Abstract

Autistic people might suffer from misconceptions in communication when they reach adolescent or as puberty affects their hormonal balance. To show their feelings to the opposite sex, autistics teenagers might communicate with each other by exchanging non-verbal symbols. Such condition occurred at the London School Beyond Academy (LSBA) Jakarta skills training institute. The present study aims to investigate non-verbal communications among young people with autism which take place when they are attracted to the opposite sex in LSBA. To investigate the matter, descriptive qualitative method was applied. Data is collected through interviews and observations. The results suggest non-verbal communication is not only understood by two teenagers who are attracted to each other, but also by their friends. The results show that non-verbal communications through symbols are common things among adolescents with special needs and such communication can be interpreted easily. The simplicity of perceived symbols and direct meaning from their friends make it easier for teenagers with special needs to express their feelings. Parents need to provide their supports by giving normative familial boundaries. In addition, educators can get involved by providing understanding of psychological stages of autistic teenagers. However, educators still need to give boundaries to those teenagers such as forbidding them from doing direct contact when no one is watching.  under

Being a single female parent is a challenge in itself. It is not uncommon for the stigma of society to underestimate or degrade women who are divorced or separated because they are not meant for each other or losing their spouse due to death. During this pandemic, members communicate more often both in the form of conversations and attending various virtual seminars. Maslow divides the stages of human needs into 5 which lead to self-actualization. Through qualitative data that is strengthened by quantitative data, it is found that members of the Purple Women Community do feel that the communication that has been established helps the formation of self-actualization. Feeling comfortable in expressing their feelings and discussing both through forums and private channels using internet platforms occurs and forms self-actualization.

Abstract

Technologies matched the effectiveness of various health activity strategies, such as exercise monitoring, information, and social support. The purpose is to find out that technology has become part of delivering sports information that is used by the applications and devices, creating communication between individuals and devices they used to plan and record sports and exercise routines, physical performance, and record all the activity. Effective communication can occur if the sender and the recipient have good skills in exchanging messages. This study may provide an overview of verbal and nonverbal that may occur during communication in sports activities. This manuscript analyze whether technology enhances or hinders Interpersonal Communication using George Herbert Mead's Symbolic Interaction Theory. It uses a technique that includes a literature review and interviews with certain users of personal sports equipment to examine three fundamental concepts: mind, self, and society. According to the study, a person's capacity to interpret symbols is what makes up their mind. Therefore, everyone must interact to develop their mind and get that meaning. Then, the self is the ability to accept and adapt based on the judgment of another person's point of view. Moreover, an individual in the surrounding environment will deliver people in the process of taking tasks in society; they even can form a community as the same user of personal sports devices. Using Symbolic Interaction Theory, humans will perform an action based on the meanings attached to the action. Nevertheless, humans can obtain their purpose from social interaction with others.

Abstract

One of the national health problems that requires special attention and handling from various parties, namely from the central government, regional governments, and the family level, is stunting. Sukamulya Village is one of the villages in Rancaekek District, Bandung, West Java, located in the Citarum River watershed (DAS), which runs a stunting prevention program with three hamlets in it. Currently, one of the targets of stunting education is teenagers. The problem faced when targeting teenagers as targets for education and agents of change, especially in Sukamulya Village, is that the material on stunting has not been packaged with the approach style of teenagers who enjoy technology-based information. In addition, teenagers consider this unimportant because the education provided is too dull and delivered by people they feel are too old (the same age as their parents). So, a training activity was carried out to make an animated video series based on artificial intelligence (AI) called Sukacanting, a method of stunting education and public speaking training to improve public speaking skills in providing stunting prevention education. With the training and creation of AI-based animated videos, several Posyandu cadre youth have improved their skills in creating, managing, and developing health education videos and public speaking skills.

Abstract

Abstract

At that time, the Indonesian government was organizing regional elections, part of the ongoing general election process following the presidential and legislative elections. In a short period, a public movement emerged to reject and cancel the Draft Law (RUU) proposed by the Indonesian Parliament, following the Constitutional Court's ruling on presidential nomination thresholds and political party participation in elections. The "Cancel Culture" movement, known as the "Emergency Alert," quickly gained momentum and was carried out by various groups across Indonesia. It culminated in massive demonstrations involving diverse communities. This study’s key question is how the "Emergency Alert" movement, through social media, managed to oppose the regional election bill so quickly and effectively, motivating people to participate in both online and physical protests. The research aims to understand the content and platforms used in social media to shape public participation, and how the characteristics of new media triggered rapid and widespread engagement. Using new media, social media, and cancel culture theories, this qualitative research with a constructivist framework found that new media characteristics—interactivity, friendliness, richness, autonomy, playfulness, privacy, and personalization—were crucial in mobilizing support for the "Emergency Alert" movement.
