Abstract

Cultural construction creates an unequal understanding of gender between men and women. This construction causes women to live in marginal and unfair conditions. This article aims to examine the concept of sibaliparriq in the construction of Mandar culture as associated with the living Qur'an. This study is a qualitative study using the Living Al-Qur'an approach and is analyzed using gender theory and the sociology of Islamic law. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and a literature review. This research finds that sibaliparriq, in the concept and application of Mandar, is a woman's willingness to help her husband in the household. Sibaliparriq is interpreted as affection (siasayanni), caring (siamanaoang pa'mai), brotherhood (palluluareang), and sincerity (sukku' mattulung). Sibaliparriq is related to the concept of gender in the Qur'an, and there is no contradiction between them, so that the cultural construction is also equal and balanced. Both position women in an honorable and dignified manner; they are seen as Allah's creatures who live to help each other; the difference between the two is only in piety (taqwa). Sibaliparriq is an application of the living Qur'an which is practiced in the life of the Mandar people, namely helping each other (ta’awūn) for good in household life. Sociologically, this has implications for Islamic and customary laws that are well integrated into society.

Abstract

This study explores the relevance of the halal and tayyib principles in the Qur'an and Hadith to modern food safety issues. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design was employed to analyze Qur'anic texts, Hadiths, and relevant secondary literature. Data were collected through document analysis and analyzed using deductive-inductive methods to identify the relationship between Islamic teachings and contemporary food safety practices. The findings reveal that the principles of halal and tayyib encompass legality, quality, cleanliness, and food safety dimensions. Verses such as Surah Al-Baqarah (2:172) and Surah Al-Maidah (5:88) emphasize the importance of consuming food that is halalan thayyiban. The Hadiths on cleanliness and covering food containers align with modern food safety practices, such as contamination prevention. Additionally, literature indicates that consumers associate the halal label with high-quality and safe food standards. This study concludes that Islamic principles like halalan thayyiban can serve as theoretical and practical guidelines to address current food safety challenges. The research contributes to Islamic knowledge by offering a framework to integrate religious values into modern food safety systems. The findings open opportunities for future research, including field studies, cross-cultural collaboration, and the application of technology in halal certification.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a comprehensive management and empowerment model for LazisMU in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The study employs a qualitative approach, primarily utilizing in-depth interviews as the main data collection technique. In addition to these interviews, participatory observations and document content analysis were also conducted. The data collection instruments consist of interview guidelines and observation protocols. To ensure data validity, the study applies source triangulation, which involves comparing the information gathered from various informants and corroborating it with documents and observations. Data analysis was performed inductively through an interactive method that includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification. The findings indicate that the management and empowerment strategies at LazisMU are centered on providing business financial assistance to Mustahik with entrepreneurial ventures, as well as offering educational scholarships for university students. This research provides valuable insights and recommendations for other zakat management institutions, suggesting ways to enhance their operational performance and more effectively empower their beneficiaries through targeted financial and educational support initiatives.
