZnO nanomaterials have been a focal point of research due to their high surface-to-volume ratio and high reactivity. This study reported on the use of ZnO for coating agents in carbon fiber sensors. The novelty in this research is the composition of current, time, ethanol concentration, and pH electrolyte to produce the optimum composition of piezoelectric material. The process was conducted using an electrochemical method, which converts electrical energy into chemical energy through electro-deposition. This study considers four independent variables: electrolyte current (1.2 A and 1.4 A), electrolyte pH (2.0, 4.0, and 6.0), ethanol concentration (70% and 96%), and coating duration (90, 180, and 270 seconds). The results show that 1.4 A produces the highest average voltage, followed by electrolyte pH 6 and 70% ethanol concentration. The best coating time was 270 seconds producing the highest average voltage. Micro and SEM confirm that 1.4 A produced a thicker and more uniform layer compared to 1.2 A. High pH, 70% ethanol concentration, and longer coating time also contributed to the formation of thicker layers. XRD test shows that the layers formed had amorphous and hexagonal crystal structures. The average crystal diameter size varies depending on the combination of independent variables used in the coating process. With these results, piezoelectric has potential as a pulse sensor material.

Abstract

The SME sector is the source of all aspects related to the pattern of human life, starting from the clothing, food and housing sectors. In the process of forming the packaging there are several methods used, the method that is often used is thermoforming. One of the simplest thermoforming methods is vacuum forming. In this research, research will be carried out to identify the strength of the frame structure of a vacuum forming machine with ST 37 iron material. This research focuses on vacuum forming machine frames. The weight of each component includes a 5.2 Kg Box Heater, 7.2 Kg Vacuum Chamber and 3.2 Kg Vacuum. The results obtained from this study are that the vacuum forming machine frame is able to withstand other machine frames. Where the results of the simulation and analytical calculations are not much different. Visualization of the loading of the vacuum forming machine can be seen immediately where the location of the critical load during the simulation is the Maximum Normal Stress of 1.1689 Mpa. The Minimum Normal Stress is -0.88281 and the shear stress is 0.3865 Mpa. And for the safety factor of this simulation is 31.44. The frame of the vacuum forming machine holds the load of the entire component.

Abstract

Coating is a chemical process that is useful for changing the physical or mechanical properties of the material to be coated. Electrochemical is a coating technology that utilizes chemical processes assisted by electrical energy. The layers that are often grown today are layers that have semiconductor properties. One of the semiconductor layers is ZnO which is often used as a sensor or piezoelectric. This research aims to determine the effect of variations in precursor and current on the results of ZnO coating on carbon fiber used for pulse sensors. The research method was carried out experimentally using a DC Power Supply, USB Oscilloscope and Zinc Acetate Dihydrate precursor solution. The precursor variations in this study were 0.5 gr/50mL and 1.0 gr/50mL, while the current variations were 0.8 A, 1.0 A and 1.2 A. The results showed that the voltage from the pulse sensor was the most high at a precursor of 1.0 gr/50 mL with a current of 1.2 A. It can be concluded that the thickness and structure of the ZnO layer greatly influences the performance of the pulse sensor.
