Abstract

Frequent complaints from workers in the company regarding the unavailability of hot water for bathing water needs during the rainy season. To fulfill hot water needs for company workers, it is necessary to install a water heater in each mess for comfort for workers. This experiment is also in line with supporting the Government and Company programs in terms of the efficiency of the energy and global warming beneficiaries that are currently happening. Water heater technology (WH) is considered the most recent and used as an alternative. Its main function is to supply hot water needs in all parts of the housing that are in need. The amount of heated water is adjusted to the needs of the dwelling whether it's for bathing, kitchen matters, and washing. Because it is used when needed, the efficiency side is greatly highlighted from the water heater product (WH). Another advantage of the product concerned is the unlimited supply of hot water provided there is always electricity available

Abstract

Metal cookware has been used many people for its better thermal conductivity. However this material also has some weaknesses for its reaction with acidic food which will contaminate the food. Metal-base material coated with enamel is one of the solutions. The hard and non-reactive surface has cause this material has been widely used for processing food. Lower thermal conductivity is one of the problems of enamel cookware. The experimental analysis has been conducted to investigate energy efficiency, emission rate and thermal conductivity. The efficiency is calculated by comparing the useful energy (work) with the input energy. The emission rate is calculated by multiply energy consumption with emission factor. Meanwhile the thermal conductivity is calculated by using simply conduction heat transfer equation. Based on the analysis, enamel cookware has much lower thermal conductivity than aluminum cookware. However this physical property does not much affects the efficiency. The most dominant factors which should considered are type of fuel and technology of stove which consume higher energy inefficiently and emits much higher hazardous gas

Abstract

Stringent ventilation regulations make the humidity problem more serious. In modern society, people spend most of their time in built environments. More attention has been paid to indoor air quality and indoor thermal comfort. Fresh air centered HVAC systems are necessary for almost all buildings. In this chapter, a quantitative analysis is provided for the energy expenses and possible savings in fresh air ventilation. More specifically, hot and humid climates like Palembang are selected as the calculating sample. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis karakteristik mekanik dan keamanan struktur alat angkat angkut yang terbuat dari Plain Carbon Steel menggunakan aplikasi SolidWorks 2019. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa material memiliki kekuatan luluh sebesar 220.594 MPa dan kekuatan tarik maksimum sebesar 399.826 MPa, yang mengindikasikan kemampuan material dalam menahan beban sebelum mengalami deformasi permanen. Dengan pengujian variasi beban dari 50 kg hingga 250 kg, ditemukan bahwa tegangan maksimum meningkat dari 3.462 MPa pada beban 50 kg menjadi 17.32 MPa pada beban 250 kg. Displacement juga meningkat seiring dengan penambahan beban, mulai dari 0.028 mm hingga 0.141 mm, menunjukkan deformasi yang lebih signifikan pada beban yang lebih tinggi.. Faktor keamanan (factor of safety) menurun dari 63.72 pada beban 50 kg menjadi 12.73 pada beban 250 kg, menandakan bahwa struktur tetap dalam kondisi aman namun mendekati batas kemampuannya. Analisis kurva stress-strain menunjukkan fase elastis dan plastis yang mencirikan perilaku material, dengan titik leleh yang penting dalam analisis kekuatan. Nilai yield point yang diperoleh adalah 5.174 N, dengan beban yang diizinkan sebesar 2.587 N atau 264 kg. Temuan ini menggaris bawahi pentingnya pemilihan material dan desain struktur yang tepat untuk memastikan keselamatan dan keandalan alat angkat angkut dalam berbagai kondisi operasional. This study analyzes the mechanical characteristics and safety of a lifting and transporting structure made from Plain Carbon Steel using SolidWorks 2019. The analysis results indicate that the material has a yield strength of 220.594 MPa and a maximum tensile strength of 399.826 MPa, demonstrating the material's capacity to withstand loads without experiencing permanent deformation. Testing various loads from 50 kg to 250 kg revealed that the maximum stress increased from 3.462 MPa at 50 kg to 17.32 MPa at 250 kg. Displacement also increased with higher loads, ranging from 0.028 mm to 0.141 mm, indicating more significant deformation under greater load.The factor of safety decreased from 63.72 at 50 kg to 12.73 at 250 kg, indicating that the structure remains safe but approaches its limit. The analysis of the stress-strain curve demonstrates both elastic and plastic phases that characterize the material's behavior, with the yield point being critical for strength analysis. The obtained yield point is 5.174 N, with an allowable load of 2.587 N or 264 kg. These findings underscore the importance of selecting appropriate materials and structural designs to ensure the safety and reliability of lifting and transporting equipment under various operational conditions.

Abstract

Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi studi pustaka dan menghitung data secara langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Pada produksi gula di PG Komering PT Lajuperdana Indah dari perhitungan analisa di pabrik. diketahui nilai kalor paling rendah terdapat pada data ke 3 dengan perolehan 1.799,4 kCal/kg dibandingkan dengan data ke 2 yaitu 1.914,6 kCal/kg dan data ke 1 dengan perolehan nilai kalor paling tinggi dengan angka 2.147,5 kCal/kg. Dari nilai kalor tersebut bisa mengetahui konsumsi bahan bakar. Data 1 dengan konsumsi bahan bakar 62.090,6 data 2 dengan konsumsi bahan bakar 73.926,9 dan data 3 dengan konsumsi bahan bakar 80.497,6. Semakin rendah kadar kalor bahan bakar semakin rendah efesiensi boiler yang dibutuhkan.
