Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between organizational commitment, self-efficacy, work motivation, and employee loyalty at Kana Tamita and Mawar petrol stations, in Langsa City. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey technique through questionnaires. A total of 46 employees became respondents in this study. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression to determine the influence of each variable on employee loyalty. The results of the study show that organizational commitment, self-efficacy, and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty. Organizational commitment has the most dominant influence compared to other variables, followed by work motivation and self-efficacy. Simultaneously, these three variables explain 56.2% of the variation in employee loyalty. These findings indicate that increased organizational commitment, self-efficacy, and work motivation can increase employee loyalty. Therefore, companies are advised to strengthen their commitment and motivation development programs and increase employee self-efficacy to maintain their loyalty in the long term.

Abstract

Students are less able to develop their generic science skills, such as understanding symbols in science lessons, and many of them cannot even use measuring instruments. One way to improve this ability is to develop learning media. This research aims to develop learning media in the form of digital heat expansion based on Arduino Uno that is valid, practical and effective to improve students' generic science abilities. This research includes research and development by adopting the ADDIE development model. The product was tested at one of the state schools in West Lombok class VII. The research results show that the device validation is in the valid and reliable category. The results of observations of learning implementation with an average score of 93.46%, teacher response 98.28%, and student response 89.66% in the very practical category. N-gain is used to see the effectiveness of the product being developed and an indicator of awareness of scale in the generic ability of science is obtained which has the highest N-gain of 94%. The paired t test was used to see the difference between the pre-test and post-test in the trial class, it was found to be significant at 0.00 and it was concluded that there was an increase in generic science abilities. The conclusion obtained is that the development of digital heat expansion learning media based on Arduino Uno is feasible, very practical and effective for improving students' generic science abilities

Abstract

Abstract: Problem-solving skills are among the most important competencies of students, especially in the area of science education in the 21st century. Problem-solving skills enhance critical, logical, and creative thinking skills, which are necessary to solve complex real-life problems. This study is intended to identify and analyze research trends with regard to problem-solving skills in science learning from 2014 to 2023. A qualitative bibliometric approach has been used, and the data was collected using Publish or Perish and Dimensions.ai. In total, 200 documents indexed by Google Scholar were analyzed. Research trends, key keywords, and publication patterns were mapped and visualized using the VOSviewer software. The findings indicated that research on problem-solving skills gained consistent interest over the last decade, with the highest number of publications in 2023. Journals were the most common type of publication, followed by proceedings, chapters, and books. Among all publication venues, the Journal of Physics: Conference Series turned out to be the most important, publishing 784 articles and receiving 2567 citations. The most frequent keywords accompanying research in problem-solving are "critical thinking," "science learning," "motivation," and "teacher," which point to the interdisciplinary nature of the topic. Bibliometric visualization shows the emergence of new research clusters: student skills development, teaching strategies, and assessment methods. The conclusion from this study is that, while the research on problem-solving skills has grown steadily in science education, the implementation of practical teaching strategies in a classroom to enhance these skills remains fragmented. The future direction for research should encompass experimental studies through the integration of problem-based learning approaches that are important in the development of critical and creative thinking among students. Such findings have an important basis for educators, policymakers, and researchers to devise evidence-based practices that enhance the outcomes of science education.     Keywords: problem-solving skills, 21st-century competencies, science learning, bibliometric analysis, critical thinking.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores trends in the design and implementation of research and development (RD) models tailored for science education rooted in local wisdom within the Nusa Tenggara region (NTB and NTT), Indonesia. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, the research synthesizes findings from 20 pertinent articles published between 2017 and 2023, adhering to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Selected studies are indexed in SINTA (levels 1–6) and focus on ethnoscience, local wisdom, and RD models, while studies outside primary and secondary school science education or predating 2017 were excluded. The review identifies ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) and 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) as the most frequently employed development models, each representing 40% of the analyzed studies. Their popularity stems from their structured processes and adaptability to tight development timelines. Less commonly used models, such as Borg Gall and Dick Carey, feature in only 10% of cases, likely due to their complexity and resource demands. Most studies focus on producing contextually relevant teaching materials, such as ethnoscience-based modules, interactive tools, and multimedia resources that incorporate elements of local wisdom. The integration of local cultural knowledge into science learning enhances students' understanding of abstract scientific concepts, cultivates critical thinking, and strengthens cultural appreciation. These findings emphasize the value of culturally responsive approaches in designing science education materials that connect traditional wisdom with contemporary scientific perspectives. In summary, the ADDIE and 4D models are pivotal in fostering culturally relevant science education in Nusa Tenggara. Their practical and systematic frameworks enable the effective integration of regional culture into science curricula, supporting the creation of impactful and contextually aligned educational practices.   Keywords: science learning, local wisdom, ethnoscience, ADDIE model, 4D model, Nusa Tenggara, systematic literature review.

Abstract

This study explores the connotative meanings of various social problems as depicted in the Indonesian horror-comedy film Agak Laen through the lens of Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory. By applying Barthes' framework—denotation, connotation, and myth—this research identifies and analyzes the layered symbolic representations of poverty, gratification, crime, infidelity, and social inequality in selected film scenes. Using a qualitative descriptive method, supported by content analysis and semiotic interpretation, the study reveals how non-verbal cues, visual composition, and character dialogue convey implicit social criticism. The findings indicate that Agak Laen does more than entertain; it reflects structural issues within Indonesian society and offers a satirical critique of moral dilemmas, class divides, and systemic corruption. These connotative messages, embedded within comedic and horror narratives, function as powerful tools for audience reflection and social commentary. The film thus becomes not only a medium of entertainment but also a form of cultural discourse that challenges viewers to engage with the underlying societal issues presented on screen.

Abstract

Critical thinking ability is one of the high-level thinking abilities in solving problems. Several learning models can be applied to improve students' critical thinking skills. Some of these models include problem based learning, discovery learning, project based learning, and so on. This research is a literature study or literature review of 25 articles related to students' critical thinking abilities. The articles reviewed are articles published during the last 5 years, 2018 to 2022. Based on the results of a literature review that was carried out on 25 national and international articles, the highest average score for critical thinking ability was 92.56. This value was obtained by applying the discovery learning model through integrated science practicum activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model is the most effective model for improving students' critical thinking abilities. The value of critical thinking ability that most often appears in the range of 71-80 in 11 articles.
