Abstract

This research aims to improve students' academic achievement in Catholic Religious Education. The study involved fourth-grade students of SDN Mananga Aba. The study used Classroom Action Research. Multiple-choice test questions were used as data collection instruments. Data analysis included descriptive analysis (i.e., individual completion, class completion), analysis of observation results of teacher and student activities. The results showed an increase from cycle I to II, both in the percentage of class completion (33 to 92) and the average value (63 to 85), as well as the average teacher activity (65 to 97) and students (96 to 96). These achievements indicate that discovery learning improves student learning outcomes. This increase occurred because the researcher made improvements to learning in Cycle II, especially in the teacher's ability to apply discovery learning syntax, and was supported by increased student initiative, motivation, and collaboration during the learning process. The findings of this study have important implications for teachers. They should make greater use of innovative learning models, especially discovery learning, to improve the quality of the learning process and the achievements of elementary school students in Catholic Religious Education.

Abstract

Religious education plays a crucial role in shaping the Pancasila character of elementary school students. It contributes to the internalization of the noble values of Pancasila. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education for elementary school students through the use of discovery learning. The subjects of this research are the fourth-grade students of SDN Mananga Aba. The research method used is Classroom Action Research, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was done using a test technique, consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions. The data analysis is descriptive covering student completion, class completion, and the analysis of teacher and student activity observations. The results of this study show that, in cycle I, students achieved a score of 65, which increased to 85 in cycle II. The teacher activity observation score in cycle II was 96, while in Cycle I it was 56. The student activity observation score in cycle II was 96, while the cycle I score was 63. The teacher and student scores in cycle II have reached the Good category. This research concludes that the implementation of discovery learning can improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Mananga Aba. This finding implies an enhancement in teachers' comprehension and abilities in utilizing discovery learning to further improve student achievement.

Abstract

The background to this research is that there is a difference in the cumulative achievement index between students and female students in the UNIKA Weetebula Catholic Religious Education Study Program, where the average GPA of female students is better than that of female students. The aim of this research is to determine the impact of parenting patterns and division of roles in the family based on James Coleman's perspective on children's academic achievement. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The research results show that the human resource capital (HR), financial/economic capital and social capital of parents are quite low. The pattern of gender-based division of labor in the family has an impact on character formation in learning and learning outcomes.
