Abstract

Many academicians and practitioners have been acknowledging that information technology (IT) adoption could improve company performance. However, previous research indicates contradictory evidence. These inconsistencies can be attributed to variations among the studies in choosing proxy for IT adoption and due to contingent on other factors. This research aims at analyzing the influence of a contingent factor that is corporate governance (CG) concerning the effectiveness of IT adoption in influencing company performance measured by change in return on assets. Two proxies are used for IT adoption:  company expenses on IT and the level of the organization managing IT.  Data is collected and analyzed from annual reports of all banks listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2011 to 2013. Multiple linear regression models are employed. This research shows that corporate governance practice could improve the effectiveness of IT adoption in improving company performance.  This research implies that better CG practices in providing direction and monitoring on IT can lead to better company performance.

Abstract

This study explores nurses’ experiences following patient safety incidents and the implementation of a just culture in mental hospitals from a human resource management perspective. A qualitative phenomenological approach was used through in-depth interviews with 12 nurses and thematic analysis. The findings show that patient safety incidents cause anxiety, guilt, fear, and emotional distress while encouraging professional reflection and increased vigilance. Just culture was perceived as a constructive and non-punitive approach that emphasizes balanced accountability between individual and system factors. Organizational support, workload management, workforce planning, and continuous patient safety training were identified as essential strategies for reducing post-incident impacts. The study concludes that integrating a just culture with human resource management practices supports organizational learning and sustainable patient safety improvement. However, the qualitative design, limited number of participants, and single-hospital setting may restrict generalizability. This study contributes to the understanding of post-incident nursing management through organizational support and learning-oriented approaches.

Abstract

Cooperatives play a significant role in supporting community-based economic development and expanding access to financial services for local communities in Indonesia. However, governance challenges, such as leadership dualism, can generate organizational instability that potentially undermines employee performance. This study aims to examine the relationship between Servant Leadership and Employee Performance and to test the mediating role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in a cooperative experiencing leadership dualism. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was used. The population and sample consisted of 117 permanent employees of the Nias Rural Savings and Financing Cooperative (KSP3 Nias), selected through total sampling method. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings indicate that Servant Leadership is positively and significantly associated with both OCB (β = 0.764, p < 0.001) and Employee Performance (β = 0.345, p = 0.002). Furthermore, OCB partially mediated the relationship between Servant Leadership and Employee Performance (indirect effect = 0.391, p < 0.001), with Servant Leadership and OCB jointly explaining 71.2% of the variance in Employee Performance (R² = 0.712). These results suggest that a servant-oriented leadership approach is associated with higher levels of voluntary extra-role behavior among employees, which, in turn, appears to function as a stabilizing factor for organizational performance, even under conditions of structural conflict.
