Abstract

This research was conducted in April 2025 in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency. This study aimed to calculate the income of vaname shrimp farming and analyze the production and income risk of vaname shrimp farming. The survey method was used in this study. The risk measures used include variance, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and lower limit, while business income is analyzed using income analysis. The number of samples was 26 respondents, with the selection of census technique samples. The results showed that the respondents' average production of vaname shrimp was 660,558.85 kg/Ha, and the average income was IDR614,516,253 / ha. The coefficient of variation of the results of production risk analysis is 0.0887, with a lower limit of 20,896 kg/Ha. The coefficient of variation from the results of the income risk analysis is 0.1139 with a lower limit of IDR474,445,189/Ha. From the study results, the risk to the production and income of Vaname shrimp farming is relatively low

Abstract

LKP Girly Mode is one of the non-formal educational institutions in the field of sewing skills. This LKP personnel has skills in making shibori tie dye weaving, but still has limitations in coloring and advanced techniques. Shibori is one of dyeing textile techniques that produce fabrics with various colors and patterns. On the other hand, there are many housewives who depend their family income only on their husbands and need skills that are useful to improve family welfare. The community service team of USU has provided 1 unit of obras machine and 2 additional units of sewing machine to LKP Girly Mode. The team has also carried out a workshop to improve the skills of 12 housewives around the LKP. They were trained to make patterned fabrics using the shibori tie dye technique which were then sewn to produce pillowcase products. The sewing machines that have been handed over, directly used at the workshop and useful to support the operational activities of partners. The results of the training are expected to improve skills that support the empowerment of housewives. In the workshop, the Team also introduce about dyes and simple handling of its waste. The team then treated the remaining fabric dye solution so that a clear solution was obtained that was safely discharged into the water without polluting the environment.

Abstract

Community service is a form of movement in making a real contribution to society which aims to provide solutions to real problems that occur in society. Most of the Indonesian population still relies on the agriculture, plantation and livestock sectors to drive the economy. By-products in the form of waste are generally used as fertilizer which can actually be used as an alternative energy source. Biogas is a renewable energy produced through the process of anaerobic digestion of organic materials which is currently widely used by the community as an alternative energy to replace LPG for cooking and generator fuel to produce electricity. One of the utilization of non-hazardous biomass waste into energy in the form of biogas has been implemented in Tadukan Raga village in Sinembah Tanjung Muda (STM) Hilir District, Deli Serdang Regency which has been operated since 2018 and is equipped with a barn for mushroom cultivation. However, problems arise where the facility is abandoned where there is a lack of maintenance of biogas generation facilities and mushroom barns, lack of human resources and low understanding of the community, especially BUMDes in the management, development and business maintenance of this facility. Therefore, it is necessary to provide counseling and training to the community in the operation of biogas facilities, revitalize mushroom barns in biomass non-b3 waste utilization facilities and modify LPG stoves into biogas stoves and install stoves in residents' homes around Tungkusan hamlet. Tadukan Raga Village itself is a fostered village that has been used as a place for counseling and service from the University of North Sumatra to the community because there are still several things that need to be improved, so counseling is again carried out in this village.
