Abstract

This study aims to analyze the response of netizens to the issue of moving the National Capital City (IKN) in the episode "The Fate of the IKN in the Hands of Prabowo and Jokowi's Evaluation of the Head of the IKN, from Land Issues to Investment" on TempoDotCo 's YouTube channel Bocor Alus Politik. Through a nethnography approach, this study examines the comments of netizens in response to the issue, revealing various expressions of digital politics, social identity, and criticism of public policy. Using the Public Sphere theory, and media equation theory, this study highlights the dynamics of interaction between satirical media, public opinion, and digital political participation. he results of the study indicate that netizens' comments serve not only as a means of political expression but also as a reflection of collective negotiation and public discourse surrounding IKN policies. The findings indicate three predominant patterns in netizens' opinions. The first is a rejection of the IKN project, encompassing controversies over its development, concerns regarding its potential impacts, and widespread public skepticism. Second, the perspective of governance and leadership, including the management of the capital city and the political situation of Indonesia. and the third development project of the capital city is considered good which includes community support. This research contributes to a new understanding of digital political literacy and the importance of social media platforms in shaping contemporary political discourse. The novelty of this research lies in the use of nethnography to examine public responses in the context of satirical media, which is rarely the focus of political communication studies.

Abstract

Indonesia is the world’s second-largest fish producer, yet national fish consumption remains relatively low. To address this gap, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries launched the Gemarikan (Eat More Fish) campaign, which has recently shifted to digital platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to reach wider and younger audiences. This study explores the digital communication strategies used in the Gemarikan campaign, employing a constructivist paradigm and descriptive qualitative approach. Data were gathered through interviews, observation of digital channels, and document analysis at the Directorate General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products. Findings show that the campaign relies on persuasive, visual, collaborative, and educational messaging. While digital media enables interactive and contextual communication, effectiveness is shaped by technical and cultural factors. The study highlights the need for data-driven, adaptive digital communication strategies to promote healthy and sustainable food consumption behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Feminine Energy among Generation Z female influencers in constructing self-identity on social media. Feminine Energy is understood as an energy that embodies empathy, gentleness, and emotional balance, which has become a symbol of women’s empowerment (soft empowerment) in the digital era. This phenomenon is significant as it reflects a shift in the meaning of femininity from physical appearance toward self-awareness and personal authenticity. The research employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews and observations of social media content produced by influencers who express Feminine Energy values. The analysis draws on Social Identity Theory (Tajfel & Turner, 1979), which highlights the processes of categorization, identification, and social comparison. The findings reveal that the application of Feminine Energy manifests in five key aspects: self-love, confidence, empathetic communication, calm emotional expression, and healthy personal boundaries. Through social processes, influencers internalize these values as integral parts of their personal and digital identities. In conclusion, Feminine Energy is not only a lifestyle but also a social identity strategy used by Gen Z female influencers to build an authentic, empowered, and reflective self-image in the digital space. Abstract

Social interaction that occurs on social media serves not only as a means of social interaction but also as a primary platform for information dissemination and public opinion formation. However, the ease of access and interactivity of social media also pose serious challenges regarding the application of digital ethics. Freedom in social media is not limitless freedom. Digital ethics involves principles and norms that govern user behavior in creating, producing, and distributing content with full responsibility. The 2020 Digital Civility Index (DCI) report regarding changes in community behavior in social media usage and forms of communication interaction places Indonesia at the lowest rank in the civility index. Incivility in social media conduct by the community results in significant vulnerability and threats of division, unrest, and conflict within society. Digital ethics involves principles and norms that govern user behavior in creating, producing, and distributing content with full responsibility. Ethics and morals have an attachment to one another. Abstract

Increasing exposure to digital content related to sexual behavior has heightened the need for education on preventing Pornography, Masturbation, and Orgasm (PMO) on platforms popular among adolescents, such as TikTok. This study aims to explain how the TikTok account @nofaps.id functions as an educational platform for PMO prevention through the lens of Media Ecology theory. A qualitative approach was employed, including in-depth interviews with the account administrator and several followers, alongside observations of PMO educational content. Findings indicate that TikTok provides a digital environment facilitating the gradual development of knowledge, awareness, and behavioral change. This occurs through short-form content, engaging visuals, and interactive features, which strengthen users’ motivation, self-control, and cognitive processes throughout PMO prevention stages. Additionally, interactions between the admin and followers via comments and consultative services create a social support space that reinforces experiential learning. The study concludes that Media Ecology theory is effective in understanding how TikTok shapes an educational ecosystem around sensitive issues such as PMO addiction. Limitations include the small number of informants and focus on a single account; future research should examine multiple platforms and adopt more diverse methodologies.
