Abstract

Chemokines are key components in the development of chronic disease. Chemokine C-C motif ligan 7 (CCL7) is one of the chemokines believed to be associated with the pathology of atherosclerosis that causes stroke. CCL7 may play a role in inflammatory events by attracting macrophages and moncytes to further amplify inflammatory processes and contribute to atherosclerosis progression. Common Genetic variation in CCL7 gene has been associated with atherosclerosis progress, so the main objective of this study was identification of polymorphism of CCL7 gene in stroke patients. Five blood samples were taken from five patients suffering from stroke. The DNA of the blood samples were extracted, amplified its CCL7 gene, and sequenced. The results showed a sequence of 1151 bp consisting of regulator, exon 1, intron and exon 2. One polymorphic sites were found in the intron 1 region, at position 1447. The SNP genotype identified was TC.

Abstract

This training was designed to introduce ecoprint techniques to members of the Women's Dharma Association of the West Papua Provincial Forestry Service, emphasizing its potential as a community-based business opportunity. The activity utilized natural materials readily available in the surrounding environment, such as butterfly pea leaves and flowers, teak leaves, and other local foliage. The training was conducted in stages, beginning with an introduction to the basic concepts of eco-printing, followed by hands-on practice using two main techniques: pounding and steaming. These techniques were applied to cloth tote bags and ceramic mugs. The results showed that participants demonstrated a higher level of proficiency in producing eco prints using the steaming technique compared to the pounding method.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify genetic variation of cDNA sequence from low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene of hyporesponder cynomolgus macaques. The animal used in this study was one hyporesponder cynomolgus macaque obtained from selection result in Primate Research Center-Bogor Institute of Agriculture (PSSP IPB). Amplification of cDNA from LDLR gene was performed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method with 4 pairs of walking primer. Alignment of amplification result sequence from 4 pairs of walking primer generated target sequence of 2353 bp which located on position 188-2540. Analysis of target sequence alignment on reference sequence in GenBank found 8 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), namely c408CT; c.1200CT; c.1497CT; c.1644TC; 1791TC; 1804AG; 2088CT; and 2377GA. Of 8 SNPs, c.1804AG and 2377GA. Two SNP (c.1804AG; dan 2377GA) caused changing of amino acids composition namely p.K602E (lysine glutamate) and p.V793I (valine isoleucine). This result proved the potential use of genetic variation of cDNA sequence from LDLR gene as genetic marker for selection of hyporesponder cynomolgus macaques.
